Unknown history-maker
21 April 2022
An amazing story of a Leonid. Berenshtein depicts bravery and heroism exercised by a special regiment under his command during WWII.

His Jewish background assured silence about his activities in a post-war Soviet era.

Storytelling by a major character in a fragile aged state, visualised by an actors' play is a brilliant approach of which materialisation would even more impress if script, uniforms deployed, performing could a bit more be detailed.

Screening this movie of a Soviet Army tonight, in a middle of RF operation in Ukraine, bears some special meaning as one could feel.

Europe...
24 November 2021
I was not too keen going Europe even in pre-covid times. Not to recently, for sure.

Some familiar places are much contributed with author's special information from juxtapositions unexpected, fresh and simply not well stamped by tourists' hordes casually.

Informative, educative.

Paul shows the most
24 November 2021
After "Shocking Asia", it's not so easy to amuse a viewer with something of this region but Paul Merton did!

It's nice to travel virtually, see an absolutely strange place to an extent of a such acquaintance that no need to spend a good deal of money to go there to in person :) !

Simply Pleasure

Every season of a life alters perceptions of an existence, a Covid-psychosis age surely.

So nice to watch splashing on sexual desires just not to look at a fascist, "lockdowned" surrounding through a window!

And a top expert escort is a PhD holder in a real life which makes her sexual services even more valuable on a prise of her personal misfortunes.

Brilliant dancing, brilliant Spanish music, brilliant performing help not much to comprehending a plot if even no word was told so, no language barrier.

I feel something was cut from this play of two sisters, two lads seeking (?) their favours and an older character acting somehow disconnectly.

Father? An admirer of sisters? A competant to less love-skilful younger baddies mentioned above?

Anyway, music and dancing are superb.

What is this movie about?!?
23 September 2015
Polygamist makes living for his growing family with a call-hit business by growing assassins from the early days of their lives. A few days ago media reported a 41 year old deploying kids-3&8 year old-for stealing bags from under restaurant tables. Did she watch this work? Or, did producers know such stuff in a reality prior to making a film? Actors play well and Alexander's subversive behavior is rather something inspired by Prometeus story rather than by a real life: outside Australia gypsies live and they mostly change places anyway. Do young Bedouins fight their tribe to settle somewhere in Saudi Arabia or follow a tradition? Newertheless any deep idea underlying, murderer is a murderer and his kid-killer business is awful deed, by screening to make a propaganda of.

An escape from environment surrounding by deploying technical gadgets archaic.
23 June 2014
This movie is a retro-style Zweig-themed-detective stylish tragic comedy with a subtle touch of contemporary early third millennium problems. Shadows of people belonging to a previous century materialized by screening a tale old man shared with an author himself deceased to a date recent, about his escape from a birth-country and establishing somewhere in Austria-looking place, lucky to be noticed by a flamboyant single owner-concierge of a popular hotel top-equipped with innovative technologies. Personal strength and physical abilities were deployed in life-threatening situations as murderous kins of concierge's super-reach beuatee narrowed a circle of claimants for her fortune available after being callously murdered by them. Also somehow unrealistic, it's to some extent a funny visual escape from today environment.

West Papua: history, people, life then and now.
12 July 2012
A lovely story(with animation)is a documentary presented by Australian/Melburnian author Charlie Hill-Smith of his journeys to West Papua, an Indonesian province.

Extremely educative and eye-opening as a movie dismantles both breath-taken views of this place and living info a reviewer was acknowledged with very approximately. Plus, a steady refugee problems for Australia and other countries

Since 1955 year changing hands over island and 1962 year New York Treaty, a new way of life conquests this pre-historic area extensively. Even videorecording of trips monitoring same area in 1999,2005,2006 used to screening highlight rapid and extensive change of attitudes towards a mere forest existence while younger generations of indigenous population not only resists no clothing but "in trouble" for mere stay in undeveloped archaic lost-in-time-and-forest hamlets as lucky to make it into Australia provided in EXTRAS honestly.

Areas where mining concessions are situated, most notably in the Ertsberg and Grasberg mountains, the Paniai and Wissel Lakes region, Fak Fak, the Baliem Valley, the "Bird's Head" western tip and the PNG border area, are where dislocation and suppression of the Papuan peoples has resulted in the most powerful uprisings and the most brutal reprisals by the Indonesian military. Also being somehow mentioned, the natural resources exploration issues Australian companies are a part of, the data visualised -intentionally or not- quite obviously expressed the main background of a conflict, which is intensifying divisiveness between Islam, an official faith of Indonesian majority, and a growing number of local Christians still attached to traditional ceremonies and stories.

