Yaadein... (2001)
Cant believe the same person made films like Pardes and Taal
What is this film about? two couples? Which two couples?( Hrithik Kareena or Jackie-Roti?) Who is the main character in the film? ( Hrithik or Jackie or Kareena or Amrish? These were the few question that struck my mind when i saw the film, as far as i feel every film should have a purpose, it can be either to teach us something, to make us laugh or even to make us cry, or to make us realize something...but after watching this film i couldn't think of anything to gain from this piece of trash.
About acting only Jackie was somewhat watchable, don't want to talk about Hrithik cos this one is probably his worst piece of acting together with MPKDH, he has done nothing but overacting and occasionally tried to put in some English accent..and people say SRK overacts..... Kareena has come a long way since Yaadein, she couldn't even act to save her life, let go overacting, and in the dance sequences she was awful.in my opinion she didn't even look good.the others went unnoticed.
the only good thing about the movie were the songs..though not all of them.
Only the title track and Dil mile were good while the Chham Chham had an uncanny resemblance with the old hit Madhuri song Choli Ke Peeche Kya Hain from Khalnayak, well that is not a surprise considering who the music director is. all in all an awful movie, with nothing to remember from except perhaps the nice locations of London and the best part which got the movie a 2 star from me is the blue SLK Mercedes.
Dhoom:2 (2006)
Dhoom machale!!!!!!!
Dhoom machale dhoom machale dhoom!!!!!!!!!!!!! This movies was cool. One of the coolest this year, thoroughly entertaining with mind blowing stunts and action sequences.. Plus points 1) Powerful performance by Hrithik Roshan (easily one of his bests) 2) Aishwarya really hot and spicy 3) Commendable performance by junior Bachchan 4) Mind blowing stunts 5) Good comedy by Uday 6) Fantastic Locales
Well, though i just loved the film but there where some minuses i'd like to point out 1) Some of the sequence were illogical ( like the theft in the museum, going down through a manhole and coming out of other with fresh water splashing all around) 2) No basic storyline ( relied heavily on the stunts and action, which basically pulls it off) 3) Predictable filmi ending( "love story hai, chhor raha hoon") 4) Waste of the character of Shonali Bose (Bipasha Basu)..(if you ask me it was not required).
Vivah (2006)
a brilliant Indian film
All the talent Mr. Sooraj Barjatya showed in his first 3 movies, I thought were all an accident because his 4th one Main prem ki diwani hoon was so bad. But I have to say it wasn't an accident. This guy is talented and the way he has done Vivah is just brilliant. Right from the first scene it affects you. the sequences between shahid and amrita are awesome. The chemistry between these two actors gives glimpses of that between srk and kajol. As usual Alok Nath as the good and loving father is fantastic, so is Anupam Kher. But its a Shahid-Amrita film.Amrita looks good in most scenes though shahid does look a little young to get married but he does a good job of a shy but yet morally strong groom. this movie will especially be liked by those who has gone through such beautiful moments in their life. All in all a brilliant film. hats off to Mr. Sooraj Barjatya...
