Hush Hush (2022)
An over chewed chewing gum... no need for season 2
Just finished watching it, personally, this was just a big star cast, big production all sitting together on drinks and discussing let's do something... juhi chaturvedi came up with a plot, (which is absolutely not new) Page 3 movie, just with a few things here and there... the big star cast demanded that they need a good screen space and the scenes have to let them explore their acting potential... so you end up with a slow, stretchy, "put on" performances... and you get Hush Hush season 1... this could easily finish off in 3 episodes, but they pulled it for 8 long hrs with 8 episodes...
spoiler alert- you still won't know who dun it.
The Wall (2017)
Not bad AT ALL, it was good actually
I read the reviews and got very confused, either it was pathetic or very good. Decided to see for my self; and boy it was good. It was made with fine detailing and real challenges the soldiers face in real world scenarios. I guess the people who gave a 1 or 2 star were hoping something like a superhero Avenger like action and wit. But that's not happens really, isn't it. I would give it a 7/10. But giving 10, so that it's rating gets a boost, because it definitely did not, does absolutely not deserve a 1, or 2 or even 3 or 4. Good job! You wil not regret, go for it.
Shikara (2020)
Absolutely disappointed
I am so disappointed with this movie. Vidhu Vinod chopra has so tried to white wash everything and make it a politically correct movie. It looks like his fear of controversy and being tagged as a Hindu Fanatic has made him completely bypassed what actually happened to Kashmiri Pandits. As a filmmaker and a Kashmiri Pandit himself, it was his responsibility to show the truth to the world, convey the pain of Kashmiri Pandits. But what he did was taking advantage of countries current scenario and earn bucks. If James Cameron came to know that he has completely hidden the trauma they went through, he would review it differently. If I am so disappointed, I can't imagine how the grief stricken Kashmiri Pandits would be.
Chhapaak (2020)
Important message with a dragging narrative
I am here with an unbiased review. The movie definitely gives a strong message, questioning the standards of beauty, gender justice and further victimising of the victim. But this could have been done with a crisp and effective narrative, but it was dragging at many points, it could not touch the soul as it was supposed to. Also there was one too many emotions... I truly believe Sanjay Leela bhansali has the skill of taking out the best of heroines, examples are Aishwarya and now is Deepika. They fail to prove themselves if away from his directive lense. Deepika did well, but not impressive. Vikrant Massey was brilliant and effortless... 💯 points to him. Meghna Gulzar has given us heart touching movies in the past, but unfortunately for her, Deepika failed her.