Whereas a similar topic doco-story by a New Yorker visiting a lost world twice decades apart ("Keep the river on your right") is emphasised on ethnic and cultural developments with a twist into same gender affairs, this work is rich of arts and politics expressed lesser than "Bilbao" does. I find information about a white local boy extremely interesting-either albinos there exist like in "last-protuberance"-Africa or a youth shown is a modern remainder of a Russian scientific expedition having described this paradise to a civilized world about two centuries ago.

Well, it is up to viewers watching a segment of Extras concentrated on army stories-as well as a sequence of natural nudity constituting a simple life of pre-Indonesia cannibalistic place.

A tragic comedy about egalitarian adulthood short of the human warm
11 May 2012
This is a tragic comedy of a contemporary Australian suburbia, in which bonking a pub-met-stranger is a unisex very normal life-style advertised.

There is something sweet in this movie depicting in general a local environment expertly also, in spite the common perception of sexual activities locally, the most of unknown males-in-twenties in streets met randomly revelled their virgin status predominantly-long distances and public transport jumps contribute to down-the-earth socialising between persons unfamiliar.

It is nice to realise, that my research is perfectly testified by movie makers emphasizing on the lacking of human warm and communication as the very issue for "egalitarian" Australians.

You will never ever know if you never ever go.

Watch and enjoy a fairytale of lost in time and space people adult legally.

Teen boy attracted to a friend convinces a world -and himself at first stage in his macho abilities.
6 April 2012
Boys are boys.

An hour long film presents a story of under-seventeen teens desperate with new instincts awaken and communicating opportunities a life promises.

They are on different stages of sexual liberty while one of them attracted to a same gender mate surely, is overactive in pillow exercising, bearing a secret of a dark experience with a younger girl.

Unlike "Don's Plum", this movie is concentrated at intimate talks between characters in pairs rather than touching sexuality-related topics in a group.

It's a low budget movie. Actors perform well and everything looks natural. Probably, they will overgrow this age as all viewers did.

Well, and where outside some third world countries dance parties differ?

Not much choice for retired left.
16 January 2012
I like watching various movies.

Also horror and gore is not my cap of tea.

And what is one short of a thirst nicely presented?

This film is surely a funny monument to the epoch gone.

The epoch of the sexual revolution when depicting the pairs copulating covered mostly was a step forward to the world delighted and civilized.

If made today, it would be rated M+15 if not PG.

It is really boring 50 minute flick.

And the story is of aging porno stars being of such demand that they are not allowed to retire but being congregated somewhere in the village where they do for fun whatever they did for money also voyeurism is unspeakably appreciated.

Not much choice for enjoyment left left.

A bit boring story of an area-closed community.
29 November 2011
A plot is simple.

Surfers went in open sea to enjoy waves while spending some time on a ship.

There is a sex-game here.

Lustful noise irritates the less advantaged on a ship naturally.

To restore a social justice by way and logic too often happened in a real life, strong male made advances to a willing female.

She refused to submit.

He insisted and actions followed.

A bit boring story of behavioural patterns different people exhibit in a space closed.

A trivial story of teen son-mother modern affairs, from French Canada.
19 August 2011
A reviewer was bit mislead with a product description telling about mother-son strangled relationship. Why for? Because such an affair is sadly very common between modern teens and their predecessors while computing advanced abilities to deploy innovative gadgets younger generations are usually better with to access volumes of information personal and for job performing surely.

The story is trivial one. Separated couple's 16 y.o. offspring residues with a busy mother enjoying her free time in a company of emancipated like-one in modern French Canada, where sex is on a shelf as much as any other of produces demanded by a public. Whatever young male adult offers and suggests had been met with a superior ignorance of an older, wiser and experienced parent towards kid's blabbing. And willingness simply to highlight own sovereign place of OLDer is resulted in doing everything opposite the son offering. A very traditional inter-generation situation except a young male happened being same gender attracted forming relationship with a classmate.

I did not get a title properly because hatred towards mother is regrettable ungrounded feeling of a young 20+y.o. man-"like-others" this DVD purchase was aiming his mother for, but I will think more after recent watching before presenting to.

