Jack of Diamonds (2011)
Great Show
The pilot episode is flawless but for a brief moment where I felt it could have actually been better just to throw in an extra commercial, or perhaps the pilot could have been cut down to a 90 minute slot.
By the end, I was anxious to see the next episode. I am only concerned by the way the show is headed that it will run out of steam quickly so I hope they have a plan to do something unconventional. If shows like "Human Target" (a 21 century A-Team) are too "predictable" for the modern audience, then TV writers are going to have to step it up a notch.
You might like this show if you like:
*** The movie "Foolproof" (actually, the star reminds me of a young Ryan Reinolds, too)
*** Monk

The Low Ratings Shock Me
I never write reviews but this time I just can't let the injustice go unavenged. If you reviewers giving this movie 1 out of 10 think this movie is a 1 out of 10 and solely derivative of better films, please tell me what they are--I would love to see them and I hope they are better than the last ten non-comedy movies that have succeeded at the box office. I would much rather watch a movie like this than another Avatar (try Dark City), Saw (try Cube), Twilight (try a real vampire movie like Shadow of the Vampire) This is the best straight to video movie I have ever seen and definitely should have made it to theatres. Unfortunately, Dean Cain's name added to anything automatically discredits the movie, even though I was actually impressed with his performance for the first time in any movie. The so called "off the street" actors are no better or worse than the secondary characters of any non-blockbuster movie (they can't all be made for $200 million dollars like that piece of tard Atavar, James Cameron's only really bad movie despite being his most successful) Someone complained that no bank would trust an unstable woman with that money...SHE WASN'T UNSTABLE...that's the whole ****ing point of the movie. No one would trust her just because she was on anti-depressants like 20% of North Americans at some time in their lives, especially after the loss of one's family. She seemed totally stable before the incident and even handled herself very calmly during the first hours of crisis. Tell me that you wouldn't go a little nuts if your loved one suddenly disappeared from a surgery ward and his/her name wasn't even registered or remembered!
Someone complained that the security guard was doing a crappy, "come out, come out wherever you are routine"--yes I agree and noticed and all the other flaws mentioned, as well as all the flaws in The Sixth Sense, and seven score seven other famous movies that everyone says are perfect and undoubtedly far superior to this one. No, this movie is not the first of its kind, nor will it be the last, and it is not going to be remembered for anything except that it is her last film, but it is still a d***ed entertaining 2 hours.
