K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)
Commercial cinema at it's best and a worthy sequel
This is the movie that deserves and lives upto the hype. Barring a few mistakes, such as too many jump cuts during the car chase and an improper development of the love story between Rocky and Reena, this film was perfect. Experiencing this one time isn't enough. The post-credit scene was just amazing.
Tumbbad (2018)
A masterpiece in modern horror
As a person who's tired of seeing duds and not so good remakes(cough, Bhool Bhulaiya) in the name of horror, it was genuinely refreshing to see a horror like Tumbbad. Many producers and creators often think that horror is simply about trying to surprise the audience and just have some songs. Tumbbad doesn't use cheap tricks like jumpscares and overpowering background music, rather it relies on a good mythological based story. Many people often forget that to create a great horror movie, tension has to be build and the audience has to be engaged with it. The background score is also brilliant. In an era of remakes and formulaic films, Tumbbad is a breath of fresh air.
Suits (2011)
A Perfect Start, Middle and End
The best shows are not the ones that look good on paper, but it's how well it's executed and knowing when to end it. Suits is an example of brilliant writing, character development and the perfect casting, from Louis Litt to Daniel Hardman, everyone was impeccable. It's a show that doesn't feel rushed, but it ended on the right time and on the right note.
October (2018)
A Shoojit Sircar masterclass
Watched it for the first time during the pandemic and I just wish that I could've seen it in theaters. This is what a love story should be. Brilliant performances from the cast. The fact that it flopped, while Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya became a hit, shows that we as an audience aren't ready to appreciate good content.
Jawaani Jaaneman (2020)
A Lovely Film
A genuine feel good film that makes you cry and laugh with joy. Alaya F makes an absolute impact on her debut. Saif Ali Khan and the rest of the cast does an amazing job. But Tabu, hands down is the most amazing part of the film. Within the limited screen time, she was just phenomenal. No words to describe her.
