88 Minutes (2007)
Great movie, Pacino notwithstanding
Loved the crime thriller storyline, but oh my gosh Al Pacino's acting, wardrobe, and hair cost this movie many stars. I don't know why he was cast in this role, why he was attired in this manner, and how he looked in his vanity mirror and said to his stylist or himself "HOO HAH THAT'S IT!!" Lots of coed eye candy in this flick. Lots of suspend disbelief scenes, also. I know it takes place in Seattle, but a cabby letting frumpy dressed bouffant hairdo Al take over his cab? Unreal. The opening courtroom scene is memorable for its surreal feel. Al's apartment in some unnamed tony neighborhood of rainy Seattle is amazing. The b-list support actors and actresses perform much better than a-list Al, and deserve awards for carrying this movie.
Screwballs (1983)
Disturbing tennis racket abuse
Just an awful, awful film production with horrific acting, writing, sound, lighting, and every other aspect that makes a good film.
I often wonder how these type of films get green lit. But then again, it was the early 1980's when pubescent titillation was hard to come buy for teen boys. So, so many awful jokes, one liners, and plays on words.
The girls are beautiful.
Taft and Adams? Really? In Canada nonetheless.
North Hollywood (2021)
The Fauci Lockdown has ruined Hollywood
This movies would make a nice TV show. There are no new movie stars. I feel bad for this generation's twenty somethings as they have no opportunities to make it big with scripts like NOHO.
Stylistically it's beautiful. 5 stars for that.
I was shocked to see Vince Vaughn in it, but like Michael Caine said always keep working.
Blonde and Blonder (2008)
Great Pandemic Lock Down Entertainment
Horrible premise, horrible script, horrible production quality, better than horrible acting make this movie a must watch. I cannot believe the budget on this disaster of a film is estimated at $8,000,000. Is that Canadian? Pam and Denise are the only reason to watch this attempt at a movie. I will always wonder how films such as these get greenlit. Just horrible.
Having typed all that, it is a fun frolic to enjoy during the early 2020's pandemic lock down.
Baywatch: Rescue Bay (1994)
This is why it was the #1 TV in the world
Four and half years into Baywatch's wildly successful TV show, we are treated to an extra special episode of Baywatch. Acknowledging their unique role in society, the Baywatch production team hangs ten with this laugh-at-ourselves episode. Rescue Bay demonstrates Baywatch's moment-in-time glory, showcasing all that is great about Southern California's lifeguard lifestyle. Baywatch legend Jeff Altman appears in the third of his seven stumbling, bumbling, quirky guy role. The actors spoofing the "real life" Baywatch lifeguards, and other characters make this episode a real treat.
Baywatch: Masquerade (1992)
Baywatch at its peak powers
The story line is so unbelievably creative as to boggle the mind. Mitch and Stephanie get to show off their amazing acting chops with great wigs and fake mustache!
Plus, the addition of actors J. Peterman from Seinfeld, and Machete of Tarantino fame as villains tops this most-excellent episode. 9 stars!
