The 100: Anaconda (2020)
the best episode of the season
For some reason, I was dreading the backdoor pilot of the prequel.
I imagined it would be repetitive, and that it would steal the spotlight from characters and stories we care about.
It ended up being an amazingly written story, with rich characters and interesting motivations from both sides (Callie's and Cadogan's).
So many questions were answered, many evolving around Becca's journey. We also know how the first population of Bardo developped and that it was Becca who figured out the anomaly thanks to the flame.
It was so interesting to discover the character of Cadogan, who is this narcissist ego maniac, wanting nothing more but to be a god and control the world. It was so great that her daughter outsold him in the end, with the help of Becca.
The performance of the actress who plays Becca makes this episode ten times better too.
The writers were able to merge this season's storyline with all the season's and it's genius. From the acting, to the little details : it got me hooked to this series and I know hope it will get picked up by a network. amazing job.
The 100: The Queen's Gambit (2020)
what a let down....
What happened to this season?
I thought it was finally getting off with episode 5, but after the disappointment that last week was, I found the episode 7 to be straight up bad.
The most heavy storyline was the sanctum one, so I guess this explains why.
To me, the weakest moments were the becho flashback and the echo and octavia scene which I thought were one of the most out of character and unecessary schemes that the show has ever developed : the writers are bringing this up now only to spite the fans which I find to be highly unprofessional.
What I also found to be ridiculous was Octavia calling Echo her family (do you realize how huge that word is) when the two characters never had a moment that could justify theses words in the past season except for bellamy's death.
Also, I feel like the show often struggles with bringing up issues in past scenes without it being too blatant they are only doing it to answer fans' requests ;
the scene where Octavia apologises for beating Bellamy up, I could legit hear the writers say :
"there, happy now?"
I rolled my eyes so hard.
Although, I liked that they gave 0.2 seconds for Clarke to find out that bellamy's dead but again, she'll probably forget about him in episode 9 so what's the point?
Overall, I think what's making me so negative about this episode is the lack of screentime of both Bellamy and Clarke as it totally ruins the last season for me.
Next episode seems to be interesting, but at this point, I am not sure if much could still redeem the season.
The 100: Nakara (2020)
not a filler... but not a masterpiece either
Why can't episode like last week's set an example for all the other ones huh? I'll start with what I liked the less. I feel like since last season, this is all that people have been saying but apparently, the writers never listen so I'll say it again : The Sheidheda storyline is so amazingly boring, to a point where I consider stopping watching the episode live so I can be able to skip through this ocean of boredom, to far more interesting scenes. Although, it is slightly more bearable to watch thanks to the actor's performance along with his creepy/hot voice which really melts perfectly with the vibe of Sheidheda. I'd also like to add, I don't know who wrote this episode, but lines like "tell raven it's bang bang" make me cringe so hard it can't even be funny, like with Riverdale. Now, off to that Clarke and Raven scene : I'll start by saying that I am sick of Clarke being always there to make people feel better about their actions when they never show the same compassion in return. Although, I'll admit that their scene was nice and has definitely been needed for quite some time now, in order for their friendship to move forward. To a much more negative note? I thought the Nakara planet visuals were astonishingly cheap, the lighting seemed fake and the whole planet design felt.. cartoonish? I know it is a cw kind of budget and maybe it's just me, but I even cringed a little when they were walking on that fake ass snow. Don't get me wrong, I did like the spider scene and I thought them being stuck into the cave thing was....entertaining? I just didn't quite understand the point of this little adventure considering that Raven and Clarke could've had their therapy session literally anywhere else. Also, I am not a fan of Miller this season. It seems as though the writers give him witty lines that are supposed to be funny, but I feel like only Murphy could pull these kinds of lines off. And why would he be cracking jokes while being in ridiculously dangerous situations? It ruins the whole realism of the scene for me and this specific character has proved to be way less shallow than that in the past. Overall, I think that, Madi refusing to be the commander, Indra taking control over Wonkru, the Hope and Dyoza reunion, Murphy being the defensor of kids and Dyoza being hella badass in the episode's opening were enjoyable parts of the episode that make it a much more promising one than episode 3, for example. I just feel like this episode was a little bit better than a filler...but still too easily forgettable to be the episode 6 of your final season.
I'll finish by the most impactful aspect of the episode : Gabriel going off on echo and him surrendering at the end of the episode really felt like the best choice, as Echo revealed herself to be way more dangerous than helpful lately. Also, Octavia literally telling Dyoza that bellamy is dead with an emotionless tone while Echo is being so extra seems so off. Speaking of Echo, why does she kill everybody she comes across with, including a defenseless grandpa? Are the writers slowly turning her into a villain? They really said "everyone hates her already so let's actually make her act like a psycho so that they can have a reason to" its just so funny to me. Unfortunately, can't say that the actress sells it very well as she hardly displays any emotions on her face at all and unlike Octavia in season 5, I cannot feel her anger, I only see it and it is not enough.
To finish this off, Bellamy is yet again being pushed aside. I guess last week's episode really gave me hope but I am disappointed and can't say that next week's promo looks really appealing.
Hope I can be proven wrong. Peace

I thought it was the best episode. props to the actors and writers who contributed to this masterpiece. everything was genius, from the timelines to the locations and I was not bored once during the episode.
