The Renata Road (2022)
Interesting Mystery
An interesting mystery film, which left me baffled for the most part, but in saying that, I never felt bored by it. Thinking about it afterwards, I'm not sure your supposed to understand everything. The whole thing is more of a mind-bending trip in cinematic form, especially when in the end, it doesn't explicitly explain anything anyway. Maybe you need to see it more than once?
Overall, it is very well made, and the performances are really good for a low budget film, and the hotel setting is almost unbearably claustrophobic. I won't be rushing back for a second viewing, but I did enjoy it for what it was.
Something Evil, Something Dangerous: New Moon Rising (2011)
Low budget werewolf flick
Saw this a few years ago on DVD and recently came across it again. It is a nice little werewolf film. A young woman is injured while research a 'big news story' so she heads out to the wilderness for some piece and quiet, but werewolves live in the woods and kill anyone who gets too close to discovering thier secret. There is a lot of weird things in the film, like the strange hermit woman in the woods and awkward attempted rape scene. The acting is amateurish at best and the werewolf effects looks really fake a lot of the times, but I liked it. The ending is very rushed but its not the worst werewolf film I've ever seen.
