House M.D.: House's Head (2008)
House is always fantastic, but this episode raised the bar!
***Very minor spoilers, nothing to worry about I promise*** The episode starts with a sexy lap dance, but then goes deep into a psychological nightmare. It is hard to talk about this episode without giving things away, but what I can say is that this episode alone is why House stands as the best Medical Drama on television today. No soap opera moments like Grey's Anatomy, just riveting suspense and superbly acted drama. There is also some really funny moments. This show is always fantastic and very funny, but this episode stands as one of the most engaging hours of television in a very long time. This episode contains one of the most realistic vehicle accidents I have ever seen put on screen. Absolutely jaw dropping! Drop what you are doing and watch it now!
The Grudge 2 (2006)
Very Entertaining, Quite Scary, Mediocre Acting, Better Than You Think
I just went by myself to see The Grudge 2 because my roommates did not want to see it based on Critic's reviews. I also read the reviews and was very sceptical about going to see it. But there is a rare occasion when a movie is horribly critiqued and when you go see it, it actually was pretty good. This is one of those underrated movies. I am a fan of the original (which scared the hell out of me and is a little better than this film) and I will say this now: If you did not like or were not scared by the first Grudge, then you will not like this film either, so stay home. This movie offered some great jump scenes and at least one scene where you are pushing your theatre seat back as far as it can go because it's really creepy. The acting is not great and the story is all over the place, but if you can keep your mind on 3 different stories at once then your set. It was kind of like a format that Tarantino would use: Starts at the end and then go through 3 different stories and then they all come together for a finale. Well Done.
One last thing. I enjoy the gory and brutal films like Hills Have Eyes and High Tension and so on, but it is kind of nice to witness a horror film that is just plain creepy.
Don't always trust the Critics. Enjoy.
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)
Intensely Violent, Gruesomely Gory, and about 4 Good Jump Scares.
In this Prequel to the 2003 Remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, we learn the brief roots of how Thomas Hewitt became the chainsaw maniac that we have come to love. We learn how Sheriff Hoyt became a Sheriff and lost his teeth, how Monty looses his legs, and more importantly how Thomas gains his obsession for his chainsaw. Make no mistake, this film is as brutal and violent as they get and it shows gore and carnage that is up there with some of the hardest movies to watch because of this content. This is not a date movie or something you go and watch with family members unless they are into it as well. I went to watch this film by myself because everyone was too scared to see it. I am a long time horror fan and have seen them all. And even I was quite shocked at how this film got passed the ratings system. But it did indeed. Two men in the theater were abruptly sick and had to exit. I laughed my head off. This film is about origin and torturous, sadistic methods that Leatherface and his family inflict on a group of people. My only real complaint is that there were not enough scares or intense what-is-around-the-corner parts like the remake in 2003. But if you are a fan of Leatherface and the series like I am then I totally recommend you see this for the simple fact of the story you always wondered about.
This is my first review and I tried to give you all a gist without ruining anything. Sorry if I did because I do not believe in spoiling films. Enjoy this movie for the chainsaw kills.
p.s. I loved Sheriff Hoyt. Watch out for him.
Blade II (2002)
This is THE BEST ACTION/HORROR MOVIE ever made!!!!
I loved Blade when I first seen it because Wesley Snipes is a great actor and Martial Artist. In fact I think he is one of the great four. Others being Jet Li , Jackie Chan, and Chow Yun Fat. A lot of you may disagree. But you have to agree he is at least the best kickboxer out of them. Anyway Blade was an awesome movie BUT Blade 2 blew it out of the water. It was one of the best Action/Horror I have ever seen.
If you don't rent it or buy it like me...
YOU WILL BE MISSING OUT BIG TIME!!
Resident Evil (2002)
WHERE IS THE SEQUEL??????
The whole movie was fantastic!! The zombies were the most creepy and most vicious i have ever seen in a horror movie. But most of all the giant monster thing(if their is a name for it). The mutated Dobermans were cool to. The only thing that made me upset is that like most movies now a days .. . IT ENDS OFF IN A SEQUEL!!!!! In other words To Be Continued . . .
But like I said it was a great movie. Good acting, great special effects, cool mutated monsters, good looking heros, and major arsenals. A must see.
The Time Machine (2002)
Ended Too Quick...
The entire movie was great. There was great special effects, good acting, and edge of your seat action, but it ended off way too fast. There could have been at least an hour more put into the movie. I do not like spoilers so I will tell you that it is worth seeing but dont expect a spectacular ending. 7/10
