I deleted most of the movie scores I gave on IMDB (Only kept some of them). My IMDB account will focus more on TV shows and episodes. My Letterboxd is instead going to have my movie scores. My IMDB rating system is inspired by my Letterboxd, for Tv shows, episodes and maybe internet stuff soon. I might use my IMDB to sort out cartoon episodes on my best and worst lists.
1/10- Absolute Worst or Abysmal, Has no good qualities and is painful to watch.
2/10- Terrible, Around the worst and painful to watch, does have a few good elements.
3/10- Awful, Would not consider it the worst and they have enough good stuff, Still not pleasent to watch, also most boring awful stuff go here (might go lower).
4/10- Bad, Far from the worst and has a lot of genuinly good stuff, but overall its bad which drags it down here.
5/10- Average or Mediocre, I am neutral towards with a mix of good and bad. So Bad it's Good stuff can go here (for now).
6/10- Okay or Decent, Heavily flawed and would not consider it good, has enough good elements or is fun to watch, compared to 5/10.
7/10- Good, Serious flaws that hold it back, but overall mostly good stuff and is fun to watch, but would not consider it a favourite.
8-10- Great, Really great and fun to watch, has enough problems that prevent it from being the best.
9/10- Amazing, Close to the best and definitelty would consider it one of my favourites, has a few problems.
10/10- The Best or Incredible, May not be perfect, but everything about is enjoyable and an experience to watch.

Amphibia: The Hardest Thing (2022)
This is it, A Beautiful Ending
Again sorry this review had to come out 4 months later. So let's get started on my Amphibia review of the very last episode. "The Hardest Thing" is about Anne, Sasha and Marcy saving Amphibia one last time, then a goodbye. Time to tell why "The Hardest Thing" is an awesome, tearjerking and heartwarming finale or rather an awesome beautiful ending to Amphibia. Spoilers beware.
The animation was beautiful and awesome. Whether it's seeing the characters, backgrounds, fight scenes. Some prime animation highlights are the Calamity Trio's (Anne, Sasha, Marcy) blue, red and green powered up designs and their powers, final battle against the Core and the goodbye with the portal up. The plot and writing was spectacular. With the story being structured perfectly: Anne, Sasha, and Marcy saving Amphibia from the Core. Then it focuses on Anne after her sacrifice, a big goodbye from the girls and Amphibia. Then we see the future of them, both Amphibia and the girls.
The tone was brilliantly displayed. From how serious it was to stop the Core. To Amphibia's and Anne's friends, sadness after Anne sacrificed herself. To the big goodbyes: with Marcy's goodbye with Olivia, Yunnan and Andrias being nice and tender, Sasha and Grime's goodbyes being funny and crying hard, Anne's goodbye with Polly, Hop Pop and Sprig being tear jerking and heartwarming. The character's joy (Amphibia, Earth) shown in their futures. The background music was also displayed great here, whether it's upbeat with the fight against the Core or heartwarming and sad, like Anne's sacrifice or the girls goodbyes with Amphibia.
All the characters were excellent. From Anne being the brave heroine she is, the Core being a threatening final boss villain and getting it's death, the rest of Amphibia supporting them. Andrias completes his redemption by sending his robots to help Anne, Sasha, and Marcy in stopping the Core, standing up to his father and destroying the crown. Sprig giving one last, "Spranne against the world," with Anne and then they hugged. Sasha and Marcy being helpful heroic friends with Anne, especially with Marcy's cool line, "This is the coolest. Most anime thing that's ever happened to me..." That also goes with the future scenes in the end. With Amphibia, seeing the characters grown up like with Sprig being an adventurer along with Ivy and then seeing a statue of Anne. Then on earth where we see Marcy, Sasha and Anne all adults with jobs and despite drifting apart in their lives, still being friends.
In Conclusion, "The Hardest Thing" is a fantastic finale and last episode with beautiful and awesome animation. Spectacular plot and writing with each part, whether saving Amphibia from the Core, Anne's sacrifice and after, big goodbyes from Amphibia and the character's futures. The tone whether sad or joyful is greatly displayed. That includes me crying in some parts (Anne's sacrifice and the girls goodbyes from Amphibia). The characters being excellent. Overall an awesome, tearjerking and heartwarming finale or an awesome beautiful ending to Amphibia. It gets a 10/10.
Edit April 30: The end credits were beautiful, from the music played, the pictures shown, especially the last one where there is now a photo of Anne, Sasha and Marcy as adults, just like when they were as teens when we first saw them.
Thank you Matt Braly and the crew for making this fun froggy show.
Amphibia: All In (2022)
Just So Awesome
Hi, in my last Amphibia review, I said the next one will be on August. But there were too many life problems. Anyways I'm sorry this review has to come out 5 months later. The second last 48 minute Amphibia episode. It's about Anne, her allies either from Amphibia or Earth having to stop King Andrias and Darcy from conquering Earth. Time to tell why "All In" is an awesome special. Spoilers definitely ahead.
Animation: It was amazing, from the battles with many of them being intense and even violent. The backgrounds, whether in Andrias' castle or Los Angeles, were impressive. The character's emotions whether happy, sad, angry were powerful to see.
Plot and Writing: Even more awesome, the flashback at the beginning. To when Anne and her allies plan and prepare to fight against Andrias and Darcy. The Planters overcoming trauma from the herons. Marcy in a fantasy world. Anne vs Andrias. Sasha and Grime vs Darcy. Andria's and Darcy's defeat with Marcy being free. Anne, Sasha and Marcy being reunited, them and the amphibians going back to Amphibia. It's all impressively written and plotted well.
Tone and Music: "All In" is excellent showing how serious and intense the situation is. The emotions as well, like the Planters trauma with the herons, Andrias' feelings and realizations. It was so heartwarming seeing Anne, Sasha and Marcy reunited. The music like K-Pop and the background music were nice treats.
Characters: All great characters. Anne being a great heroine. Sprig wondering if his friendship with Anne will last and the one who convinces Andrias. Sasha completing her character arc. Their allies being a great support to them. Darcy a dark and terrifying villain who is a good fighter. Marcy getting character development by rejecting the fantasy world that the Core put her through and wanting her real friends back. King Andrias, despite being evil, a genuinely tragic villain with a great redemption. Cares and misses Marcy, influenced and abused by the Core and his father to be evil, his fight with Anne and when Sprig reads him Leif's (an old friend) letter, realizes, feels remorse over his evil and lets himself be defeated by Anne.
Conclusion: "All In" is a fantastic 2nd finale that has awesome animation scenes. Great plot where Anne and her allies save Earth. Great serious tone and cool music. Amazing characters with awesome character development for Sasha, Marcy and even Andrias. Overall an epic, action filled, intense, emotional, character growthing and heartwarming episode. It gets a 10/10.
Amphibia: The Three Armies/The Beginning of the End (2022)
Two Episodes About the Beginning of the Battle
Warning this review has spoilers. Another review on Amphibia, this time two segments of the third last episode of this amazing Disney cartoon. One is definitely better than the other one, they're both great. Time to tell my thoughts on these episodes individually. Just to let you know, the group that is led by Anne and Sasha to fight against King Andrias and his forces is called the "Wartwood resistance."
