The Mandalorian: Chapter 8: Redemption (2019)
Season 1, Episode 8
10/10
How do I rate this 11?
30 December 2019
First & foremost #thankyouTAIKAWAITITI, for creating the single greatest episode of television I've watched this year.

Almost every single frame of this episode is expertly shot, and masterfully executed by Waititi & company. The most interesting element of this episode IMO would be the opening prologue. I never thought I'd be able to see this type of scene executed in the Star Wars universe. Bravo Taika, I do hope you come back for Season Two.

Almost every major television series keeps the audience on the edge of their seat anticipating the next week's episode with high curiosity. The Mandalorian took us on an incredible journey over the past 7 weeks, and helped remind long time fans why we love Star Wars in the first place. We are eagerly anticipating new and exciting stories, told with originality, new direction, and embracing the heart of what makes this franchise so amazing.

Bring on Season Two!

A ground-shaking tour De force from Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan
17 September 2013
After just coming back from a late night showing of Fruitvale Station, I have to say I was thoroughly impressed by the dynamic level of acting and filmmaking that I've just witnessed. Not a very avid fan of Michael B. Jordan, although after seeing him in Chronicle, I had a feeling this would be a movie where he's truly be allowed to shake things up and play a more risky character than what he's used to portraying. The movie is an intense, in your face, edge of your seat ride that keeps you emotionally connected to the characters and as the story progresses at a natural, authentic pace, you can't help feel that the story plays closer to the heart than it does to the screen.

Ryan Coogler is given an exceptional nod for his crafting of the story based on actual events and his unique breakdown of all the individual characters portrayed in the movie. I feel as if he's created his own little slice of "Highland" and placed it inside the 85 minutes that Fruitvale Station steals you away from reality and places you in the life of an ordinary person on an ordinary day.

The story is really what makes the movie so interesting, not knowing exactly what to expect going in, Fruitvale Station introduces viewers to Oscar Grant (Michael B. Jordan) and his life encompassing the last day of 2008, and the events that follow the next morning. While the film doesn't drag and the action is contained if not for a slight moment, this film is one that will be remembered for generations as the "independent film that stays with you, even after you know what to expect".

Michael B. Jordan is exceptional in his role as Oscar, and I wouldn't be surprised if this movie gets some "Oscar" buzz this upcoming year (pun intended). His portrayal of his character is near flawless and Ryan Coogler's directing/writing skills are also worth an honourable mention. The chemistry and dynamic between these two artists is evident and the film shines brighter than any film I've yet to see this year.

An engrossing story, a message that keeps you in discussions for hours, a fast paced action, a love story, a coming of age tale. Fruitvale Station is all of these things and more, for those still doubting as to whether or not its worth the ticket. Don't let it pass you by, you just might miss something amazing . . .

Saw 3D (2010)
9/10
Every saga eventually dies . . .
28 October 2010
But you might as well go out with a bang! Saw 3D is without a doubt the perfect conclusion to the long drawn out horror/torture franchise. After Saw 3, fan base has slowly started to decline over the years, but fortunately with the help of Saw VI, and Saw 3D's brilliant director, Kevin Greutert, the saga has come to a brilliant, yet well-deserved ending.

The acting has taken a tremendous leap from the previous films, and the traps . . . Ooh, don't get me started, you have to see it to learn more. FYI, not for the little ones; this movie will make you cringe, wrestle, and writhe with terror for Greutert's display of violence and gore.

Without a doubt, this is Saw's biggest and most daring achievement, but it is one to be admired. Its brought the series up from its metaphorical rut, which would be Saw 3, Saw 4, and Saw 5, but in the end, you will be satisfied. Worth every single penny, and in brain-twisting 3D. Saw 3D, is this year's, Halloween treat to the movies.

The Hangover (2009)

One of the funniest comedies since SUPERBAD!!!!
12 June 2009
I had to admit that I was a bit skeptical about seeing this movie, I'm not a big Todd Phillips fan and Road Trip and Old School were slightly disappointing to me in the light that I thought they could be way more dirtier.

This movie proved to me that Todd Phillips was holding back for a reason: This movie contains some of the funniest comedic scenes you will ever see on-camera. Most notably is Zach Galifianakis, who pretty much owned every scene in this movie with his awkwardness and witty dialogue. Another great newcomer is Bradley Cooper from "Wedding Crashers" who did a great job leading the rest of the cast. I'm pretty sure that those two have a big career laid out for them after this movie.

The movie contained so many great comedic moments and hilarity that I found it hard to keep still in theaters, I noticed a few other people sitting next to me with the same problem.

All in all, a great comedy not to be missed, you'll love the baby, you'll love the tiger and you'll love Mike Tyson. This is a hangover you'll definitely enjoy over and over.

