Beautiful Disaster (2023)
Solid Rom Com
I caught this through Fathom Events last night and though I rarely leave reviews I thought I would since I was so pleasantly surprised. Aside from a couple jarring plot jumps (that were pretty easy to overlook considering the context) I think this was a really solid rom-com entry and way better than the source material. It was funnier than I expected but took itself seriously enough you cared; fine acting, charming and mostly believable characters and great chemistry between the two leads, also. I also loved seeing Brian Austin Green in a role I didn't expect. There was a fun shout out to the 'After' series, too. I enjoyed it.
The Gentlemen (2019)
Lots of fun.
I'm not really into gangster movies as a general rule, but this one caught my interest because of the cast. Took my pops yesterday to see it - we both thought it was great - great characters, acting and lots of action but tight enough to follow along!
After (2019)
Better than...
I thought it was going to be. I liked the two leads and hated that villainous wretch with the pink hair who couldn't get over herself. I never read the books so I went in blind and end up staying up to finish the film in its entirety. If you have a couple hours and want a sweet story of first love, you'll enjoy it!
The Predator (2018)
Haters gonna hate...
This movie was so much fun and dear lord, people on here are pissed off about what, exactly? I've seen all the Predator films, I liked them all too. Did they all follow the exact same details from film to film? No. It was still a hell of a lot better than some of the other sci-fi films that I've seen lately.
I think the only thing that irked me was that we never learned WHY the traitor jumped ship to bring the suit - maybe I missed it. Either way - I enjoyed it.
