The Return of the Dragon Warrior
4 March 2024
Possibly a surprise to see the infamous Jack Black again with more excitement in his iconic adorable character, Po this time will have to be a teacher for an upcoming dragon warrior and that could possibly be an interesting concept. However, the film sins in its antagonist who becomes irredeemable and inconsistent, but these are not obstacles to buying some popcorn and going to the cinema to enjoy with the little ones a great adventure around China with Jack Black, Awkwafina, James Hong, Bryan Cranston among other renowned actors.

It may not have the charm of the first two films, but it could be interesting.

A Masterclass of Jodorowsky
4 March 2024
Alejandro Jorodowski, not only put the entire concept of transparent and transversal cinema in the extension of his word but also includes symbolism and various types of propaganda throughout the film, emphasizing everything from criticism towards religion to politics or my favorite emphasis towards a spiritual journey throughout the mountain searching for being and non-being Jorodowski was a visionary but he was also a pretentious poet with delusions of persecution and perhaps that is what is fascinating about this man with ideas that are too psychotic and sinversive.

Jorodowski's cinema is very fascinating because of how he does it and how he has such extravagant creative freedom. Perhaps the most unique thing about his style is how he emphasizes Christ and his libertarian representation and perhaps at the end of the day this film will not be easy to digest the first time you see it, but it would be an experience that you could never forget.

Personally I stay with El Topo, because at least I feel like that movie is a little more digestible because of its story and its hero's journey.

"I Will Love You as long as I breathe"
4 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Three years ago I swore to God that I could rest in peace after having seen the first part and today if they told me that I had cancer and that it would die in 24 hours, I would watch it as many times as I could because it is literally what I have been waiting for all my whole life.

The Film Dune seems to me the most impressive thing I have ever seen in my life, I have not been so moved by a movie since I saw The Batman movie and with good reason. I a faithful believer in Frank's books Herbert but I'm also a believer in Timothee Chalamet and the infamous Austin butler who gives such a scary and terrifying performance throughout the movie that he tramples Sting's performance in David Lynch's work.

Jessica chesstein, Florence pug, Stellan Skårsgard and aother actors have managed to show that in this film everyone can shine at any moment in the entire Arraquis desert, but if you made me say who it was that completely stole the show it would have to be Austin Butler with his terrifying presentation and also the fun moments I was able to have with Javier Bardem.

The film not only continues to leave us with the most important themes it has, such as politics in the Imperial World of Dune, including religious themes, ecological environmental themes, but it also even handles a somehow spiritual something symbolic something where you are in a desert, you feel that connecting with another essence of life and that is what I perceive when see the Dune part 2, an essence of life so great at an unimaginable magnitude that it causes anyone who immerses themselves in the desert to become become a Fremen.

At the end of the day Dune part two will become an important film in the history of cinema either how to make a blockbuster of high magnitude or how to present a good cast, I have a lot of evidence and I can guarantee that I have zero doubts. I hope you can enjoy this movie like I did.

How do you Live?
18 January 2024
Miyazaki is definitely the Stanley Kubrick of animation since each fragment or each symphony he plays while creating this work that talks about loss, disappointment, life, death and in a game that has no heartiness, becomes masterful.

Perhaps what I loved most about the entire film is how Miyazaki manages to transcend his films with a philosophy of life without mentioning that animation always evolves to the point of leaving warmth, home sensitivity, I felt all of this while I was watching this new work by the great master. And I honestly don't think it has any competition at the Oscars.

Not to mention that it also has a philosophy very attached to altruism.

Amadeus (1984)
10/10
Powerful, dazzling, epic and significant to the history of cinema are what describe Amadeus a true masterpiece.
18 January 2024
Amadeus has many things to talk about, both the level of acting of F. Murray Abraham & Tom Hulce. Like Director Milos Forman's relationship with the production of his film. Forman hated the films and biographical works of musicians because he found them deeply boring. However, after witnessing the first act, Forman approached a nervous Peter Shaffer (who knew the trajectory of Forman and knew that he was in the function) and excited, commented: "If the second act is as good as the first, I'll make the movie. The rest, as they say, is history. Both Peter Shaffer and Milos Forman worked together for four exhaustive months in 1982 on the writing of the script, although the credits ultimately acknowledge only Shaffer as a screenwriter.

