Mind Game (2004)
One of the most enjoyable experiences in anime
Absolutely unconventional and totally unforgettable. I was only lucky enough to hear about this film in a YouTube countdown of top adult anime films and I was immediately captivated by its unique style of animation; a brilliant mix of anime and film. After searching the web and watching it in less than executable quality, i found a true gem of a film. With its intriguing stylizations of expression that go as far as obscuring the lines of life and death, reality and fantasy, love and hate... a real treat is in store for audiences (17 years and older). Do not expect anything that might mirror the pristine outlines of Studio Ghibli's masterworks. Instead, discover that there are many other unforgettable masterpieces in the world of anime films. Mind Games is a film that all anime fans MUST see before they die. Jot this one on your bucket list.
The Dark Knight (2008)
The Dark Knigh- The Most Overrated 'Movie' of All Time!!!!!!!
Ill give The Dark Knight 1 out of 10 stars, just so that its rating on the website will go down, because it doesn't deserve to be anywhere on the top 250 list.
Its incredible that heath ledgers acting carried the entire movie on its feet while the rest of the cast tries to entertain us with mediocre acting, plain action scenes, bad screen writing, and the worst batman of all the movies, Christian bail with all his terrible speech impediments! I wouldn't think twice to consider this a 'film.' The original Tim Burton version is a film. it's sequel is a film. but christopher nolan puts a horrid scratch in the line of movies. The dark knight with its mediocre plot, character development, story, acting (exception of course for heath ledger) just makes for a not so epic 'movie' only worthy of a 6 out of 10 rating.
The Dark Knight sucks! You don't understand film if you think this mess is an exceptional piece of cinema.
And i hope that Daniel day lewis will turn down the joker roll for the next movie. they're getting the best actor possible to play the joker, hoping that he'll do the same as heath did, score 500 million in the box office.
RIP Heath
The Happening (2008)
Such great potential, such a weak story
and um...
well... where to start? many people are considering this as M Night Shama-lama-ding-dong's worst movie yet... i'll stick up for the failing director and say that this was Definitely better than Lafy in the Water.
over all, i personally enjoyed watching this movie. the concept was very interesting. its an idea that i myself wouldn't mind writing a script for and possibly making a new movie on. its an idea that has extreme potential, potential for infinite possibilities for an audience to see in a movie. but possibilities that M Night refused to give us... and it just leaves the viewer asking themself, "Why not?" many people say this movie is simply full of terrible acting. i disagree. i wont deny that i spotted several parts throughout the film where the acting was weak.. but i believe that M Night was trying to achieve the reality of how ordinary people would act in a situation such as 'the happening'. but in my opinion, i think some of the acting was certainly in need of better directing.
and i couldn't help myself... i had to laugh when they ran from the villain of the movie... the wind, HAHAHA!!! but there's one fatal error that M Night made in this movie. its too simple. although hes known for being a simplistic director, shamalan went way overboard with the idea of trying to create a movie as simply as possible. in return, he ended up creating a movie where nothing actually... 'happend' (no pun intended). it seemed too simple.. so simple, that it looked like the entire film was pulled off with less than a million dollar budget! and with most of the budget going to the two big name stars of the flick; Mark Walberg and John Leguizamo and M Night's first R rated film????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? that was PG-13 all the way! unless if the version i saw was edited, (which i saw via internet sources from japan) but this movie was just... OK. i give props for an interesting idea to mass human suicide, but the movie loses points for such a WEAK story.
with all due respect, M Night Shamalan needs to stop writing movies. not directing, but writing. hes an incredible director, and comes up with amazing ideas to films, but he should make like steven Spielberg and hire somebody to wirte his scripts for him.
The Happening (where nothing happened) 5.9 out of 10 stars
Saw III (2006)
All the Makings of a Terrible Movie
After the first two films, the first being amazing and the second lacking, the decision was made to create another Saw movie. What a disaster. From the very start, I was immediately turned off by the film, and I couldn't see how anybody who could read that screenplay say to themselves "Yes! Let's make this into a movie!!!" After starting off in complete darkness and hearing constant profanity, which i really have nothing against, it just seemed to be completely unnecessary. Who needs to start a film with somebody screaming the F word 100 times? But after suffering through the beginning, there was more horror to endure, and I'm not talking about the fact that its a scary movie... there was utter and completely unnecessary gore. Why do you need to show such graphic gore? Who wants to see it? I admit i like to see a guy get himself blown up in an explosion or tortured like in the movie Casino, but this movie was terrible.
Never go see it. It was a waste of time, I wanted my money back, and I was appalled to hear that a fourth movie was in the works.
I haven't seen such a terrible movie since Catwoman or Solaris.
Catwoman (2004)
Never has a movie disgusted me so much
I have seen hundreds of movies and I admit that some weren't of the highest quality. But this movie takes the gold medal for the worst movie I've ever seen, but it sucks so much that it doesn't deserve gold, it deserves dirt. First of all the CG animation was 20 times worse that The Matrix 2, (and if anybody has seen that movie then they know bad CG work). Second, the acting was horrific. Berry is at her worst and the dude who's always on random TV shows should stay on those TV shows. This movie had some crappy casting. Thirdly, the story was bad enough that not even Goerge Bush would use the script as toilet paper. It amazes me, how can you make a movie that you know is gonna suck? I thank Jesus that i didn't waste my money on seeing this load of cow crap in the theaters. I'm just ashamed of myself for watching the whole thing at home. This movie is a 1 out of 10, because IMDb wouldn't let me vive it a 0. Catwoman sucks.
Solaris (2002)
solaris
this movie was a piece of crap, absolutely terrible. what a waste of my time.
i tried paying attention to it but the horrific cinematography annoyed me way too much. the story was too confusing. its one of those films that gives you 1 hour and 30 mins of stupid, confusing, crap and in the last 10 minutes, tries to explain everything to you. but fails miserably.
i expected more from an Oscar winning director, who directed some of my favorite films, oceans 11-13, Erin brockavich, and of course, traffic(my fav).
i cant really say much more for a movie that makes no sense, thats why i tried watching it again, but i got nothing out of it. i thing people are being very generous with giving it a rating of 6 out of 10. i give it a 2 for creativity.