The Three Armies: Anne and Sasha try to get the frogs, newts and toads to work together. Mostly great episode: showing how the 3 amphibian groups don't get along, Anne being a good character who tries to help and learns, Sasha being cool, funny moments and the amphibian groups soon coming up with a plan to defeat Andrias. The issues are it spends too much with the groups fighting with each other, parts feel rushed and compared to other Amphibia episodes, it doesn't stand out on its greatness. For this one only it gets an 8/10.
The Beginning of the End: The Wartwood resistance fights against King Andrias and his forces. Has some issues: Sasha (who was before actively villainous) is a hypocrite towards what Marcy did, some parts like the fight against the robots or the meeting with Darcy feel rushed.
Other than that this is an amazing beginning. From the start to end credits where Marcy is having a sleepover with her friends and watching her favourite movie. Awesome animation scenes like the battles, Anne and Sasha dance fighting and the backgrounds like inside the floating castle. All the characters written greatly from Anne telling Sasha to forgive Marcy, Andrias being a fun villain and Core/Darcy being an intimidating and dangerous villain. Awesome music. The ending where Andrias and the Core are invading earth. This one gets a 9/10.
Conclusion: "The Three Armies" is a great episode about Anne being a leader who gets the frogs, toads and newts to work together; it gets an 8/10. While "The Beginning of the End" was the better episode with many reasons that it's amazing, it gets an 9/10. The scores combined make it an 8.5 but I will just put it as an 8/10. Both of these were great episodes of Amphibia with great storylines. The two finales of Amphibia after; being "All In" and "The Hardest Thing" are even better.
The Loud House (2014)
One Boy, Ten Girls, how does the show still hold up?
Already reviewed some episodes, time to review the whole cartoon show. The Loud House (or for short TLH) is about a boy named Lincoln Loud who lives with 10 sisters. A lot of chaos happens. Also Lincoln hangs out with his friends. Here is how I divide the plot by season(s). "Season 1" Lincoln is the main character who talks to the viewers about his life living with 10 sisters. "Season 2-4" we get more focus on other characters like Lincoln's sisters and the parents. "Seasons 5-now" the characters are aged up a year: Lori goes to Fairway University, Lincoln moves to Middle school and Lily goes to Preschool. How does the show still hold up? Has the show gone downhill? Was it that good to begin with? Time to tell my thoughts.
Animation: The animation is good, not the best. The comic book art style animation inspired by stuff like Peanuts, with both the characters and backgrounds is really neat. As well as the slapstick humor looking really good. The downside here are probably the gross out scenes, like with Flip.
Plot and Writing: The most complicated spot to do. How are the plots and writing for each episode? TLH can either produce a bad, meh, good, or even amazing episode in all seasons. Bad episodes include "Brawl in the Family," "Ruthless People," "The Taunting Hour," etc. Meh episodes include "Chore and Peace," "Time Trap," etc. Good episodes include "Left in the Dark'' (first episode), "Animal House," etc. Amazing or the best include "Homespun," "L is for Love,'' "A Dark and Story Night," etc. In my eyes, the first 4 seasons mostly had good episodes. While seasons 5-present ones are more of a mixed bag. Guess I changed my opinion from my previous TLH reviews and stuff I put on DeviantArt. Did the show go downhill? Will save it for the conclusion. Actually there are still enough good episodes in the later seasons or at least enjoyable 6/10 episodes.
Tone and Music: This is a comedy show, the humor is either good, okay or bad. The bad humor includes Flip being gross. Okay humor includes the jokes I forgot. Good humor includes really funny slapstick, and in "Cover Girls" where Leni meets her lookalike. How does the show handle its emotional/serious moments? MOSTLY okay or good like showing that despite fighting with each other and their differences; the Loud family will always still care and help each other, like in "Project Loud House's" ending. The show's songs are a mixed bag. Bad songs include "Welcome to Canada," etc. Mixed bag songs include "Our Amazing Mother," "This Guy," etc. Good songs include most songs from "Really Loud Music," "That's What Christmas is All About," etc. The background music fits well with the show's slice of life feel.
Characters: TLH has loads of characters, we are only talking about the important characters. I like all of the Loud Family! My top 3 fave characters are Luna: the musician sister, Lola: the bratty pageant sister and the mc himself Lincoln Loud: the comic book loving boy who has a plan. I like the other members of the Loud family: Lori, Leni, Luan, Lynn, Lucy, Lana, Lisa, Lily, the parents (Lynn Sr Loud and Rita Loud) Albert (Lincoln's grandfather) and the pets: Charles, Cliff, Geo and Walt.
What about the other important characters? Well I dislike Flip, Chandler and The Morticians Club. I'm neutral towards Rusty, Zach, Bobby and the reporter Katherin Mulligan. While I like Clyde, Ronnie Anne (who got her own spinoff), Mr. Grouse, Stella, Liam, Sam Sharp (Luna's girlfriend), Girl Jordan, Leni's work friends (Miguel and Fiona), and some more. So I either like or love most of the characters that are either main or recurring.
Conclusion: How does the show still hold up? Has the show gone downhill? Was it that good to begin with? I think the show still holds up fine at worst and good at best. Even if the later episodes did go downhill. It was hard to notice from how there were plenty of bad or mediocre episodes from the early seasons and plenty of good or enjoyable episodes from the later seasons. Unlike other seasonal rot shows (FOP for ex), the main characters from TLH are still their likable selves with sometimes even getting character development.
Overall I still consider The Loud House to be a great show and Nicktoon, even if it does have plenty of flaws. With its good comic book style animation, mostly having good or enjoyable episodes in all seasons, despite having lots of bad episodes. Good humor, MOSTLY good serious/emotional moments, having some good songs, good background music and mostly good or likable characters. In other words from my review on the 2 TLH episodes, "How the Best Was Won/Animal House." "Even if I don't consider it the greatest cartoon: The Loud House still has likable characters, is still fun, still has charm and knows what it is (a fun and chaotic slice of life adventures of a boy, his family and friends). If this were from seasons 5-present I would probably give it a 7/10, while seasons 1-4 gets a 8/10. I would just give the entire show an 8/10.
Regular Show: A Regular Epic Final Battle (2017)
A Regular Epic Finale Indeed
This review is on the Regular Show 3-part finale special, "A Regular Epic Final Battle." Set in season 8, where the park crew and Eileen are in space. The Regular Show finale is about Pops having to fight and defeat Anti-Pops before he can destroy the universe. Even if I still think "Exit 9B" is better. I will tell you why this is one of the greatest, best, series finales and Regular Show episodes in general. Mostly point form and they are spoilers.
-Do want to point out one issue. In part 1, the Lolliland boy coming to sing the national anthem was fine at first. Then he tried to be more "cool" which I thought was unneeded and cringe. That is more of a nitpick. The rest is mostly positive reviewing here.
-Animation is great; very well done action scenes, the backgrounds in space, the battles between Pops, the park crew, their allies against Anti-Pops and his allies. Pops landing in "The Naive Man from Lolliland" student film, characters and surroundings turning into adhesive notes and storyboards, how Pops managed to defeat Anti-Pops.
