Atlanta: Andrew Wyeth, Alfred's World (2022)
"Serene"
"Andrew Wyeth, Alfred's World" is a generally unassuming episode for the most part with ominous foreshadowings throughout. Following the events of "Crank Dat Killer", we see Alfred has gotten his safe farm secured and that he's been there for some time. Earn's been left on the back burner, he's been cultivating weed plants on the side, fixing a tractor up trying to enjoy farm life.
These foreshadowings eventually pay off in a shocking way and Al's luck begins to spiral once again.
The set-up/payoffs that came out from this were beautiful stuff and secured this episode as a top 5 episode for me. Nothing felt forced as unconventional as the episode structure was because the focus was AL full stop. Cutting himself off to the world and trying to live on his own terms with his understanding of "calm". But he's out of his element and all the signs are there to prove it.
Alfred may go through a lot and sometimes it's not all shootouts, but at the end of the day, spending time with the people he loves makes it slightly more worth it. The peace of the final scene where Alfred finally chats with earn and banters about sunburns...
I'm gonna miss this show a lot.
9.3/10.
How Far Is Tattoo Far? (2018)
Cringe in some respects but it's pure Trash TV fun
This is quite the cringe show sometimes that is like every other MTV show. It's silly fun that I watch I the toilet.
Into the Woods (2014)
Kind of plain.
I saw this movie when it came out in theaters, aka very young. Now as somebody reaching adulthood, did I change my mind?
No. This is merely an OKAY passable movie in the disney collection that will get lost in the cycle of mediocre disney films.
As a kid, I had no clue that this was a musical. I was fine with that, but the story was just forgettable. And Long. And Tedious. And that's not good if your target audience is a bunch of kids. I had checked out of the movie during the fake wedding.
The only thing really keeping me in touch with the movie were the performances and music. They were both great. And for the most part the CGI was pretty good too. But holy hell that big bad wolf scene where they leave his belly was terribly done. Like very very bad.
And that's all I remembered from this movie. Besides when that guy and his horse both wipe out to meryl streep. So this is just a passable movie and a passable musical.
BoJack Horseman: The View from Halfway Down (2020)
Unforgettable Television
This episode will probably go down in Television History. That was the thought that rushed through my head as soon as I found out what the view from halfway down really meant. Spectacular in every single way. No tv show has affected me more than bojack horseman had. No episode of the show had affected me greatly afterwards more than this one. It's the show at it's pinnacle peak and most existential/nihilistic. It's a truly perfect way to close out pre series finale bojack, the narcissistic, selfish one we've been with the whole show as he accepts his mortality, and that he is dead.
What a show, what a cast, what a wild ride of a series. Shame this was snuffed at the Emmy's.
Full Frontal with Samantha Bee (2016)
Straight up Bad.
This show is nothing more than trump bashery and stale unfunny comedy. You can only hear someone bash someone so much to the point of insanity. Only reason this is at a 2 is because she has some (but very few) fairly decent opinions and maybe ONE joke lands...every other episode. Can't believe critics gave this show a full 100% on rotten tomatoes.
Over the Garden Wall (2014)
All the elements of a great show but...
This show's been on my radar for quite some time now. And to be fair, I was quite excited to sit down and watch it. I've heard nothing but great things about it, so when I sat down to watch it, I got those things. From the crisp, smooth animation, to great voice acting, characters, creepy gothic atmosphere, settings etc, this has the elements to a great gothic kids show. But something is off in my opinion. The show feels kind of lackluster in presentation, and both the writing and direction sometimes fall in this category. That's my guess on what I think is up. it might just be my high expectations but that's my flaw with this show.
