Spartacus: Blood and Sand (2010)
A Bloody Good Time !
I just watched the pilot episode tonight on the Starz website. I don't know much about the original story of Spartacus, but the action and blood flows like the waters of Niagra Falls. Beautiful woman with very tasteful sex. Almost like something you would see in Playboy magazine. I am excited to watch the next episode to say the least. From what i have seen so far this is a man's man show. My only complaint i have at this time is some scenes the blood looks to fake. I just might have to rent the old movie now. So i can compare the two. I hope the show can keep up the pace!
9 out of 10 for me at this point!
The Vicious Kind (2009)
Good movie!
In a lot of ways this feels like a some what darker version of Dan In Real life. Caleb (Adam Scott) picks up his little brother Peter (Alex Frost) and his new girlfriend Emma (Brittany Snow) for Thanksgiving. It becomes clear that Caleb is dealing with some raging emotional issues. About his ex-girlfriend and his dad Donald (J.K. Simmons)who tends to have issues of his own. Caleb starts to grow infatuated with Emma to the point of almost breaking sanity.
I"m not going to spoil the film so I am going to keep my feelings short. By no means is the story original, but the acting was good enough to enjoy it. I think Adam Scott played his role well. As well as Brittany . Got to give it up for J.K. Simmons! That guy rocks at playing dad's . The weakest acted role in my opinion was by Alex Frost. Not saying it was bad! Just not as strong as the others. He played a great bully in Drillbit Taylor though ill give him that.
I give it an 8 out of 10! Simply because of the acting, and starring at Brittany for an hour and a half wasn't so bad either...Shes Gorgeous!
Seven Pounds (2008)
Wow! What a extraordinary story!
I watched this movie last night alone, and I'm glad i was alone because of all tears falling from my eyes. Will Smith with a powerhouse performance of emotion. Dawson is proving to be a well rounded actress herself. I remember watching her in the movie KIDS back when i was 16. Probably the only actor in the film that made it. Anyway back to the movie Im sure from the hundreds of reviews you all know the plot of the film by now. So I'm going to skip that part and just tell you what makes this movie one to remember.
This is not a fast paced film by any means. So at times it did seem very hard to watch. By the end of the film you are wondering to yourself if its just glorified suicide or a righteous act of selflessness? Truth be told maybe a little bit a of both. If you enjoy the film, or not its going to stick with you for awhile. An any case it was a story worth telling. A lot of people will get the message of the movie confused I'm sure. The message i got out of the movie was. If you can give your life to save others would you have the strength to do so? This day in age we need heroes! Fiction or non-fiction this movie made me think on what kind of person i wish i could be.
The Golden Child (1986)
A great movie!
I grew up watching this movie ,and I still love it just as much today as when i was a kid. Don't listen to the critic reviews. They are not accurate on this film.Eddie Murphy really shines in his roll. You can sit down with your whole family and everybody will enjoy it.I recommend this movie to everybody to see. It is a comedy with a touch of fantasy. With demons ,dragons, and a little bald kid with God like powers. This movie takes you from L.A. to Tibet , of into the amazing view of the wondrous temples of the mountains in Tibet.Just a beautiful view! So go do your self a favor and snatch this one up! You wont regret it!