-Will summarize the plot and writing of each 3 episodes on why they are amazing individually.
-Called "A Regular Epic Finale Battle Part 1". The park crew arrives in Lolliland. Interesting to learn the history of Pops and Anti-Pops, their battles and more. Mordecai and the park crew form a trap for Anti-Pops when he arrives, which was genius and shows them to be helpful, except that Anti-Pops escapes.
-Next "A Regular Epic Finale Battle Part 2". Awesome battles between Pops and Anti-Pops. The park crew along with some of their allies have an awesome battle against Anti-Pops minions and Streaming. Soon it gets more intense, Anti-Pops unlocks his Titan form and begins erasing, which is scary to look at. Pops soon unlocks his Titan form and fights him. Just when the two are about to collide their fists which would reset the universe, Mordecai and Rigby on a ship collide between them.
-The very last episode is called "The Power'' just like the very first episode. Was really neat and cool that the very last episode has the duo going back to the first one. Until Rigby remembers about the future including the finale, showing Mordecai the future. They then use the Power (A keyboard from the first episode) to travel and help Pops in the future. We go back to Pops and Anti-Pops battle with each other, Mordy and Rigby appear between them, more cool action and animation scenes. Pops figures out how to defeat Anti-Pops, by hugging him and sacrificing them both to the sun. A genuinely heartwarming moment and may Pops rest in peace. This fixed the destruction Anti-Pops caused and revived everyone.
-Later the dome with the park and crew land back on earth. Rest is just heartwarming; we get to see the character's futures, their jobs and families. 25 years later when the park crew and their children have a reunion. An older Mordecai and Rigby remember their past time at the park. After that the show ends with Pops' voice in heaven watching them.
-The characters, really likable and portrayed good. Pops was awesome, brave, his friendly and kind self who in his own ways stopped his brother. Anti-Pops was such a cool, tough, intimidating villain who did a good job as the endgame villain. Mordecai and Rigby, were really likable, both helped Pops and each other. Rest of the characters are the other villains being a challenge, as well as the other park members and their allies being likable and a helpful challenge against them.
-Other reasons why this finale is amazing. The song David Bowie's "Heroes" played is great when we are seeing the character's futures. Some funny moments in this action packed and heartwarming finale. It is well paced, not too slow or fast. The very end with the last line being "Jolly Good Show."
"A Regular Epic Final Battle'' Part 1, 2 and "The Power" is one of the greatest, best, series finales and Regular Show episodes. Amazing animation including ones different from the show and action. Fantastic plot and writing, includes funny, intense and heartwarming moments. A cool and tough villain against our likable heroes. "Heroes" being played at the character's futures. Overall this was an amazing conclusion to this "Jolly Good Show". It gets a 10/10.
Breadwinners (2014)
Obnoxious and Awful. Worst Nicktoon?
After a long time, I'm gonna review a full cartoon series. Breadwinners is about two ducks; SwaySway and Buhdeuce, who fly on a rocket van delivering bread to their customers or go on other Quazy adventures on Pondgea. Breadwinners is a really bad cartoon and Nicktoon, who even as a kid, thought was awful. Now to review its sections independently.
Animation: Has bad flash animation, the background ducks are stock imagery for some reason, the two main characters look more like frogs and the colors feel oversaturated especially when it goes fast paced. I give the animation credit for feeling like a pixelated video game, like the two main characters traveling and doing level ups.
Plot and Writing: Plots are mostly bad, there is some creativity and some fun episodes. This includes "Yeasterday" where Buhdeuce uses the titular bread to time travel, so SwaySway can have a good day, a fine episode despite overuse of gross out and annoyingness. The different types of bread and worldbuilding of Pondgea are creative. Most plots involve the main characters acting stupid, reckless and annoying around their surroundings, where they mostly cause the problem.
Tone and Music: Humor here is terrible, constant use of gross out, being overly loud and overly fast paced. There are some funny moments, like the ending of "Lil Loafie," with who the bread chooses in the end. Music is also terrible, like the theme song, the rapping and actual songs in the show like, "Big Baby Buns."
Characters: Going to be in point form.
-The two main characters are both unlikable, annoying, stupid, gross and reckless. Between them, SwaySway is the worser character.
-SwaySway is mostly the more reckless of the two. He is also a creep with his "love" for Jenny Quackles. Just search for my review of the episode, "Love Loaf" as well as watch episodes like, "Bad to the Duck Bone." Those two are probably the worst episodes.
-Buhdeuce is also unlikable. I admit, do like the main characters' chemistry where SwaySway acts as the leader and Buhdeuce as the student, sometimes as the more level headed and willing to help his best friend.
-Other recurring characters are: Oonski the Great, the Biker ducks and Jenny Quackles who are both bad characters. Ketta, Rambamboo and T-Midi, who are just okay.
-Some cool characters are: Jelly the Breadwinners cute, caring pet frog, who's attacks is too gross though. The Breadmaker, a magical, chill, wise and helpful guy who makes all the bread in the world. Those two are actually likable.
Conclusion: Breadwinners is an awful cartoon for its lazy and bad animation, mostly bad plots filled with bad gross out humor, being overly loud, too fast paced, awful rapping and songs, obnoxious and unlikable main characters. Is it the worst Nicktoon? My answer is no, but it's definitely on the top 10 worst. Nicktoons I think are worst so far are Kid Danger, Kamp Koral and maybe Planet Sheen.
The redeeming qualities are that I like its video game feel, guess they are some funny moments or episodes that have creative plots or writing like "Yeasterday," the main character's chemistry and two characters I like, Jelly and the Breadmaker. Probably give this a 2.5/10, but round it to either a 2 or 3. Choose a 2 because it gets worse in season 2 which has less fun episodes and SwaySway acting creepy around Jenny. It gets a 2/10.
Edit April 3, 20223: Hi this review was supposed to come out on March 10, but it kept getting declined. Hope I edited this review enough so that it gets accepted here.
Amphibia: Reunion (2019)
Awesome End to Season 1
Warning this review obviously has spoilers. This review is the Amphibia season 1 finale, "Reunion." The main plot starts in a flashback with both Anne and Sasha. It cuts to where the previous episode, "Anne of the Year," ended; the toads in Wartwood, Anne and Sasha reunited. Sasha and the toads convince Anne and the Wartwood citizens to come to Toad Tower, where a banquet is hosted. But it's really a trap, the frogs get captured, Anne and Sasha fight each other, the two get separated again, but Anne is still with the Planter family.
Similar to True Colors which I reviewed before; Reunion is great, has action and is an emotional conclusion, this time to season 1 of Amphibia, an already amazing cartoon. I'm going to divide the sections for which I'm going to review, "Reunion."
Animation: Great animation like the rest of the show. Awesome animation highlights are Toad Tower, Anne and Sasha fighting and when Toad Tower collapses, with the Planters, Anne and Sasha holding onto each other, until Sasha falls down, but Grime saves her.
