Hachi: A Dog's Tale (2009)
Hachiko.....a tale of love and loyalty....
Well, a long time ago, i had read the story of a dog in Japan. This dog used to wait for his master every day at the train station. One day, his master dies and never return from his trip. Nonetheless, the dog still waited for him... until his death. There is a statue in memory of the dog, Hachiko, a symbol of the strong bound between a dog and its master.
This movie is an adaptation of this history, set in modern times. In the first frame when Hachiko makes his appearance, i fell for it, i got really fond of it.
So, if you ever had a dog, you will love this movie. I'm pretty sure you will have some tears (or a lot of it) in your face, while viewing this movie. The film is beautiful, highly emotive and yet, very simple in many ways, keeping from be pretentious.
I recommend this movie, i advise to have some tissues for you and enjoy!
The Reaping (2007)
Totally disappointed....
Well. how can i begin? I really think Hilary is a really good actress, remember million dollar baby. So, you will think this is a good movie... but, like most the times, good actors not guarantee a good movie. The idea is good, but its not well performed by the director...AND... well... the people who writes this movie and everyone related to research are really ignorant. At the beginning of the movie, they show a city of Chile, called Concepcion. If i not was Chilean, i thought that city is located in some place with tropical weather, maybe Cuba...etc. You can "sense" the heat and humidity of the ambient, people dressed like "mexican" or Peruvian style and a cop .. well what country he is from? really, Concepcion is cold, the people is NOT as ignorant like in the movie Hilary says, etc...
Besides, the movie i not good, a bit boring and with some lagoons, yo don't understand at all the connection between the protagonist and the plot, etc... there is a lot of new movies around...so watch anything else!
The Last Starfighter (1984)
wow.... i grew up with this kind of movies in my mind....
This movie is old, maybe a "cliche" in this days, but it have something special, somethings that a fan of sci-fi would like.
It's about a guy who see how his life is wasted in a insignificant place, he feels small and non important... but ... he play a big role in a battle for our galaxy, thanks to playing an arcade game over and over.
It's a movie full of hope, that teach that the life always can amaze you, i loved this movie and for the time its special effects were fin and the acting cool... for me a cult movie, that must be watched with your inner child ... that child who dreams about being an astronaut or an starship pilot.
