Ain't Misbehavin' (1982)
Witty, catchy tunes. A great way to spend a couple of hours.
This broadway show has become a legacy in my family. My mother and sister went to see it in New York, then it came on TV a couple of years later and got to see that the great songs I'd been listening to on the album were sooo much better live. Now, my 8 year old is singing "You're feets too big." Like another comment I taped it off of the TV, but regretfully it has gotten lost. Trying to make do with the CD. Now that the Pointer Sisters have put out their own version, the original is much harder to find. *sigh
Blonde (2001)
Will we every know?
I've seen the movies, I've read the books. This is just one more take on an otherwise mysterious person. I just don't think we'll ever know where it all went wrong for Norma Jean. This movie, not unlike Norma Jean and Marilyn, wants to make the two names seperate identities. Norma has her make-up and hair done, so she's Marilyn now. I don't know if you can simplify a person that way. When someone finds a diary of a secret service man who knew why MM died, then I want to hear some more. Anything less then that and I say "Let the mystery live!"