Plot and Writing: Already explained the main plot, but it has great writing throughout. Sasha, Grime and the Toads plan, so they can attempt to execute Hop Pop was very smart and shows how Sasha made the toads competent. It shows an excellent moral for what a real friend is specifically to Anne, rather than a toxic one (Sprig a real friend, Sasha a toxic one).
Tone and Music: "Reunion" does an extraordinary job in its serious tone. As well as funny humor like Grime smiling and the Toad soldier that sounds like Morty from R&M. The song. "Lean on Me," is an excellent inclusion where the Planters, Anne and Sasha hold onto each other, in the collapsing Toad Tower.
Characters: All the characters are likable and serve their roles well. Anne especially, where she goes through excellent character development where she stands up to Sasha, but still cares for her. Sprig was awesome when calling out Sasha for being a bad friend to Anne. Sasha was a brilliant villain, for her smarts, caring for Anne as a friend, even with her manipulative and toxic nature. Captain Grime was a great and intimidating villain. The rest of the characters like Hop Pop, Polly and the rest of the Wartwood citizens were great too.
Conclusion: Amphibia's "Reunion" has awesome animation like the fight scene with Anne and Sasha, an excellent plot, great at being serious with some funny humor, the song being a great addition, excellent characters where Anne goes through great character development. The only flaw is that it only gets really great in the second half, but that is just minor. Anyways "Reunion" is an awesome conclusion to Amphibia season 1 and like what I should have done with "True Colors" before. This gets a 10/10.
Regular Show: The Power (2010)
Powerfully Awesome Start to an Awesome Tween Cartoon
Hi this review will be on Regular Show's first episode, "The Power." This episode is about when after Rigby accidentally made a hole on the wall, both he and Mordecai decide they need a raise and they do it with a keyboard named "The Power" that can do anything, then problems happen when they use the keyboard. This review is going to tell why this is an amazing first episode. Even if it's not the real first one, with "First Day" from season 2 episode 25, chronologically being the first episode and the original pilot which came out in 2009.
The animation is used great here. This includes the moves, both Mordecai and Rigby use when dancing to "The Power," the landscape of the moon with the things Rigby sent there and when Rigby does "Hamboning." The plot is great, the keyboard "The Power" being a creative idea that gives our main characters anything (even if the two didn't use the keyboard to fix their wall) and the rest taking place in the moon, where Mordecai and Rigby fix their mistake.
The humor is very funny, this includes the many adult jokes, like "Don't look at our crotches while we synchronize our watches!" and swearing used like c**p and p*** (in a PG rated Cartoon Network show, which makes it even more funny). The songs and rapping are also fun to listen to. The characters are likable, hilarious and in character. This includes Rigby, Mordecai, Pops, Benson and Skips.
The problems that prevent this from a 10/10 are Mordecai and Rigby being stupid for not using the keyboard to fix the wall, but that's more of a small problem (won't affect the episode that much if they fixed that wall actually). As well as even if the characters are likeable, hilarious and in character; other episodes had them more of that way and I just don't think they are the best here. Still overall "The Power" is an awesome first episode that has cool animation scenes, an awesome and creative plot, has hilarious humour and songs, introduces the characters well and is just an amazing way to start the awesome tween (ages 10-12) cartoon "Regular Show." If you want to start watching Regular Show, I highly recommend that you watch this episode first. This gets a 9/10.
The Loud House: The Taunting Hour/Musical Chairs (2022)
Both Awful Loud House Episodes
I'm aware that my previous reviews on two Loud House episodes were downvoted by people, I already know who you are. But just to let you know, these are individual negative reviews on 2 Loud House episodes from the new seasons that I consider awful and are hated. So let's begin to review these episodes individually.
"The Taunting Hour" is about Lincoln showing Lynn that Lola, Luna, Lynn Sr, Rita, Luan and Lisa also have their "Critics" after Lynn was mocked by Scoots. I'm gonna do point form for why this episode sucks and is the worst of season 6.
-It portrays most of the critics more as haters and bullies (ex: Scoots teasing and Chandler bullying is portrayed as criticism), there is something called constructive criticism (criticism made to help you improve).
-Lynn, Lola, Luna, Lynn Sr, Rita, Luan and Lisa are not likable here. For starters, after they hear negative feedback from just one person, even from their many adoring fans. They get angry at Lincoln for telling them, calling him a "Life ruiner."
-The message of the episode is to ignore your critics, which is a horrible lesson to teach kids, from how they should not improve their work.
Positives are that Lincoln is likable for wanting to help his family and compared to stuff like "Brawl in the Family'' it doesn't annoy me as much. If it was more about dealing with bullying and teasing, I would find it forgivable. But it's about how critics are haters and bullies. "The Taunting Hour" is basically TLH's answer to the Teen Titans Go "attack the critics episodes" and MLP Friendship is Magic's "Fame and Misfortune" (At least "The Taunting Hour" doesn't have a song denouncing criticism, looking at you "Flawless"). Gonna give it a 2/10.
"Musical Chairs" is about Lincoln convincing his teacher Mr. Bolhofner to change his seat, with different activities, until convincing him to join the Doo-Dads Band. It's much better than "The Taunting Hour" but still pretty bad. Lincoln is portrayed pretty stupid sometimes like making a fire at school, Chandler bullying Lincoln (Chandler is already a terrible character). Mr. Bolhofner being just unlikable, like ignoring Lincoln being bullied by Chandler too when joining the Doo-Dads Band, changing it in a way that disturbs others. Positives are that the first part before Mr. Bolhofner joined the band was fine, Lincoln is actually sympathetic and the ending is pretty good, with Mr. Bolhofner being remorseful and Lincoln not having to sit with Chandler. Gonna give it a 3/10.
Conclusion those were my reviews on these two individual episodes of "The Loud House" that are awful and together give it a score of 3/10. Reason I didn't put it any lower is that even if "The Taunting Hour" is an "attack the critics" episode compared to "BitF" and "Study Muffin" it doesn't annoy me as much. As well as "Musical Chairs" being pretty harmless even if it's a bad episode. Despite being popular to hate on the show and these episodes being stinkers. I still love and consider the Loud House to be a good show and am excited to watch the new episodes, even if it may go downhill.
Ed, Edd n Eddy's Jingle Jingle Jangle (2004)
Fun and Filled with Christmas traditions with Different Characters
Know this is after Christmas, consider this a very late Christmas gift. First review on an Ed, Edd, N Eddy episode, The Christmas special, "Jingle Jingle Jangle." The show itself is funny, has a cool animation style and is filled with fun characters with their own personalities. The Christmas special is about Eddy, unsatisfied with getting clothes for Christmas, going to other kid's houses to get good presents. The Kankers follow a light and the other Edds try to teach Eddy a lesson.
The animation is really fun and great. Whether it's in the slapstick comedy or the backgrounds, it includes the houses of Johnny, Rolf, Nazz and Jimmy on how they celebrate Christmas. Speaking of the houses between these characters, the plot is great; whether it's Eddy going to the different houses or the Kankers acting like the 3 Wise men and collecting things. The humor normal for the show is hilarious with its slapstick humor and dialogue.