The Coen's brothers in their prime!
11 September 2008
Without a doubt, Burn After Reading is one of the best movies The Coen Brothers have ever made. I say one of the best because it's hard to compare an out of control serious comedy like this, to something like No Country for Old Men.

The film is brilliant in every single aspect: the story, the characters, the actors, everything! Especially for those that haven't seen something like this before: it's so worth it! On one hand you have George Clooney taking his acting skills to whole new areas especially after he just made some awesome movies like Syrannia, Michael Clayton, and Leatherheads, Frances Mcdormand playing a total pessimist, John Malkovitch stealing every scene simply by his reactions to everything,he kind of reminded me of the character "Seth" from Superbad, only way older, smarter, and a bit thinner. Tilda Swinton's right where she should be playing the "cold-hard bitch", much like her recent roles in Narnia and Clayton. And Brad Pitt, whose role in the movie made me laugh almost every second he was on screen, it was something he's never done before, but that's what made it so perfect!

Above all, the movie is almost flawless, it's kind of hard to find a perfect comedy out there, but this one had almost everything work out for it. Whether or not you like the Coen brothers, or even if you didn't like No Country for Old Men, Burn After Reading is the perfect comedy for those that truly believe:, "Intelligence is relative". Good job Joel and Ethan! 10/10

Not as good as 1 & 2 but still pretty good
7 January 2008
I'm not a big fan of spin-offs, but this movie actually wasn't that bad compared to the 2 other spin-offs of American Pie just recently made (Naked Mile & Beta House).

This movie was okay because it still kept a general sense of what the original American Pie was about, and even though it was Stifler's little brother, it still felt a lot Sean William Scott when you're watching him. I also like the fact that this one is clean enough to be edited down and shown on TV unlike any other American Pie movie so far.

This movie also has a better ending than any other American Pie movie I've seen because Stifler actually learned a lesson and changed his attitude/behavior it felt somewhat nicer for me to see a happy ending rather than a big party scene at the end of every movie.

All in all, my favorite from the spin-offs so far. i recommend it to anyone, who's ever gone to band camp or plays in a band, and who likes American pie.

Oh and by the way, "This one time, at band camp, my sister whacked me in the head with her clarinet."

Stifler Returns!
7 January 2008
Wow, this was another good spin off of the original American pie, not as good as band camp, but definitely a lot better the naked mile. Dwight and Erik stifler lead the comedy in this one, but I actually preferred the dialogue in this one to the naked mile. The script was written a lot better and the comedy flowed more smoothly, however most of the comedy came from sex, but that's okay because that's why we watch these movies anyway right?

The midget Rock also had a really good cameo, considering the intense effort given by him in the naked mile, his scene with stifler was awesome and had me laughing my ass off when i saw it.

The movie was a definite improvement in my opinion compared to the naked mile, if you liked any previous American Pie films, you should like beta house, unless you view all of the American pie spin-offs a waste of money.

Superbad (2007)

Seth Rogan & Evan Goldberg are geniuses!
25 October 2007
Without a doubt, Superbad is one of the best movies ever made, period! And considering that this movie was written by 2 13 year old kids years ago, that's saying a lot.

I honestly could not stop laughing while watching this movie, the jokes were all raw and original, and the acting was superb, and the movie never got boring! I can honestly recommend every teenager that enjoys high school comedies to go see this movie. It makes American Pie look like a preschool film!

The only negative thing I can say about this film is that it is not one that parents might enjoy, and is not exactly what parents might call "healthy entertainment'. But who cares? The movie is funny hands down, Seth Rogan & Evan Goldberg deserve an Academy award for best original screenplay next year. When I came home from watching this movie, I was still laughing, and so hyped up. My parents asked me, "Are you drunk, are you high?". I just replied,"No, I'm Superbad."

One of the best Dance movies in years
14 February 2007
Straight up: Anybody who thought that this movie was awful, you have to be out of your mind! I mean I know that the acting wasn't that great, and the script was horrible, but that's not why people went to go watch it! People go to a theater and pay $5-$10 to see this movie for one reason: The dancing! If you're a big fan of dancing, this movie is perfect for you. Some of the moves might seem familiar is you've watched You Got Served. I was honestly blown away by the talent these guys have, they rock! Bottom line is: the dancing was great, the acting not so much. But take into consideration 3 things: a) the setting is Atlanta Georgia where most people in real life do act like that. b) For some of these actors like Ne-Yo and Chris Brown it was their first movie, so cut them some slack! c) It's also the director's first time directing a movie and to direct one this complicated takes a lot of expertise. Considering it was his first time, I think that he did okay.

Go see this movie please . . . go now . . . why are you still sitting at your computer reading this? Go see Stomp the Yard now!
