The Whale (2022)
Worthy of Arthur Miller
By the end of the film I had nothing too offer but tears and an utter silence. Its not enough to say this film is a masterpiece. Fraser's performance is nothing less than perfect. The way he poored his heart into this character was evident, and executed with the upmost care and beauty. I only wish that more films today had actors such as him. The theatrical blocking and practical lighting effects made me feel as though I were on a stage with the actors. Truly, this was a movie experience I will never forget.
Moreover, it was a film that reminds its audience to seek out truth, and to live in that truth, despite any and all consequences. And the value of connection with one another. Human to human.
Dangerous Game: The Legacy Murders (2022)
Well...they took a stab
While the plot seemed killer at first, all the intrigue was quickly murdered by a subpar script, butchered by 3rd teir directing skills, and laid to rest with some of the worst acting I have ever seen.
That being said, John Rhys Meyers and John Voight certainly did the best they could with an impossibly bad script. They showed their worth as actors, and were the only believable characters in the whole film. While some of the dialogue was even cringier than the abhorrent special effects, it was obviously not the actors fault. For their sake, I will give two stars. One for each of them.
But by all means...watch the film. Can't say I didn't warn you.
The Nun (2018)
Lord have mercy....
Ever wanted to stare at a screen going, "what?" for an hour and a half? If so, you're in luck. The only consistent thing in this film is its unbelievably bad structure, unending maze of plot holes, and ever worsening script. From start to finish, it is a remarkable waste of time.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Poetic S*!%
Getting to watch two hours of this film really helped me work on my gag reflex. Though an allstar cast gave it their absolute best, they could not out-act this horrific script with a sappy story line. Filled with tropes, wannabe moments of heartfelt garbage, and potholes bigger than a Louisiana gumbo pot, this film proved to be a waste of time and money.
