Dead Boy Detectives (2024)
New incredible fantasy show
I didn't think this show would be so good. It really surprised me, I don't know exactly what I expected, but I definitely enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. I LOVE all the characters, especially Jenny! I really hope for a second season, because they CANNOT leave us like this.
It's really a beautiful series, the stories are all interesting and well developed, the acting is 10/10 and also the dynamics that are created between the various characters keep you attached to the screen until the last episode.
If you're looking for a show that is light, funny and has a hint of angst, then this is the series for you. I highly recommend it!
Ripley (2024)
New underrated masterpiece!
Ripley is so brilliant I'm watching it for the third time in less than a week. Every single shot is a wonder, a masterpiece of photographic beauty, places, details and people. It's so slow, it's rewiring my ADHD brain in the most relieving and satisying way. I can't explain it. Rather than the pointless pace of most new shows, Ripley is spell binding and engrossing with its slowness, beauty, subtext, minimalism of acting and dialogue, extraordinary cinematography, locations and period. I can't gush enough. Andrew Scott is totally brilliant. This thing is a masterpiece. A game changer. A definitely recommend.
Gisaengsu: Deo geurei (2024)
A must watch for horror lovers and for the anime lovers
Is a sequel of the original parasyte story it base on a same universe, everything is perfect vfx, cast , plot ,fighting scene whatever, the grey is as good as the anime in my opinion also is more suitable for adult audience ,at the end of The Grey the cameo for Shinichi make me very suprise and also very excited for season two. I hope they will make season two!!!! In conclusion "Parasyte:The Grey" is a 10/10 It was perfect. Perfect. Everything ,down to the last minute detials loved every moment of this thought provoking Masterpiece! I have become a HUGE fan of all the Actors. My favourite is Lee Jung-hyun. I highly recommend. I want a Season Two.
Baby Reindeer (2024)
Mind blowing!!!
I did not expect such a rollercoaster of emotions. I thought I'd just have a few laughs but it gets pretty heavy. I shed a few tears with Donny and even felt sad for Martha. She's very lonely and really needs help that she isn't getting. Yes she is off her rocker and totally dangerous of course, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for her and understood in a way Donny's struggle even as I wanted to scream at the TV to go to the cops already!!! This was a great show. Had I not started it so late I would have finished it in one sitting but I had to impatiently wait for the last 2 episodes the next night. And the ending! So heartbreakingly good!
3 Body Problem (2024)
So Far It's a Near Perfect Adaptation
So far a good representation of the book for a format meant for a casual audience. I went in not expecting the depth of the science and story I read in the books. For the format and general audiences I think it will be a great step into the world of Rememberence of Earths Past. If people want the full impact they will need to read the books, if you want a fairly on par dramatization go with the Chinese show, for a spectacle quick fix of the world, I think this is perfect for that. So far I very much enjoy this. It changes a few things but overall I really like this. They did a great job at keeping me interested !!!!
Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
Best adaptation ever !
Being scared of a hit or miss due to the last movie that must not be mentioned. Avatar fans will enjoy this show the most. Even for people who have never seen the cartoon will understand what's going on because it explains/shows it in the best way. Personally, I was always so excited after each and every episode with new people who show up and events I remember from the animated show. The character development is definitely there, the scenery and costumes are more great than expected. 10/10 recommend! (I hope it does as well as I like it, i'm sure the budget will get even better if it does great).
One Day (2024)
Incredible new show!
Sublime chemistry and a stunning performance from Leo Woodall and Ambika Mod, who both portrayed love and friendship, success and failure in sharp focus throughout. Far greater than its movie predecessor, watching this had me constantly hoping for a different ending, a new twist to the story. The backdrop of the 90s and early noughties was both beautiful and messy, just like the time itself and anyone 'of an age' will be hard pushed not to be transported back to their own rollercoaster days of finding themselves and forging their path into the future. Without a doubt, Emma and Dexter grew up together.
Boy Swallows Universe (2024)
What a surprise!
This was one of the most fantastic, authentic mini series I have ever watched. Loved every episode and am so proud of the fantastic actors, producers and directors and whoever else was involved in making this a masterpiece of filmmaking. Boy Swallows Universe is so entertaining and real and I am so proud of everyone involved with bringing this story to life. Well done guys! P. S. I have a real life story you maybe interested in. PM if interested! I hope you win an awesome award for your contribution and achievements to the entertainment industry! .
A show that no one thought it will be that amazing, surprise if the year for sure !
Griselda (2024)
Amazing show, wondering why low rating!
The art direction, the atmosphere and the performances are very good, especially Sofia, who manages that from the first second we stop thinking about Gloria from Modern Family and start seeing Griselda, I was surprised by her performance. It was really well made. The only thing was that it could have been a longer series. Only 6 episodes cant do justice for Griselda. Highly recommended. Sofia has me hooked already. I'm Cuban with my family in Miami so, I've known about this story for a long time. Very well done. Can't wait to watch more! "The only man I was ever afraid of was a woman...named Griselda Blanco."