The characters here are great (or at least in character), and serve their roles well. Includes Eddy being greedy even after doing something good, Edd acting like an angel who wants to help, Ed being a hilarious idiot. The Christmas traditions of Johnny having the insides of his house made out of ice, Rolf's house filled with meat, Nazz's house being like a normal Christmas house (tree, presents and table), Jimmy's house being full of baked sweets including a gingerbread village. Them (except for Rolf who Eddy just left) understandably kicking Eddy out when he messes up. All the kids I talked above also including Sarah and Kevin being happy about the Christmas tree being lit by Eddy.
The problems include: all 3 Edds (even if Eddy is the only one who did any wrong) locked with the Kankers who "do things to them" at the end; more of the show's issue than the special itself. Also even after Eddy lit up the tree, he was still greedy and took everyone's presents. It's understandable for his character, but the special wouldn't change much if he stops his selfishness. The biggest flaw is it only got really great towards the second half.
Overall Ed, Edd, N Eddy's "Jingle, Jingle Jangle'' is a fun Christmas special that stays true to the show. Shows cool traditions of different characters, an interesting plot of Eddy looking for good presents, hilarious humor like the slapstick humor and even getting heartwarming, with the tree being lit and Santa dropping presents to all the kids. This gets a 9/10. Also I hoped you had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Gravity Falls: Northwest Mansion Mystery (2015)
An Awesome Spooky Episode with a Great Redemption
Note: I originally wanted to post this in October, but I was too busy with other stuff and couldn't go to IMDB. But here I am posting a review on this great Gravity Falls episode. Also in this review I'm dividing my sections more and this is a very late Halloween review.
This episode is about Pacifica inviting Dipper to a fancy party in the Northwest Mansion to stop the Lumberjack Ghost. The side plot is about Mabel and her 2 friends getting invited to the party by Dipper, where they try to attract a young baron. This episode is just fantastic, especially on being a great redemption episode for Pacifica and learning more about her.
Animation: Does a good job on showing the dark atmosphere. This includes the mansion itself and how fancy it is. Blood coming out of the taxidermy animal heads' mouths saying, "Ancient Sins!" To how the Lumberjack Ghost shows up where fire appears.
Plot and writing: It's a great, spooky, mystery episode. Dipper and Pacifica work well together as a team by finding the ghost and stopping him. A great redemption episode for Pacifica, will explain more in the character section. The subplot with Mabel, Grenda and Candy in the party was cute. There are some funny jokes, but this episode does a great job on showing how serious stuff are: how crazy the ghost is and Pacifica's dad abusing her with a bell.
Characters: The starring characters here are greatly written and most of them likable. I hate Pacifica's parents: Preston and to a lesser extent Priscilla, they are abusive, snobbish parents who psychologically abuse Pacifica like a dog, but they are made to be hateable. Also Mabel, Candy and Grenda were fun here. As well as the Lumberjack Ghost, who may be tragic, but is still an incredibly dangerous villain.
The main best characters here are Dipper and Pacifica. Dipper being his heroic detective self, who was wary of Pacifica but convinces her to be a better girl. Pacifica for having a great redemption where she learns of her family's misdeeds, stands up to her abusive dad and does a heroic act by saving the party guests by letting the common folks into the party. These two make a good team, became friends and yes I am a Dipcifica shipper.
Overall "Northwest Mansion Mystery" is an awesome episode. The animation is great especially in showing the dark atmosphere that takes place. The plot is a great mystery episode that does a good job in being dark or scary (whether it's the ghost or Preston ringing his bell) and some funny jokes. The characters (except Preston and his wife; they're hateable) whether Mabel, Candy, Grenda, Dipper and especially Pacifica; with her great redemption are really likable. This episode has nothing I hate about it, so it gets a 10/10.
The Loud House: How the Best Was Won/Animal House (2021)
The reason why I gave it a 10 is that its rating is unfair
IMDb rant: IMDb is a good reviewing website, but not a reliable website on what people think of a TV show, movie, etc. A reason is that the score of a TV show, movie, etc is undeserved. For example Mr. Pickles and Brickleberry (a raunchier Family Guy clone) have about 7/10 on IMDB, when most people view them negatively. These are low rated LH episodes, even if I don't hear people talk about them much.
Low rated Loud House episodes (specifically a 3.1/10 when I post this review), "How the Best Was Won'' and "Animal House." Are these episodes really the worst or even bad, a big NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's just review these two episodes individually.
"How The Best Was Won" is about Lincoln and Clyde competing against Rusty and Zach for "Middle School's Best Friends." My opinion is that the first part before the four did a game show to prove who are Best Friends is bland and the song being okay. But the game show was fun to see and the ending was really great: where Liam and Stella made the four realize that their competition had gone haywire. As well as all six of them being awarded Best Friend Group, which is pretty heartwarming. It's not anything special, it's just okay. Also Girl Jordan's best friend Rachel came out of nowhere). I would give it a 6/10.
"Animal House" is about Lana putting a penguin, llama and flying squirrel into new homes from the Royal Woods Pet Adoption Center, to prevent them from moving away. Unlike the previous episode which was okay, this episode is actually great. Lana was really likable with wanting to help her animal friends find new homes: the penguin to Mr. Grouse, the llama to Liam, the flying squirrel to the McBrides and then all three of the animals in her house. Until Lana realizes that's not what the animals want, so she allows them to go to the Exotic Pet Playground, which is heartwarming to see.
This episode gives Lana good character development and also has her interact with Sam, Luna's girlfriend. I love to see that Sam is not just Luna's girlfriend, but also helps run an Animal Shelter with Lana, which is sweet to see. Even if it has flaws like a really gross scene and not being revolutionary. Out of all the newer episodes from TLH, this is one of the best and also being cute. Gonna give it a 8/10.
So in conclusion both of these episodes get a 7/10, but I put a 10/10 from how its rating is undeserved. I think the reason is that a lot of fans hate the newer Loud House episodes and review bomb it to a 1/10. Of course they are some bad recent LH episodes like; "On Thin Ice," "Schooled," "Silence of the Luans," "Appetite for Destruction" (These episodes made Lily unlikeable,''''The Taunting Hour" and some more. But there are also recent episodes I actually find really good (this is for S5, there are a lot more in S4 & 6) like, "Camped," "The Boss Maybe," "Cow Pie Kid," "Season's Cheatings" and more.
Did the Loud House go downhill? No or at least not yet, maybe the future seasons will. TLH can either produce a bad, meh or good episode in all the seasons. Even if I don't consider it the greatest cartoon: The Loud House still has likable characters, is still fun, still has charm and knows what it is (a fun and chaotic slice of life adventures of a boy, his family and friends).
Amphibia: Marcy at the Gates (2020)
Great Introduction to a Loved Character
Hello I'm back doing a review after being away for months. This will be on the Amphibia episode, "Marcy at the Gates." This plot is Anne and the Planter family meeting her other friend Marcy for the first time; then they have to drive out the Barbari-ants so that the gang can go to Newtopia. This episode was fun, action packed and a great way to introduce one of my fave characters; Marcy (my fave along with Anne and Sasha from Amphibia).
