Honest Thief (2020)
Liam Neeson carries this movie.
A formulaic and generic action movie, but with some good suspense. Sort of along the lines of the Fugitive and the Transporter, with a little less passion.
Liam Neeson is a former bank robber who tries to turn himself in. Kate Walsh is his appealing but daft girlfriend trying to help. Things go sour in the process and they have to deal with a ham-handed villain.
Neeson is good as usual, but Robert Patrick is underused. Decent watching, however a bit of a flimsy ending.
Firefly Lane (2021)
Watch it with a grain of Salt.
A rather hokey theme, but take this show for what it is - a decent no-brainer, with a bit of entertaining value.
The show does provide a few clever lines, and a recurrent stream of consciousness, but that tends to clutter things up rather than add to it. There is some contradiction in character portrayal, especially with the young Kate.
The acting is what it is - not too bad - although Katherine Heigl is way too annoying at times.
A somewhat decent worthwhile watch for the time being.
Riel (1979)
Hard to watch.
When I saw this adaptation, I thought it had too many flaws for it come across as anything serious. Christopher Plummer was good as John A. MacDonald, but the corny concepts and atrocious historical inaccuracies make for hard viewing.
V-Wars (2019)
Spouting a platitude.
This series has a good premise and some good cinematographic scenes, however it's just too cliche overall. It's just too corny and juvenile in some parts. Wouldn't recommend it.
Robin Hood (2018)
I didn't know this was a comedy.
Rather bad. The movie starts off with the line, "Forget history." Boy, were they right. History was thrown right out the window when they were making this slop. The story and the scenes were hard to put up with. I actually laughed at some parts, and waste of some acting talent. F. Murray Abraham probably just did this for kicks.