The Brothers Sun (2024)
they should have promote this show more
One of the best action TV series to ever hit streaming! Within the first 5 minutes, you are hooked and immediately on the edge of your seat for the rest of the series. Honestly its a stellar cast, you felt the stakes were high. The pacing of the show was perfect, even the 'filler' moments felt like it was meaningful in terms of establishing backstory and inter-character relationships. Can easily binge this in a day without stopping. Michelle Yeoh is just incredible in everything that she does, but she nailed her role as the caring mother. HIGHLY RECOMMEND, this could be action/TV series of the year.
Boku no Daemon (2023)
Mind blowing!
The animation was very interesting and the story was really good. It was truly a surprise by how much I enjoyed watching the series. One of the best things I've ever watched, it has good plot, good characters, amazing animation, and more! :D there is a bit of gore and more than a few scenes with blood as well, which (in my opinion) adds to how good it is by not pretending that characters can't get hurt. Also, this has found family trope in it and that's amazing. I love found family and action, especially with kid protagonists. I recommend everyone to watch it!!!!!!!!! >O< Would definitely watch again and hoping for a season 2 announcement if possible.
Rebel Moon - Part One: A Child of Fire (2023)
Simply amazing work
This visually stunning sci-fi epic is amazing! Better than most of what Hollywoods 200 mil + movies had offered us lately. It's so impressive how wrong the critics were. A movie for you and your girl/partner will enjoy on a Friday night with food! It automatically hooks you in to the story the bad guys were great antagonist! The main character Kora was bad ass in such a believable way no Mary sue who isn't afraid of being sexy and powerful. But this movie will leave you wanting MORE! Your gonna want more character backgrounds, more worlds to visit, more aliens to see, more fights and when the 3hr DIRECTORS CUT comes out we will have more! I cannot withhold my anticipation for part 2 in April. A great watch!
Yu yu hakusho (2023)
Recommend to All
This is a good gateway series to be a fan of the Yuyu Hakusho in case you are not aware of it yet. For older fans such as myself, it's great that this adaptation is getting talked about again. While the adaptation removed certain arcs to condense it to a 5 episode series. The elements are strong. Top tier fighting scenes, the casting was nailed, great acting, amazing cinematography (vfx, CGI, color grading), and bad ass musical score. This adaptation is more close to the Manga compared to its Anime counterpart part. If you read the Manga you know what I mean. This series still brings magic and nostalgia. Amazing job to all the people who did the hard work.
All the Light We Cannot See (2023)
DON'T LISTEN TO THE HATERS
Beatifully crafted as a rare jewel with amazing photography and music, this powerful and touching drama will endure in your memory for years. Viewing impaired actress Aria Mia Loberti is absolutely captivating in the main role, she deserves an EMMY for that role, her first one by the way. And the rest of the cast is absolutely bright (Laurie, Ruffalo and Hofmann) . This is an instant classic, please don't trust the critics this time, they are just wrong, this series is a rare J jewel, just don't touch it with your bare hands...
I'm disappointed by all the bad reviews . I highly recommend it..
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (2023)
Amazing work!
As someone who saw the movie and haven't read the comics, I thought this would be a great way to experience that story. Boy was I surprised. This show wasn't what I expected but it absolutely exceeded my expectations as its own original story, while still being faithful to the characters. 10/10 wouldn't recommend on its own because it would be kind of confusing but would absolutely recommend to anyone who saw and enjoyed the movie. And ofc anyone who's read the comics.
I hope they renew it .
In the next season it would be cool if they adapted the entire comic before continuing with the current story.
Blue Eye Samurai (2023)
Just perfect
Blue Eye Samurai is a captivating show that truly exceeded my expectations. The animation alone is a visual feast for the eyes, with stunning attention to detail and fluid movements that brought the characters and their world to life. Every frame felt meticulously crafted, showing the dedication and talent of the animators. Not only was the animation top-notch, but the story was equally compelling. From start to finish, Blue Eye Samurai kept me on the edge of my seat, eager to see what would happen next. It cleverly weaved together elements of action, drama, and mystery, creating a truly engaging narrative that captivated both my imagination and emotions. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an engrossing anime.
Bodies (2023)
Don't understand why all the hate!
Normally, I don't like watching any show there too far off reality. My work around personally is to imagine this is an AR. Experience alternative reality line. This well-made well thought out intelligent series is both gripping and one of those that you just can't put down. Thoroughly recommended can't really go into detail because I hate spoilers myself, and I am the kind of person where one word could just Spoil the whole show , I will try though, a story spanning 4 different time periods. Through each episode, everything is gradually revealed completely. So here's three words . Just watch enthralling.