The animation is great. These include the action scenes when the gang are fighting out the ants and seeing Newtopia for the first time. The writing is also great. I already talked about the plot, but the highlights are the character's interactions with Marcy and how they defeat the giant ants together. I will talk about the characters underneath. This episode is fun seeing what Marcy does here.
Let's move on to the characters who are all likable and understandable with their motivations. Anne is happy to see Marcy again, wants to keep her safe even if Marcy can take care of herself and letting her do it. Sprig not trusting Marcy, from how last time Sasha (Anne's other friend) was bad. Hop Pop and Polly were good then we get to Marcy herself. This episode was a great introduction to who Marcy is: a clumsy and smart nerd who in Amphibia became a scout who knows very much about it, as well as someone who defends Newtopia and her friends.
There are a few flaws though, we don't really get to the main plot and conflict until later. But that doesn't negatively impact the episode that much. Overall "Marcy at the Gates" is a fun, charming, action packed episode with likable characters including Marcy who I love. This gets a 9/10.
Note: I'm going to be very busy with other stuff online.
Edit 1/29/2024: Changed my episode review to a 10/10. The flaws here are minimal and don't affect how great the episode is. Also added one sentence into the conclusion. "Marcy at the Gates" is just an awesome way to introduce Marcy and one of the best episodes in the show.
Wild Kratts (2010)
A review on a show with cool creatures
I really wanted to review this show. This review will be on the Wild Kratts. This show is about two brothers, Chris and Martin Kratt going on expeditions to explore animals and the wild. In many episodes the Kratt brothers use creature powers. This show is awesome and one of the best PBS Kids shows around even if it has a few problems.
The animation is really good. The character designs, the backgrounds and action scenes are really cool to look at. For instance the different habitats; like the African savanna and the North American temperate forest, the Wild Kratts crew end up in are well animated. The music is hit or miss; the background music and theme song are good. While the occasional songs are more mixed.
The writing is mostly good. The plots involving either rescuing animals, their habitat, saving Aviva's inventions are examples. Episodes can be about really well known animals like cheetahs, elephants and more; or they can be about lesser known animals like fossas, tarsiers and more. Aviva's inventions are also really cool like the creature power suits and discs. Some episodes are boring, but this show can be really funny like with the slapstick the Kratt brothers end up in.
The characters are mostly great. The main and best are the Kratt brothers (Chris and Martin) who are opposites of each other. Chris is the organized and calm brother who takes time to study animals. Martin is the more goofy brother who likes to have fun with the animals they meet. The other characters include Aviva: a smart inventor who has a lot of flaws but is likable. Koki: a sassy black woman who manages the tortuga's computers. Jimmy Z: who is a lazy eater but is the Tortuga's pilot. There is a negative review that says that Koki and Jimmy are useless, they are wrong.
The villains are mostly fun, even if they're not the best. A lot of people dislike Zach, but I like him for being funny (ex: "Mommy...GET IT OFF! Its icky feet are scratchy!") and his plans can be from turning animals into robots to stealing Aviva's inventions. There is also Donita (an animal fashion designer), Dabio (her dimwitted assistant) and Gourmand (an endangered animal chef). The characters I dislike are Paisley and Rex (flat villains whose only goals are paving and hating nature).
Wild Kratts is a cool show about cool creatures that still has some flaws. Some episodes are boring, newer seasons declining (there still good), not great songs, Paisley and Rex are flat and boring. Despite those problems, Wild Kratts is great for its animation, theme song and background music, episodes about animals and their habitats, inventions, humor, action and most of the characters. This show gets a 9/10.
I would also like to say that this show gets hiatuses a lot, especially now. But I'm patient.
The Casagrandes (2019)
Good but far from the best
Hola, my first review in the new year. This review will be on "The Casagrandes." I love The Loud House, it's a fun nicktoon. But I'm going to talk about its spinoff "The Casagrandes," instead. What do I think of it; I think it's good if you want to watch something. But it's far from being one of the greatest cartoon or nicktoon.
Let's start with the animation. Since it's the same as the Loud House, the animation is good from its comic strip animation. Now let's look at the writing. To be honest it's like the Loud House, except with a different family in the city. Some episodes are good like "Croaked," "Guilt Trip" and "Zoomergency." While other episodes are average or downright; bad episodes include "Slink or Swim" and most of the Sergio centered episodes.
Let's talk about the characters. The likable characters in this show are Ronnie Anne, Bobby, their mom, most of the Casagrande family, Sid Chang and her family. The characters I hate are Segio (an annoying parrot jerk), the news reporter, the fortune teller guy and some others. The rest of the characters like Hector, Rosa and Vito are okay. My favourite characters are Ronne Anne and Sid Chang. They have a beautiful friendship along with Ronnie being a tomboy while Sid is more of a cheeky girl.
So in conclusion the animation for the Casagrandes is similar but good, the writing is either good, okay or bad and the characters are good, okay or bad. This show is enjoyable, but it has too many mediocre or bad parts in it. I actually wish that the Casagrandes is better; My overall rating for this show is a 7/10.
Regular Show: The Christmas Special (2012)
Awesome Christmas Special "Regular Show Style"
Here is another Christmas special on the Regular Show episode, "The Christmas Special." Regular Show is an awesome cartoon with fun plots, great action scenes, likable and relatable characters. This Christmas special is no exception: It's about Mordecai, Rigby, Benson, Skips, Muscleman and High Five Ghost having to destroy a gift that brings your darkest desires for Santa; from the clutches of an evil elf who wants to destroy Christmas.
The action scenes in this episode are awesome. From the fight scene between Santa, and Quinton (the evil elf) at the start. As well as Mordecai versus Quinton, where the gift and the elf were both destroyed. The plot of this episode is to "Save Christmas" but in an epic adventure way or in "Regular Show style." Like the gift box bringing out the worst in people.
The characters in this episode are great, like the main characters (except for Thomas) just like in the rest of the show. Unlike other versions of Santa, this Santa is a muscular badass who kicks butt (sorry couldn't resist). The elf Quinton was a great villain and Gene the park ranger was likable for willing to help the gang save Christmas.
Even if this Regular Show Christmas special is epic. I wouldn't give it a 10/10, to make it a 10/10 it needs to have a Christmas spirit. But hey "The Christmas Special" is full of awesome action scenes, an epic plot and likable characters. This gets a 9/10 or 9.5/10.
Well there goes the last review this year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Futurama: Xmas Story (1999)
Fry's first Christmas in Futurama
Ho Ho my first Christmas review this year, also my first review on an adult cartoon. This review will be on the Futurama episode "Xmas Story". Futurama is one of the best adult cartoons: great animation, writing and characters. Anyways this episode is about Fry's first Christmas in the future, now called Xmas.
Fry learns that Leela is an orphan who doesn't have anyone to hang out with during Xmas. So Fry decides to get a present for Leela, as well as Bender joining a group of homeless robots for booze. Fry, Leela, Bender and the group of homeless robots soon have to run away from a murderous robot Santa Claus (who sees everyone as naughty except for Zoidberg). They return back to the Planet Express building, defeat the robot Santa and they enjoy Xmas with all their friends.