A next modern Russia's movie-tale of epoch passed
20 March 2011
A next modern Russia's movie of epoch passed, mixes metaphysical with Soviet doco while absurdity follows absurd soften with some erotica, beautiful actors and nice music.

Either an English/gradually-Mandarin-deploying KGB operative or an ordinary china expert (ho ho ho by a bit knowing a Soviet reality till Perestroika while movie is of timing Stalin despotism eclipsed in the thirties of the last century) was in Nanking learning a Chinese porcelain. He was obsessed by a very average beautiful and sexy Chinese girl speaking English perfectly (oh, these Russian script-writers!) whose dad was very angry for daughter's friendship with smoothie-Alex while dating, according to this Russian character-an antiques handy-man-turned-writer, a British consultant David happened around already. Intelligently looking Alex met a Skinhead Guy just done his term for, factually and only, a go with then boss's wife while awaiting her husband on a chauffeur's duty: a VIP had broken driver's scull with a chair carried personally (ho ho ho) somewhere from Kremlin after witnessing that thrust in own personal car.

This not-so-silly-ex-chauffeur looked nice, spoken politely and surely guessed a fate of an English specialist shot down, according to Alex's tales, by a Chinese dad.

So far, too much absurdity just to screen a love triangle of which female bedded one male for being attracted by and a second-for a fear to miss his male saturating advantages, perhaps.

If it was a Russian answer to "Lust, Caution", a film is surely rich in paranormal rather than in earthy dismantled.

A Honk-Kong epic on life as it is, top clans.
20 March 2011
A hidden gem of a Honk Kong movie-industry, the about-three-decades-lasted story unfolds a usual landscape of local traditional semi-transparent inter-links between industry and simply crime while following two clans created by ex-school-friends reveling for and separating by feelings to the same girl.

Blood, murdering, thirst for reaches depicted as mix of comedy and tragedy easily consuming by any viewer, while local stars-performing and musical-helped this process much.

An eventual presence of English subtitles might usher this epic into outer world surely.

LOVE at the young teen cancer hospital
3 January 2011
It is hard to find info of this movie in the Web.

A cast indicates, this IDM-listed title is a film I think of, a movie about teens at a cancer hospital, fooling around their last months of lives, while a comedy genre of this work makes this story even more tragic and touching, first love and teen death imminent depicted.

Incomprehensive life limitation death brings about while youth blossoming is probably a very idea of appreciating any moment those lucky to live should upheld.

Interesting work. Special work. Rare work.

Outstanding topic has been present in an easy-to-comprehend form.

From Melbourne-a self-proclaimed cultural capital of Australia, a gem not to miss
22 June 2010
As many other Australian movies, this work is hard to comprehend at a firs glance by the non-Australians, those used, especially, to enjoying the public places in accordance with their local rules heralded – NOT being punished for NOT listening a music without headphones/cell-phone deliberating last shag details in a computer zone if any, at a local public library, for instance.

Such a very specific flexible Australian approach in situ to human freedoms and liberties demanded from the rest of the world to follow uncompromisingly, has been seen sure-transparently in works by Ana Kokkinos, a movie-maker having already a world shocked with her brilliant "Head On" and definitely-Australian "The Book of Revelations", of which contexts are simple dominance of what-want-to-do attitude as a resistance against commoner's factual powerlessness and arbitrariness factually sustaining a grey boring grass-root subsistence of semi-egalitarians/semi-inmates of Australian ethnic minorities she belongs to, particularly.

This new movie is of inter-family relations and how strangers are interacting unknowingly in their common inability to change anything in lives run down in modern dead-boring Melbourne-a self-proclaimed vibrant cultural capital of Australia.

A gem not to miss.

Of non-Christian, non-UK-linked-biological minorities' real opportunities in modern Australia
28 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
What is all about?

A biological Jew residing in a heart of an Australian Jewish ghetto Melbourne's Carlisle (Balaclava) St. is, travels round a globe to prove failures of his Rabbis and Judaism in general.

From a first moment of this show a reviewer feels similarity to Sasha Cochen Bruno's sperm-addiction and sexualising the surrounding.

Also performing transformations by implementing script fantasies were outstanding, simply rude form of and highly materialistic grounds allowing the execution of round-a-globe endeavours hardly impress a main-stream average viewer.

By playing a fool round a globe while being baptised, a filmmaker just honestly points at non-Christian, non-UK-originated minorities' real opportunities in modern Australia.

