Athlete A (2020)
A black history of US Gymnastics
I found this movie very accidentally. I just wanted to relax while watching something informative and found Athlete A. A highly recommended documentary movie that brings some lights to US Gymnastics.
A brief outline
1. The athlete filed complaint that prominent doctor of US Gymnastics Larry Nassar had abused his position and accused him of sexual misconduct.
2. The complaint was ignored and worse the athlete who confronted L.S was removed from national team.
3. Then the whole "battle" of getting voices of victims/survivors heard and getting L.N jailed.
Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich (2020)
Simple outline
1. The movie reflects of the county's justice system, but many things/facts are quite unclear. I will recommend after you watch the movie do some fact checking. My impression was some justice departments acted slow to get J.E indicted of sex offender crimes. Despite the fact that J.E was first time reported in 2005 it took years to bring him down for his sex crimes. Sad.
2. It also reflects of feelings/emotions of J.E survivors... How being a victim is stigmatized in society henceforth making it difficult for victims to come forward for cooperation with organizations that put efforts to bring dow sex crime offender.
3. The documentary for me was more emotional and psychological. It takes you to some depths of victims' mindset.
