The White Lotus: Departures (2021)
Beautiful but shallow
Cinematography and music were brilliant. Thats about it. No depth to the characters because there was no time to develop anyone. The twist at the end, other than Armands surprise in the suitcase, were long expected, and it fell flat. How does that idiot get away with murder, exactly?
And that she has all this tension only to go back to that idiot?
Jennifer coolidge was hard to watch because she looked high or too much sun half the time, sentences incoherent and painful.
The son, Quinn, was the only person i empathized with and smiled for his ending, as he was the only one worthy of anything good.
I cant say i was disappointed, as i had no expectations for this show, but man, that was challenging to get through.
Miranda (2009)
Late to the game but i "plunged" in
I kept seeing clips from BBC abot this tv series and i finally got around to watching and wished i had seen it sooner. It is slapstick physical comedy that at times, had redundancy but by far some of the best jokes and moments you can say "that is me, or that is my family". And one of the joyous series finales i have watched, heartwarming and tears along with laughs. You cannot get better than Miranda and her first person conversations with the audience, her "words of the day" and her ability to never take herself seriously until she needs to, which i absolutely admire and respect. Wonderfully funny show, was so glad i could watch it all without having to wait, better late than never, have a go at it!