Funny story of sex and baseball in Hong Kong
22 March 2010
Kong Hong is a place where everything could be found but baseball. So, producers decided to fill a gap with this work of young sexy blocks playing balls on a field and in beds.

Was it a good idea? Yes.

How entertaining an outcome? Tools look better than actions while bodies are mostly dressed.

Is it homo-erotic? In a case, tight hair-less buttocks in bath attract ones.

Is it of a general interest of youth experimenting in HK? Sure, it is.

And night Hong Kong landscapes are well depicted and broaden general acknowledgment with a place without blood-bathing, mafia, gangs and police. Good on ya, producers!

Excellence Unique
11 March 2010
It is an outstanding movie.

Authors' mind-playing is superb to an extent hardly followed by a reviewer as so much of different genres had been mixed and inter-lapped through detective Kline's sick-with-crime-solving-expertise brain. Family issues. Sexual fantasies, sadomasochism, pedophilia, blood-thirsty games and murdering, German-anatomy style art and fetish. Zombies. The modern USA, Philippines, Hong Kong. AND really nice music.

No wonder, everyone keeps this DVD on a shelf, no Amazon sales as "R" is too soft for classification as R is too soft for classification while "X" would hardly attract adult shop customers en masse.

A junkie-in-tuxedo reaches the summit of chanson.
26 February 2010
Warning: Spoilers
I just watched this work and found tunes familiar also never seen live in action.

A first impression of a performer is a junkie-in-tuxedo.

At the end of show the impression is a visually-looking-as-junkie-in-tuxedo, talented, fantastic performer feeling his tuxedo too tight for gigging in.

What does make this absolutely casual guy's performing attractive to?

A clear accent, sharp wording and professional multi-style acting/singing/piano playing sustain very much his CLASSIC-STYLE CHANSON which will surely place HIM exactly, not lovely sex-saturating Eddie Murphy, Connolly, Robin Williams of the USA, etc, at the summit of a theatrical paramount if his scenic career is not suddenly interrupted, in notebooks on art and comedy.

May his erection, Tim Minchin's muse his texts testify steadily to, lasts far beyond a time of artist's physical possibilities to perform at a stage, inspiring Tim's entertaining for good of viewers' generations oncoming.

Rare Rubbish
17 January 2010
It is 2075.

World is warming.

Africa is melting.

The strongest make it to the North of a continent in a local detention camp run by the White Hi-Tech Man of Steel (memento Australia's Howard Pacific Solution) for being just meticulously selected with modern-cattle-selection-techniques to slave in France on temporary working visas.

Europeans are kind to the Africans (in screened France surely) by not only offering a permanent job to a young African refugee but even having a more intimate hidden agenda-not a wonder, bearing a recent North Ireland premier-minister wife's an underage sex-affair (as one could figure out from the media, lust ceased-and so did a husband's post, following up).

Both France/French Canada and any African from a deserted hell of a third world speak English (and read/write surely) much better than native speakers used already to playing electronic gadgets only instead developing own brain at schools.

This produce is based on delusions of the United Nations Panel on Climate Change to illustrate its prophesies being some time ago awarded with the Nobel Prize and, if even placed in a sci-fi section, hardly has been even near-realistic in 2075 as Stanley Kubrick's "Space Odyssey-2001" in 2001, at least because even an Afro-European intercontinental link-in-progress is a railway tunnel project, not an upper surface bridge connection presented by movie makers.

Same gender affair stories of different people's approaches to life and family in modern Korea, occur on the same island.
13 January 2010
No hard-rock porn. No porn in general. No even hot, steamy scenes. NO NUDITY!!!

Already prepared for further reading might imagine a wonder at Korean-produced English-navigation/title short movie which run somehow followed with English subtitles.

United geographically, and, probably, reflecting the budget possibilities movie-makers were restricted with, three sexually-synonymous stories tell of life twists different people exercise because of being in this place, on this particular island.

"Camellia" is of two old buddies having reunited as life went by, - a local and his recently-in-Seoul-living family-man partner. "Drifting Island" is of a family man found this solace in unexpected holiday affairs with a male local driver. "La Traviatta" is of a widow visiting a ceased husband's male lover.

Nothing extraordinary either in performing or audio-visual effects but rough life and reality depicted-well, a single location could really trigger some disbelief of such dramas narrowed with small island or in marvelous potential of that locality-keep a viewer watching to a very end with stable interest.