This episode is really funny, action packed, emotional and shows what Futurama is during Christmas. There are a lot of differences like using palm trees as Christmas trees and Santa being an evil robot. Some funny moments in this episode include the Robot Santa giving Zoidberg a pogo stick, Bender in general and the Xmas version of "Santa Claus is Coming To Down." Every character is good in this episode: Fry being a good friend, Bender being his usually naughty self, the Robot Santa being a great villain and the rest of the crew being likable.
Like most Christmas specials (even the bad ones), this episode has a Christmas spirit. From how the crew are enjoying being together even from how chaotic Xmas is. The flaws are that it only really gets really great during the episode's half. As well as the episode isn't something I would go out of my way to watch. But still this Futurama Christmas episode is great to watch. This gets a 9/10. I'm reviewing the Regular Show Christmas special next.
Gravity Falls: Summerween (2012)
An awesome Gravity Falls spin on Halloween
Since where in the holiday of Halloween. This review will be on the Gravity Falls Halloween special, "Summerween." This episode actually takes place during Summerween, a summer version of Halloween in Gravity Falls. This episode is about the Summerween Trickster visiting Dipper, Mabel, Candy, Grenda and Soos. They have to collect 500 pieces of candy; or else they'll get eaten. They fail and end up chased by the trickster until they defeat him. Meanwhile Stan Pines is trying to scare two kids.
Out of all the Gravity Falls episodes, besides probably Not What He Seems, A Tale of Two Stans, and the Weirdmaggedon trilogy. This is my favourite Gravity Falls episode, and is an awesome Halloween special, even though it takes place in Summerween.
There's a lot of great animation, like the chase scene between the Summerween Trickster and the gang. Let's move on to the writing, it's both creative, funny, scary and emotional. This episode does a good job on showing Summerween as well as its differences; like using Jack-O-Melons. It's funny mostly from Grunkle Stan, who tries to scare two brave kids. It's scary in a good way, mostly by the Trickster who is an awesome villain. It's emotional, from Dipper feeling that he's too old to trick or treat and Mabel wanting to.
The characters are likable and understandable in this episode. Dipper feeling that Trick or Treating is too childish. Mabel is excited to go Trick or Treating with her twin brother. As well as Candy, Grenada, Soos and Grunkle Stan being a fun addition. I'm going to explain why the Summerween Trickster is an awesome villain. His design is really done and creepy; as well the motivation for becoming a monster. Spoiler alert; he is made up of candy that kids hate, until he was happy that Soos ate him. He is overall an original spin on a Hallowen or in this case a Summerween Monster.
In conclusion this episode features awesome animation scenes. Creative, funny, scary, and emotional writing. The characters are good, and a terrifying but great monster. There is nothing I hate about this episode. This gets a 10/10.
Amphibia: True Colors (2021)
An awesome way to end season 2
Warning, this review will contain a lot of spoilers. This review will be on Amphibia's season 2 finale, "True Colors." The main plot is that the 3 girls; Anne, Sasha, and Marcy are able to go home. Sasha and Grime betray them, and they take over Newtopia. Sascha soon feels remorse; as well as her and Grime finding out that King Andrias is evil. Anne and her friends soon release the king; who with the Calamity box reveals his evil nature. The three girls and all their friends end up fighting the king; until Anne and the Planter Family are able to go to earth. Marcy also sacrificed herself.
True Colors is a great, action packed, and emotional conclusion to season 2 of Amphibia. Which already itself is a great cartoon, with likable characters, and fun and emotional stories. Let's talk about the animation first; because it matters in this episode. The animation is good like the rest of the show. But there are awesome animation moments like; the action scenes, and Anne unleashing her blue gem powers. The writing is also great, I already explained the main plot. This episode is mostly serious, and ties a lot of stuff from previous episodes; like the Calamity box, and the robots.
There is also a plot twist with Marcy; it's revealed that she is why she, and her two friends are in Amphibia. Marcy was entirely remorseful, and she did it because she didn't want to lose her two best friends. The characters are all likable; except for King Andrias who is still a good villain even for how evil he is. Anne, and the Planter family are still likable characters. Sasha, and Grime have understandable villain redemptions. Marcy was still the friendly girl she was, and she has understandable motives for what she did.
So in conclusion, this special has awesome animation, and action moments. A plot that ties with continuity for an epic season 2 conclusion. The characters are either likable, understandable, or at least good. The flaws for this special are that stuff happens too quickly in this episode. But True Colors is still an awesome conclusion to Amphibia season 2. This gets a 10/10.
Edit 7/26/2022: Changed my episode review to a 10/10. The flaws here are minimal and don't affect how great the episode is. True Colors really is just an awesome season finale,
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Clash of Triton (2010)
A bad 22 minute Spongebob special
Hello I'm going to review the Spongebob special, "The Clash of Triton." This special is about King Neptune being sad that his son Triton, didn't come to his birthday. When it was entirely Neptune's fault. I'm going to talk negatively about this episode. It's definitely not the worst Spongebob episode or even special, "Spongebob You're Fired is worse." But its a mostly bad Spongebob episode.
The first minutes were just fine. Just regular Krusty Krab antics, but I at least found Spongebob funny there. When Neptune and the Royal family came to the Krusty Krab, the king was sad that his son was not on his birthday. I could feel sorry for him; but then we heard his backstory. His son Triton wanted to be like regular underwater folk. As a teenager, Triton created a medicine that cures all diseases. But Neptune was displeased with his son, he even locked his son up in a cage and on an island. For just wanting to be like mortals.
The second part of this episode is Spongebob getting Triton out of imprisonment. When Triton's out, and he is in Bikini Bottom. Triton understandably locks his father, as well as the rest of the Royal family to a cage. Triton then goes on a rampage destroying countless buildings in the process. When Neptune is out he was happy that Triton was acting like a God.
The main reason why this episode is bad is because the plot sucked. It was entirely King Neptune's fault that Triton was not in his party. The episode is also not really funny or interesting. Just about Spongebob getting Triton out. The positive aspects about this episode is that Spongebob is at least likable, and can be funny. Also this episode didn't make me mad at how bad it is, it felt more boring. So my overall score for this episode is a 3/10.
Animaniacs (2020)
It's time for an awesome reboot
Hi readers. I know it has been 8 months since I have posted a review. I told you I was not going to review in IMDB that much. But here I am planning to post a review once or twice a month.
This review will be on the; Animaniacs 2020 reboot. I always wanted to make a review on it; and this reboot is really great. Probably not as good as the original, which I have seen which I think was a hilarious blast. But this reboot is still really awesome maniacs.
Let's look at the animation first. It's good and fluid with the animation, like how the Warner siblings are still cartoony. But if I have a nitpick, it's that I'm not really a fan of the human designs in the show. They're not the worst, but I still dislike them.
The stories are still enjoyable and fun. In the reviews, I have heard a lot of people criticize how political the show is. While some of it might be too forced. I think it still doesn't ruin how the Animaniacs reboot is still zany to the max.
