Please. Don't. Watch. This is like a Woody Allen movie without the comedy. I can't imagine anything more boring than this. I would like to corner the writer and director and demand my money back plus a fine for wasting my time. I feel sorry for the actors who will be vilified for foisting this mess on the public.

I read all the negative reviews but looking at the cast and director, I knew it had to have some merit. Having lived in L.A. for a while back in the 80s, I know that there really are people like the characters in this movie there. I met a few of them. They mean no harm, they just have a different way of living and a different worldview. Some of them are actually really good people who just have some difficulty with contemporary America's "surveillance capitalism" and do not want to participate. Can you blame them? I don't.

It was so boring, self-indulgent and annoying that I had to skip ahead several times and there was just more boring and annoying self-indulgence. Watching paint dry is more entertaining than this.

I suppose if you're an actor you might like this. I can't imagine anyone else enjoying it. Leno Olin's voice droning on and on and on just put me off completely.

I know what I'm talking about. I'm 70 and served in Vietnam. Sending American troops to the Middle East is every bit as stupid as sending them to Vietnam was. Trillions of dollars and many lives simply wasted. Vietnam gave us nothing and Iraq and Afghanistan will give us nothing except a reputation as wasteful idiots.

Getting Bin Laden was necessary but prosecuting a war accomplishes nothing. It only impoverishes us both financially and in reputation. I was drafted but today's troops are all volunteers so they have no one to blame but themselves. I would have never gone into the military during Vietnam if there was no draft. Even as a teenager I could see it was a pointless waste of American resources and a huge mistake. The Pentagon Papers proved me right, so did history.

I thought the documentary was very well done. We have to stop these politicians from taking us to war on little or no evidence of a quick and positive outcome.

I'm not much for the family drama genre of movies but with this cast I just had to see it all the way through. It's rare you see so much acting talent in one film. I bet Rainn Wilson was overjoyed to learn he'd be working with this amazing pool of talent.

True to form, the acting was predictably great but I simply can't give the movie more than a 7 because family dramas, good or bad, just bore and annoy me regardless of quality. The good is the the acting and the cinematography. The bad is the script, but as I said, I'm not much for family dramas.

If you like this type of movie, you'll most likely enjoy it immensely. It might even get an Oscar nomination.
