Halloween (2007)
Better than the original!!!!
OK Im just gonna say it...Its better ... the first Halloween was slow paced and spent a good majority of the picture with people watching television, standing around talking about their dates, and using phrases that were corny, and nobody used, even at the time ...(e.i. "utterly fantastic" "This is going nowhere") It also spent a great deal of time depicting the trio of teens doing a bunch of other hum-drum activities that had nothing to do with the plot. IT WAS BORING. IT NEEDED REMADE. Rob Zombies version was more brutal, better executed, had more realism, even the nudity was better (Danielle Harris is a babe), and I might add, it spent more time addressing the initial plot, I usually don't even like remakes, but this is the BEST Halloween ever. DEAL WITH IT!
The Crow (1994)
Possibly the greatest film of all time.
This movie has everything you could want. mystery, adventure, action, romance, drama, a kick-arse soundtrack and more. It'll make you laugh, cry, and cheer for more. I wish there was more movies like this on he market. Id recommend this movie to anyone. the heros, the villains, and victims alike are portrayed perfectly in this movie. It truly rocked, and didn't miss a beat I don't like to throw spoilers into a comment, so to sum it up. This is the only movie I've ever seen that was so good I'd actually considered getting the title tattooed on me. If you haven't seen it ...see it. If you have seen it ...see it again. Brandon Lee's greatest triumph...R.I.P.
Zombie Night (2003)
Absolute Trash
Without giving anything away...the acting blows, the special effects blow, and its a total rip off of night of the living dead. Its bad enough it was shot in DV... (I wouldn't hold that against them though, I try not to judge based on the budget) but they don't make up for the lack of budget with content. I would, however, highly recommend this movie to film student, for inspiration, because if anything this bad can make it to a video store shelf, there's hope for anyone!!! I am sorry to hear that one of the people that worked on it died post-production, but that really doesn't help the quality of the film. In closing I would like to point out that if you made the same mistake I did and purchased the DVD before you saw it, that DVD's make great frisbees!
Corpses Are Forever (2004)
This movie was Horrible...
I would love to give a more detailed comment on the flick but it sucked so bad, I couldn't focus on it. Bad, acting, crappy fx, poorly shot, I've seen 8- year olds with better zombie makeup on Halloween. All I can really say is that it tries to pass off as an action/horror, but its not scary, or exciting..its just boring...90% talk to say the least and the action is so weak its not even worth watching to laugh at about how crappy it is...I would only recommend this movie as a sleep aid to people with insomnia...much respect to Felissa Rose though (not for playing in this garbage but sleepaway camp) though...that and I like Romereo is about the only reason I watched it but this movie is a disgrace, and I'm not saying that based on its budget... It just sucked...hardily.
One Hell of a Christmas (2002)
Dude, you guys are harsh!!!
I liked this flick, everybody else on here keeps busting its jingle bells because of the budget, but to tell you the truth I was impressed that they put something that good together, with what they had to work with...I would recommend this movie to any student filmmaker as well anyone else. I mean honestly does a movie really need a multi million dollar budget, and a buncha well fed Hollywood hams to be watchable...I mean for all you guys that are dissing it, you sure seem to know it form the opening credits to the end! Perosanally, i think its so sad that so many self proclaimed film gurus on the net have such a cynical attitude, towards the B-movie side of the horror genre (must admit though I have seen some crummy low budget flicks e.i. drive in 'gag')
Black. White. (2006)
My god, what a waste of watching...
When I saw the commercial, I thought it might actually be interesting to watch, I mean it seem original, but its just like every other "reality" show... buncha idiots arguing over nothing (because they were obviously given a pep-talk by the producer, ice cube or whoever) This show was dumb, not to mention degrading to both races. Where do they find people hard up enough for attention to audition for his crap??? Its like they both families were just trying to act as stereotypical as possible, especially the white family. The black family just try to point everything they encountered as racism, the white family didn't even try to act black (God forbid black people be mocked on just like every other race on TV.) I wish some studio, somewhere would come up with a good idea for a reality show, and not instigate whats happening...if they could come up with a decent idea other than "cops" they wouldn't have to!