The Fall of the House of Usher (2023)
Another Masterpiece From Mike!
Drama, excitement and suspense combined with horror. No one can do it with the same quality and greatness that Mike Flanagan does. Imagine the atmosphere of the Succession series with the horror aspect added to it!
The intended scenario runs on 3 different lines in parallel and in a way that makes you excited to see where each line is going and what will happen, with links of course between these lines and a great use of foreshadowing that keeps you excited all the time.
The usual acting choices that Mike brings in all his works. Of course, I don't need to talk about the wonderful quality they provide, and this is also helped by the very good writing and drawing of the different characters.
Carla Gugino was the top performer, and Mark Hamill was eating up the atmosphere with any appearance he had and created a amazing character. Bruce Greenwood's choice to be the voice over in the narrative was excellent and added an unnatural prestige to the scenes.
I am very happy with the series, frankly. The ending of the episodes was one of the best. I also linked the names of the episodes to the names of the short stories by Edgar Alain Bo. I liked it very much.. A series worth your time.
One Piece (2023)
Best show of the year!!
Initially I was apprehensive because of anime adaptation productions for live action. I've been watching and reading onepiece for 20 years and this series so represents the spirit of this work that I love so much. I was very happy with the result!
And I have to say , Honestly, the best live action anime adaptation I've ever seen. This is coming from someone who loves One Piece. So, I was looking for reasons to criticise it, and there are some flaws.. but there were also things this series improved on the original. Overall, I you all should watch it , totally recommend it. Its a great! Lets go season 2!!!!
Sanyanggaedeul (2023)
Incredible show!
The story hooks you from the beginning, every detail is important and the scenes are concise.
The chemistry of the characters is something
genuine that captivates from the first minute. The
script is unpredictable, full of emotion and with a
lot of fighting! The fights were very well prepared
and with a lot of adrenaline. With a duo of
millions! Iconic scenes, funny, emotional and
much, much more beautifully done
if you're looking for a kdrama that's not boring
and bland then you're on a right place.
This is probably the best kdrama that got me
hooked up since the glory..
A wonderful Ending!
Sankuchuari -seiiki- (2023)
A hidden gem !
I'm a fan of martial arts but never really looked into Sumo. This was a very good introduction on my opinion and seeing how raw it is in the dohyo/sumo stable, I was really hooked in. They train much harder than I expected them to. The fights feels super real and the character development is good. The main character is so cool and so charismatic as an angry young man. Move over New Wave bad boys! Kiyoshi / Ichinose Wataru is bad ass! And speaking of "oshiri," there are lots of cool looking guys in this show giving sumo their all. Love this show.. I felt the emotions many times and I am hoping for a second season.
The Diplomat (2023)
One of the best of 2023!!
Top notch acting from the entire cast, even the smallest side characters, and excellent dialogue make this series the best of the year so far. Odly, the story itself can be described in only a few lines, but the writers make the most of it. There is a bit of a bore around the middle of the season, but that is brushed away at the end. The only thing that is a bit off is the relationship between the two main characters. These actors have such good chemistry on screen (or they are just such great actors that they fake that to perfection) that you wonder why the hell she would want a divorce. Obviously they know each other to the core, which makes her stated reason frankly absurd. Could be jealousy on her part, but that does not rhyme with what we see of her. Oh and her security detail sometimes consists of 3 people, but I guess they are on a 9 to 5 because often they are nowhere in sight. And her husband, who is a well known ambassador himself, is apparantly not worth protecting.
Beef (2023)
What a ride !!
I never understood when people would say "I have never felt more seen". This is exactly how this show made me feel.
I relived my life through this show and everything it represented.
The best type of dark comedy you can ask for with episodes of fierce emotions. And bravo to the entire cast but specifically David Choe who really brought it in his first large production show. As always, Steve Yeun and Ali Wong have given an outstanding performance. I hope this show doesn't end with one season. Netflix killed it. *slow clap*
Definitely recommend to all , go watch it every one maybe we won with season 2.
Wednesday (2022)
What an enjoyable ride
I will start to say , the actors is very good , however all the characters were well rounded and played well.
I really Loved it. Adult humor. Dark
The start is less intriguing at first, but once you get going you're hooked very quick! The plot is super fun to watch; a mystery mixed in with teenage drama (of course). The mystery aspect is really riveting, and I was guessing along the whole time to try and solve it myself. Overall, this show was amazing!
Netflix are killing it this day , first 1899 , now this.
What a big win for Netflix.
Definitely Would recommend both shows .
And enough of the nonsense hate.
The Gray Man (2022)
Wows!!
I don't why all the hate on this !
It was one of best movies on this year
Absolutely deserve more than 6.5 , shame on you ppl , it was perfect cast , fun fast paced, and will done action movie
10/10.
