Fool Me Once (2024)
So many goofs
Was good but too many goofs to not say something.
In military uniform you must be clean shaven, when at the food truck he has a 2 day beard, when wearing his beret, he had the cap badge over his right eye which is wrong, the badge is worn over the left eye and all slack material is pulled down over the right ear.
In the Apache gunship scene she has the monocle pushed away from her face, the monocle is supposed to be right in front of the eye, it transmits data to the gunner and tracks eye movement (it's how the chain gun is aimed).
When asking for the bullet to be analyzed, she passes an empty shell casing, this presents two goods.
The first is that the shell casing can't be used for ballistic analysis, only the projectile (bullet) can be analyzed, at best from the shell case you'd get a finger print.
The second is that the alleged pistol used (a Glock 17) is a semi automatic pistol, shoots 9mm rimless ammunition and the shell casing offered is a rimmed case, longer than a 9mm, I'd bet money it was a .357 magnum or a .38 special - revolver ammunition.
There's more, and all of a military themed goof, what frustrates me is the police procedure was spot on, did they run out of budget for a military adviser and just went with law enforcement advisors?
Simple mistakes that spoilt a very good drama, had the military aspects been more accurate I'd have rated this at least a 9/10.
The Shepherd (2023)
Good story, few mistakes.
Good way to kill 40 minutes, it's a heartwarming story and is a good nod to the real Shepards, as acknowledged at the end.
Few goofs spoilt it for me a little, but only because I served.
We never salute when not wearing headgear, and Canadians salute the same as the Brit's in wwII.
Beards were only allowed in the Royal Navy. Also there's a shot during the landing sequence that jumps to a USN F-14 Tomcat landing in smoke, which is not the correct country nor aircraft.
Other than that, well worth a watch, great to see British aircraft in movies rather than the usual yeehaw American love fest.
Recommend!
Scarborough (2019)
Funny lighthearted comedy
As an expat living in the USA this comedy made me feel like I was back in the uk.
It's funny without being crass or exploiting stupidity.
Shame the BBC killed it.
Avenue 5 (2020)
Loved it, slow to get into then was hooked
It's brilliant because it could be so so true. Working in a engineering field I could totally relate and found the plot to be very engaging and so funny, Huge Laurie was amazing as the put upon captain.
Can't wait for S2
