Sense8 (2015)
One of a kind
This is a series like never before. Everybody should watch it. It's so inclusive, emotional and unique. I never get tired whenever I rewatch it.
Normal People (2020)
Couldn't stop watching it
I absolutely loved this series. It is so moving and breathtaking. Wonderful acting by Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones. Watching every episode is like riding an emotional rollercoaster, but it's so worth it.
Looking (2016)
Perfect ending
This movie was a perfect closure to the short lived Looking series. All of the main characters get their arcs, we know what place they are in their lives and it gives you hope.
The movie takes us on a whirlwind of emotions as Dom,Agustin & Patric prepare for Agutin's nuptiuals. The storyy never gets cliche or boring.
All actors must be praised for their amazing work.
And the last few scenes are so beautiful, you're going to rewatch them several times.
Isi & Ossi (2020)
Good for a lazy evening
It's fun to watch, if you're searching for something light. I know both Heidelberg and Mannheim so it was nice to see those cities depicted in the series.
Main characters are interesting enough to cheer for them, but it's not a masterpiece. I didn't like the ending, felt it was a bit off.
Foodie Love (2019)
Came for the "foodie" part but stayed for "love"
This is an exceptional example of European television. Complex and intelligent, makes you think all the time. We never learn the names of the two main characters and they are people with lots of secrets.
This series takes us through very popular places on Barcelona's culinary map - from hipster cafes to top restaurants. It's a feast for the eyes.
I loved hot this show portrayed getting to know each other and falling in love. It's not easy, it's not simple, especially if you're over 30. There are no big words or spectacles, but you see how these people grow more and more fond of each other. What's so special is that they push each other to be better, to say more and open up.
The finale is heartbreaking for many reasons but it's worth the wait.
The Two Popes (2019)
A masterclass
Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Price. That's all you have to know. Most of the time they just talk, but that is enough. How they portray both popes is mesmerising. Not much happens, but at the same time, everything does.
The Great (2020)
Very enjoyable
First of all,as the creators say,it's not always historically accurate. So,if you want to lear more about Catharine's life, read a book.
But if one is willing to forget about that,it is a very enjoyable show. Elle Fanning is marvelous, she has grown into a fine actress. The cast,in general, doesn't disappoint.
Sets are very nice (I think the shot it in Caserta near Napoli),dresses fabulous and the music helps to set the tone.
Good for binge watching!
Chernobyl (2019)
You cannot miss this
I was born 2 years after Chernobyl so I always knew what happened there from my parents. We live in Poland,so luckily we were spared the worst of the radiation but my mum told me that our government also kept shut about the catastrophe.
Despite knowing what happened in general,I still had goosebumos while watching and was extremely pissed at the politicians who tried to hide it.
Very captivating mini series. Just remember to keep some chocolate close by,you may need it to cheer yourself up.
Cardinal (2017)
Very captivating
I enjoyed watching this series. It is based on books and 4 seasons make up a whole story.
While the plot is quite dark and serious, the series isn't extremely depressing like some Swedish or Norwegian cop thrillers.
First and foremost - main actors are superb. You truly believe their actions. The rest of the cast is also very good. Props for giving storylines to indigenous people.
The cinematography is breathtaking, makes you want to visit Canada. Music intro is very distinct and helps to set up the mood.
I recommend watching this series.
Wolkenbruchs wunderliche Reise in die Arme einer Schickse (2018)
Enjoyable
It was a nice distraction form the coronavirus stress. I had fun. Watching this film after Unorthodox. This one has more humour and fun to it.
Gloria Bell (2018)
Not what I expected
I watched this movie with my mom and we were quite disappointed. It looked like parts of the movie / plot were missing between the scenes. While it was acted well, I didn't but the relationship between Gloria and Arnold.
It's not a bad movie, but I was bored after watching it.
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
Not what I expected
I left thw cinema feeling nothing. Or maybe I did feel something - I was happy the Skywalker saga was over. This movie destroyed my fond thought about Star Wars. Too much happened, they didn't follow up on plots from episode 8 and the conclusion was "meh". I won't watch it again.
Boze Cialo (2019)
The best movie in Poland 2019!
It is a captivating and raw history. Very universal. It is a story about starting over, about redemption and repressed feelings.
Young actors give a phenomenal performance.
Little Women (2019)
Simply mesmerizing
I enjoyed this version a lot! It's a well know story but Greta Gerwig's spin gives it much needed update. It made me like Amy,which I thought was impossible.
Well acted and I liked the realism. I definitely recommend watching it!
Babylon Berlin (2017)
A must see!
If you want to spend some time in pre WW2 Berlin, before the nazis, this is the show.
The storyline is complicated and interesting, main characters are multidimensional and it's just well done. Everything works, from scenery & direction to acotr's work.
Once I started watching the first season I couldn't stop and had to watch all episodes.
