First off, right out the gate, this movie was bad.....

But for some reason, i kinda like it. Its a guilty pleasure kind-of-thing. yes, the acting is atrocious. Yes, the plot is alarmingly full of holes. Yes the art direction was an amalgamation of STARTREK-STARWARS-EVERY OTHER SCIFI MOVIE. But i liked it. I know I should have my head examined. Something about the bad plot, hammy acting, and downright hilarious dialog(Crap-lousy! priceless) just rubbed that cheesy-movie bone right. This is glorious 21st-century-film Camp at its best. This IS right in line with Roadhouse as best unintentional comedy. This DVD goes right next to RH on the "yeah-i-liked-that-movie-SO_WHAT!" category.

also, this movie would have never seen the light of day, If that Hack writer-turned-"Religious" icon :L.Ron Hubbard was not the author.

I like most younger Americans, saw this movie on MST3K. I understand most Eastern Europeans like this movie for its cultural significance. No one is doubting that. But i think most people in the US were only exposed to the Dubbed version. This is unfortunate, but English dubs were always horrid and unbearable. Just in the past 5 years has the dubbing in foreign films gotten a lot better. this is probably the reason most American film-fans didn't like or understand this film. And if you are offended by the MST3K-ing of this movie, you obviously don't understand the point of that show. I'm sure if they went back and made a proper dub of the movie, I'm sure that I, and other Americans would change our minds.
