A Quiet Place (2018)
Doesn't make any sense to me
I just finished watching "A Quiet Place," and I have to admit that it left me feeling quite frustrated and disappointed. The premise of the movie is intriguing - a world overrun by sound-sensitive creatures where silence is the key to survival. However, I found several aspects of the film difficult to swallow.
Firstly, the elder daughter's behavior really irked me. Her recklessness, especially after being responsible for her younger brother's tragic death, felt unrealistic and insensitive, given the dire circumstances the family was in.
What baffled me even more was the family's decision not to use the gun they had at their disposal. It seemed like a logical choice in a world where silence was paramount. Yet, they rarely utilized it, which left me scratching my head.
Furthermore, the father's decision to rely on an axe rather than the sound-amplifying device he had ingeniously created was perplexing. The whole idea of a carefully crafted amplifier going unused was a missed opportunity.
Considering the high ratings and praise this movie has received, I had high expectations, but I couldn't help feeling that it fell short. It's a real shame, as the concept and suspenseful atmosphere had so much potential. "A Quiet Place" is undoubtedly not for everyone, and it left me feeling like it was a wasted opportunity to fully explore the intriguing premise it introduced.
Asoka (2001)
A must watch!
"Asoka" is a cinematic gem that holds a special place in my heart. From the moment the captivating tale of Emperor Asoka Maurya, brought to life by the incomparable Shah Rukh Khan, unfolded on the screen, I was spellbound. The visually stunning landscapes, mesmerizing performances, and the powerful narrative of love, political intrigue, and self-discovery made this film an unforgettable experience for me. Santosh Sivan's direction breathed life into ancient India, immersing me in its grandeur. The chemistry between Khan and Kareena Kapoor was electric, and their love story touched my soul. "Asoka" stands tall as a timeless classic, reminding me of the magic of storytelling and the brilliance of Indian cinema. A must-watch that left a lasting impact on me.
Pett Kata Shaw (2022)
Something fresh.
The first episode did not appeal to me in the least. After watching episode 1, I had my doubts regarding the overall quality of the series. That's all there is to it.
In regards to episode 2, the beginning was fantastic, and I was immediately hooked. However, they were unable to maintain the essence till the very end ( obviously in my opinion). It could have a more satisfying conclusion.
And then there's Episode 3, which is a work of art. My God, it's so brilliantly done. I was hypnotized. 10/10.
Episode 4 was also enjoyable, however the end was predictable. I guess it would be better if they chose another actress Except Masuda khan, i didn't like her performance at all.
Mai (2022)
Very slow and boring.
I feel like this series is stretched to the point it feels so unrealistic and boring. I get it, parents can do anything for the sake of their children, but in this series they gave "Mai" Superpowers to do anything. Too much unnecessary stuffs and the main character becomes annoying so many times.
Contract (2021)
very disappointing. Terrible acting, waste of time.
If you value your time, Don't watch it.
I'm not going to discuss the plot; this series is claimed to be based on Md Nazim Uddin's book "Contract." Before watching it, I read the reviews and found that most of them were negative. Still, I decided to give it a go. Guess what? I couldn't finish this, it was THAT bad. The first two episodes were fine, but after that it was all over the place. It hurts my eyes to keep watching this since the acting is so awful. I get that the filmmaker wanted to make this a commercial one, but they strayed so far from the original book that I'm not sure whether it's actually an adaptation. In terms of the cast, I detested "Aisha Khan's" acting the most; the girl played Uma. Her acting and speaking were both dreadful. Arefin Shuvo was flexing his muscles and putting on the cliche hitman act. And as for Chanchal, I've seen enough of his work to know that this series is not one of his best.
So, 5 episodes later, I realized I've successfully wasted my time. And, thank God, I came to a halt at that point.
No Bed of Roses (2017)
A beautiful movie
I had an awesome experience watching this film. Nice plot, flawless acting. This was nailed by Irfan Khan & Tisha. This film may not give you an emotional journey of the roller-coaster variety, but you can feel emotion flowing through each scene. Lovely visuals, too.
The White Tiger (2021)
Not worth the hype.
As a fan of the book, I expected a lot. I know movie can never fully represent the book but the thing is, the movie didn't seem thrilling to me at all. I felt like the lead actor wasn't very comfortable in acting while speaking english. His expressions seemed so bland to me. Also the storytelling part was so boring, not attractive or engaging.
Taqdeer (2020)
amazing, you'll get better than what you had expected.
Ok,honestly I didn't expect too much when I started this. But let me tell you, this is the best bangla web series. From cast, screenplay, cinematography-everything is up to the point. Must watch if you're up for the thrill. 10/10.
The Devil All the Time (2020)
Exciting one, made me jump at so many scenes!
I didn't expect this movie to be this exciting. In short, this movie points finger at what blind belief on religion does to people. Ngl,at one point, me myself was also hating the point of religion. Amazing acting and cinematography. You won't feel like your time has wasted,if you're up for a good thrill.
Spider-Man: Far from Home (2019)
Great movie
As a person who's not into superhero stuffs, I'm quite impressed with this one. (it's not like I don't see superhero movies, I do actually, just not so much of a fan of them). and this one has a great, believable & possible storyline. Tom Holland did amazing, throughout the movie. Also I like zendaya's version of MJ. Not to mention the superior vfx, watch this movie & you'll findout.
Frozen II (2019)
totally disappointing
Very disappointing. If you have watched frozen's first part, you know your expectation will be a little high. But this movie disappointed me so much from start to end,it's full of nothing but songs & songs,I had to be so patient & tell myself constantly that " probably the ending is better, just wait a bit" & guess what? When I finished this movie, I felt like I just wasted my time.
Family Guy (1999)
best show ever!
I never get bored & tired watching this. Made my quarantine better! The characters are hilarious.