The Director's version contains 30 minutes of difference and puts incapie in moments where fiction was winning in favor of the real events of the composer Mozart.

It must be emphasized that the intention of both Shaffer and Forman was not to make a biography or documentary on Mozart; rather, the idea was to create a fantasy based on a popular myth in the 18th and 19th centuries (Mozart vs. Salieri), in order to present the true theme of the work: man against God. In this way, the film builds a great myth that for some followers of Mozart was even offensive and there were protests against the role that the producer had taken, since it had allegedly contributed to damaging Mozart's image and degrading it of status. From musical genius to stupid hopefully. Protests aside, the truth is that Amadeus shows a cinematically exciting and effective Mozart.

The plot of Milos Forman's film revolves around Mozart, Salieri and the romantic legend of the death of this first composer. In real life, Salieri never even witnessed Mozart's death. It is true, however, that Mozart was commissioned to compose a requiem mass, Requiem K.626, which he was unable to finish due to his illness. The somewhat mysterious circumstances under which the work was born have given rise to a host of romantic legends.

THE KING OF THE MONSTER?, NAH THE NIGHTMARE OF THE MONSTERS
15 January 2024
Godzilla Minus One has something that really impresses me and it is that message of morality, of what is correct, of duty, of knowing that you have to do something without receiving anything in return.

And perhaps one of the things that impresses me most in this movie that not many Godzilla movies do is that they portray him as a threat. I'm already tired of all Godzilla movies humanizing you and portraying him as a Savior, here he is a monster that you have to eliminate or your existence will be at stake. We irrationally believe in something greater than ourselves and when we are able to understand that, we will be better than those who harmed the world with the atomic bomb.

"My love. I just want you to know that I'm not that monster, you know".

Warning: Spoilers
Justin Triet's acclaimed film, winner of the Palme d'Or, has become a reference for many film buffs in recent months and frankly I liked the scoop that is built from a murder at the beginning of the film, without knowing that it would escalate to something as serious as an incriminating trial against the protagonist of the story Sandra Huller who faces her privacy with a jury of dubious morality.

Perhaps the only factor that made me dislike Justin's film a lot is the fact that it is a French film. Let's say that I have a complicated relationship with French cinema, I know, I know that all cinema originated from the French, but the French language puts me to sleep easily and if it weren't for the story and the first 30 minutes I would have abandoned this movie. Not to mention that the one who got the bill in this film is Antoine Reinartz.

Blue Velvet (1986)
10/10
MY FAVORITE FILM OF DAVID LYNCH
15 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Blue Velvet initially received a divided critical response, with many stating that its objectionable content served little artistic purpose. Nevertheless, the film earned Lynch his second Academy Award nomination for Best Director, and came to achieve cult status. As an example of a director casting against the norm, it was credited for revitalizing Hopper's career and for providing Rossellini with a dramatic outlet beyond her previous work as a fashion model and a cosmetics spokeswoman. In the years since, the film has generated significant attention, and it is now widely regarded as one of Lynch's major works and one of the greatest films of the 1980s.

Lynch's characterization of films, symbols, and motifs have become well known, and his particular style, characterised largely in Blue Velvet for the first time, has been written about extensively using descriptions like "dreamlike","ultraweird", "dark", and "oddball". Red curtains also show up in key scenes, specifically in Dorothy's apartment, which have since become a Lynch trademark. The film has been compared to Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (1960) because of its stark treatment of evil and mental illness.

Symbolism is used heavily in Blue Velvet. The most consistent symbolism in the film is an insect motif introduced at the end of the first scene, when the camera zooms in on a well-kept suburban lawn until it unearths a swarming underground nest of bugs. This is generally recognized as a metaphor for the seedy underworld that Jeffrey will soon discover under the surface of his own suburban, Reaganesque paradise.

