Tim Dillon: A Real Hero (2022)
Disappointed
I think Tim is very funny on his and others podcasts. I gave him about 15 mins to make me laugh and he failed. I turned it off and had to remedy my comedy fix with Eddie Murphy Raw. Witch I've seen countless times and it still had me cracking up. Tim's special is yet another one you can skip.
Halloween Kills (2021)
The title explains it all
I don't really get all the hate people are giving this movie. It's a dam slasher movie. You go to a slasher movie for one thing, fun gory kills and boy does this film deliver. I didn't care too much for the 2018 reboot although I really like that version of Michael Myers. Just a ruthless soulless killing machine and he doubles down in this new one. When he gets ahold of someone you can feel the strength and ruthlessness through the screen. People seem to think this movie should be some grand, deep, Shakespearean masterpiece or something. This is a movie with one goal. Killer is killing. People got to kill the killer. Simple. I love the retro look and music. If your looking for a fun gory SLASHER movie to go to this Halloween you should definitely check it out.
W lesie dzis nie zasnie nikt (2020)
Read this before watching
Other than the cinematography this movie doesn't provide anything other than gross out scenes. Generic characters and generic monsters. Also stealing lines and scenes from other better horror movies such as Aliens, Wrong Turn 2, Jason X, and Scream. Characters make really dumb decisions even for a horror movie. I knew this would be a dumb horror movie for me and my wife to drunkingly poke fun at and in that aspect it mildly succeeded. If that is the mood you are in you can give it a try but, if you are looking for a exciting and interesting horror experience do yourself a favor and skip this one.
A Classic Horror Story (2021)
Some movies are just bad
This movie felt like a cheap rip off of many other actually good horror movies and different genres. It's badly directed, badly acted, badly edited, boring pace, predictable and unoriginal. And it also over used "creepy" sounds and tried to use upbeat music while displaying gore imagery. A copy cat foreign film posing as a
Homage. Don't waste your time.
The Legacy of a Whitetail Deer Hunter (2018)
A cozy watch
If you are not a hunter this film might not interest you. But as person that has a passion for the outdoors plus hunting and fishing and happens to be a parent, I really enjoyed this movie. This film does a great job of showing the beauty of the outdoors. Josh Brolin is great like always. Showing range from silly to stern to sad to afraid. McBride is also good. He's pretty tame instead of his usual over the top self. I also thought the kid did a good job. His performance was good and succeeded in not be the "annoying kid" as you see in most movies. I can see me making this a traditional movie I could enjoy every year during hunting season.
Pete Davidson: Alive from New York (2020)
A stuttering mess
You can tell Pete hasn't been doing stand up for more than a few years. He's not the worst but he definitely wasn't ready for a special. There are a lot of times where he pauses and has to get back on track. He seems nervous. Witch isn't really a knock but not being comfortable on stage is a sign of a unseasoned comic. Watched half until my wife read my mind and said can we please turn this. But it is fun when watching a rookie comic stutter their wad through their set to then go watch a 20 year plus veteran comic like burr or Rogan and see the difference.
The Degenerates (2018)
The degenerates 2
Jim Norton- He is a funny guy. I like to listen to him in radio form I.e opey and Anthony or podcasts. But didn't laugh to much at this special.
Robert kelly- He was probably my favorite out of the bunch only because he made me lol one good time.
Miss Pat- I always here other comedians say how funny she is for example joe Rogan. So I was i was interested is watching her. I dnt think there was one joke in her act. All it was was stories and curse words. Witch are good. If you make it funny. She did not.
Nikki glaser- I liked her 2nd after Robert. Her jokes consisted mostly about her being a bad but the jokes were clever well formed and most important... funny
So like the first season there is a couple of good people and the rest suck
Michelle Wolf: Joke Show (2019)
Disappointed
Listen, I think wolf is funny. I've listened to her on podcasts and when she roasted those politicians at that dinner witch was hilarious. Needless to say I was looking forward to watching this special. I got about ten minutes in and turned it off. The While trailer for the special consist entirely of her first bit. And since her first bit was material I would expect to see at a open mic show. I Didn't have high hopes for the rest of her routine. I love comedy. Pretty much every podcast cast I listen to is all comedians. And if you listen to comedians podcast they love to talk about comedy so I feel I am pretty well versed on the subject. Like most Netflix specials You can skip this one.
The Peanut Butter Falcon (2019)
A fun southern adventure
If you like gritty southern dramas you will enjoy The Peanut Butter Falcon. Though it is kind of in the lighter side it still has that dirty down home country feel.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie (2019)
BRAVO!!
Pinkman was far from my favorite character in the show but Aaron Paul does a great job in portraying a older more seasoned Jessie Pinkman in El Camino. In classic breaking bad fashion this film is gritty, dark, humorous and tense in all the right places. In my opinion it's a perfect conclusion to one of the top tv shows to ever grace television.
Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones (2019)
It's Chapelle so just watch it
It seems to me that his recent specials have been More on the commentary side than the jokey side. Like many great comedians his older stuff is much funnier in my opinion. There are no memorable bits in his new specials. For example there are no cops sprinkling crack on dead bodies. But he is always interesting to watch not only because he is funny but for his insightful views and social commentary.