In a bizarre, strong, moral, raw and versatile way Blue Velvet becomes one of the films that most represent the mystery genre.

I really liked the film, Isabella Rossellini's performance is the one that fascinates me the most of all, because you get to feel empathy for her and what she suffers. Not to mention that Denis Hopper could easily be one of the most versatile villains of his kind, he generates courage and anger in just a short time.

To close the year today I will see the last movie and I wanted it to be Raging Bull, I wish you a happy year and I hope you achieve your dreams friends, see you again.

Ted (2024)
9/10
The Perfect Return to Seth MacFarlane
15 January 2024
Previously, Seth MacFarlane gave us two films where an affectionate Ted Bear would become an icon of popular culture. Although his films were fun, they did not reap the fame and fair income to follow the adventures of John and Ted.

In this new series we can explore more of their friendship and how they forged their relationship and their way of being, thinking and acting, because Ted is obviously not a Peter Griffin or a Stan Smith where his level of ignorance and humor makes them shine. Ted arrives at a perfect point in 2024 to make new generations laugh as well as those who already followed MacFarlane's career.

A very bizarre Mexican cult series
2 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The Neighborhood Family was a sketch that was uploaded to YouTube in the early 2005s almost when YouTube was just a baby. What made these skaches on the internet funny was that they were dysfunctional situations of an average Mexican family and the characters of Grandpa and he were not the sensation because they were as ignorant and abnormal idiots as any average Mexican.

I'm not trying to denigrate Mexicans since I come from there and what I'm trying to imply is that this show made that so funny and when they made it into a series it became extremely funnier because they put in hilarious situations than any other. Person from another country imagines what happens in Mexico.

Why the series is bad in itself This is because the jokes with which the neighborhood family started were squeezed to the core because that was how funny the series was and leaving inconsistencies in its story, putting situations that do not have nothing to do with making the apero without being a little more intelligent or making the grandfather much more miserable and unhappy with his family than at the beginning of the first season, who despite being an unpleasant person worried his family.

If you want to have a good laugh, you can watch it just for the anecdote. But I can guarantee you that the fourth and fifth seasons are among the worst ever seen.

Aftersun (II) (2022)

This is our last dance This is our last dance
4 July 2023
Aftersun is a powerful portrait of love towards parents, to be honest I am fascinated by everything I saw and how it was executed by director Charlotte Wells, I understand well why many people put it on the pedestal and put it as the best of the year. While most of the film is an act of love that shows that small details are appreciated, it's the last five minutes that make the film so powerful and special. It is an intimate experience which works very well.

I feel like yes, this movie was worth watching after wanting it for so long, but to my liking I won't put it in the first place of the best of 2022. Because comparing this to bardo or everything everywhere all at once, it falls.

Steven Spielber's third masterpiece
4 July 2023
The Indiana Jones movies have been part of an immersive cult following that has sparked a new way of viewing adventure movies, led by the popular and acclaimed director Steven Spielberg alongside his bosom friend and mastermind behind the Indiana Jones character George. Lucas, managed to create an action movie that connects with the adult and youth audience.

The simple fact of casting Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones was one of the best decisions, since at that time they cast one of the most admirable and respectable people of his time, with a throbbing adrenaline rush for adventure is what has made him original. And special to harrison ford as indiana jones.

Raiders of the Lost Ark was, is, and will always be the adventure movie par excellence. Nothing comes close, nothing will, and nothing in his series comes close. The series as a whole is fantastic, with entries 2 and 3 being wonderful sources of entertainment. Are they Raiders?

Maybe saying shazam won't save you this time billy
16 March 2023
Shazam Fury Gods is something that feels like something you didn't know existed and when you notice its existence you realize it wasn't worth noticing, Zachary Levy no longer feels like a hero wanting to learn from his powers like in the past installment and the villains are a mess, I feel they could try better to bring a real threat to Billy Batson's life, But that may not help much.

But not everything is bad, at certain times the film has its family touch that can be enjoyable for some and even reach a balance between seriousness and joy in a superhero movie, it is basic but does not seek to remain as something innovative as zack snyder or spiderman 2.