Now let's look at the characters. The Warner siblings; Yakko, Wakko, and Dot are still fun and chaotic like from the original. Pinky and the Brain also return in the reboot. While still being a fun duo trying to take over the world. It was disappointing that other characters from the original haven't returned yet; like Slappy Squirrel. They might come soon in season 2.
The characters that meet the Warner siblings, and Pinky and the Brain are a mixed bag though. With some of them being fun, while others are not. The short with the alien and girl were cute, but the one with the gnome...ugh.
So my overall thoughts on the Animaniacs reboot are that the animation is good. The storylines are still fun and enjoyable. The returning characters were great as themselves. But there are still flaws like what I mentioned in my review. I would give the Animaniacs reboot a 8/10.
Home Alone (1990)
A Christmas Classic
Okay this is my first time reviewing something live action, this time a movie. I would probably review more live action stuff; but I would stick to animation. So the main plot of the movie is that Kevin Mcallister, the main character, is all home alone. From how Kevin's parents forgot to take him on a vacation to Paris, France. Kevin then has to deal with two burglars, Harry and Marv from robbing his house. This is a fun Christmas classic that is a favourite of mine, and a lot of other people.
Let's start off with the ani-; oh wait a second this is live action. Okay how about the acting and special effects. It's really good the characters do a great job on their roles; Kevin being a mischievous kid, and Harvey and Marv being funny comedic villains. The way that Kevin prepares these traps against these two burglars; looks really cool to be honest. Now let's look at the writing; the main plot is that Kevin is all home alone. The movie utilizes this plot very well with how Kevin reacts to it; being excited at first and then scared when the two burglars come. This movie is also very funny; like Kevin at first messing around in the house, and watching a mafia movie. As well as the slapstick; the two burglars have to endure. It's pretty heartwarming; like when Kevin reunites with his family.
Let's review the characters; Kevin is a great main character. He is a mischievous kid who is pretty smart for how he protects his house. As well as Harry and Marv being ridiculously funny villains; like I mentioned earlier. There is also Kevin's family; they're not that great of characters. Well even though I don't think Kevin McCallister's family are hate worthy; they're pretty flat and mean spirited. Even if they do care about Kevin. In addition there is also Old Man Marley who turns out to be misunderstood. So overall I find Kevin, Old Man Marley, and the two burglars; Harry and Marv to be great characters. While finding Kevin McCallister's family to just be there.
So my overall thoughts are that it's a great movie, and a great Christmas classic. The acting, and special effects are good. The main plot is funny and heartwarming. Most of the characters serve their purpose well. Overall I would give it a 9/10.
Also I know Home Alone has sequels; the first sequel, "Home Alone 2: Lost in New York," is good for instance. While the rest I would rather forget.
Edit: December 28, 2020; This will be my last review this year. Merry late Christmas everyone, and a happy new year.
Over the Garden Wall (2014)
Beautiful miniseries that you should watch
This review will be on the miniseries, "Over the Garden Wall." This miniseries is about two boys. Wirt the older brother, and Greg the little brother. They get lost in the woods called the Unknown, and have to get back home. Along the way they meet other characters, like the Woodsman, Beatrice the bluebird, and the Beast. This miniseries is really good, and worth watching. I'm not going to spoil too much. But this review will tell you about the series.
The animation is beautiful, and perfectly captures the atmosphere of the setting. Which is based on the Edwardian times in America. Like the forest, the houses, and the character designs. The writing is also really stellar. It knows when to be funny, heartwarming, dark, scary, and satisfying. An example is in the first episode where we are introduced to Greg, and Wirt. Who meets Beatrice, and the Woodsman who warns them about the beast. The songs are also really good. Like the theme song. Even though people will disagree. This show can get boring sometimes.
The characters are also really likable. Let's start with Wirt, the older brother. Who is the more serious of the two. But he still cares for his little brother, Greg. Who is the more mischievous and optimistic of the two. Greg also carries a frog that he keeps making names about. The other main characters include Beatrice, the talking bluebird. Who is a jerk with a heart of gold. She helps the two and defends them. The Woodsman is a more serious man. Who tries to save his daughter, while being tricked by the Beast. One of the most scary, and evil cartoon villains. Which he does a great job at. The rest of the characters are also good.
Great animation, great writing, great songs, and great characters. Even though I did say it can get boring. It's still a fantastic series. There is a good reason why this is one of the most loved cartoon miniseries. I wholeheartedly agree. That it's probably one of the best cartoons of all time. I will give it a 10/10.
SpongeBob SquarePants: The Legend of Boo-Kini Bottom (2017)
Spongebob You Succeeded in Stop Motion Again
I'm here again making reviews on Spongebob episodes. This time on a stop motion special called, "The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom." The plot of this special is that it's Halloween on Bikini Bottom, and Spongebob is scared of Halloween. Patrick encourages Spongebob, that scary= funny. So Spongebob laughs at the various haunted stuff his friends, and Plankton made. The Flying Dutchman is not happy that someone is not scared of halloween. So the Flying Dutchman decides that he will scare Spongebob himself.
Just like the "It's a Spongebob Christmas!" special. This Halloween special uses stop motion animation. It uses it very well, it's even better than in the Christmas special. I especially liked it best from the monsters, ghosts, and other haunted stuff. That the Flying Dutchman first uses to scare Spongebob, and Patrick. The writing on the other hand is also great. While not as great as in the stop motion Christmas special. It features Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Plankton first try to scare Spongebob, and Patrick. I especially like the part where Plankton tries to show that Krabby patties are actually people patties. When I don't think they are.
The characters are also likable here. Like Spongebob finding scary funny. Until his friends are in danger. But he still saves them from his heart. As well as the Flying Dutchman being a great villain. Who successfully scares Spongebob. Until he got scared himself on what's inside Spongebob's brain. Which you will have to see for yourself. If they are some negatives. It's that this is not the funniest episode. But still does have funny moments. As well as Plankton being chewed in the end being gross. But this is still a great Halloween classic. I would rate it a 9/10. Yeah I'm posting this Halloween special on Halloween.
The Problem Solverz (2011)
This is literally painful to watch.
So I'm back this time reviewing one of these infamous cartoons. This one being the Cartoon Network show "The Problem Solverz." The main plot of this cartoon is that of three detectives, Horace, Roba, and Alfe. Who solve or cause problems in the town of Farboro. Yeah even judging by how the main characters creepily stare at you in one of the pictures. There is a reason why many including me. Consider this one of the worst cartoons, or at least one of the worst in Cartoon Network.
The animation is just terrible. No no it's literally painful to watch, I have to actually WASH my eyes. When I watched this show, I'm serious. The character designs are ugly. But the background animation is so full of bright, and flashy colours. That it can literally hurt your eyes. So yeah the animation is easily the worst part of the show. How about the stories? Well there better than the animation, but most of it is pretty bad as well. They just mostly involve the 3 main characters solving problems, or even causing it. The first episode, "Time Twister," involves Alfe who messes with time, just so you can get more pizza. Though there are some creative twists here, and there. Like in the episode "Hide and Seek Ninja," where Roba turns out to be a master hide, and seek player. So that is one positive thing I have to say in this mush of a show.
The characters are mostly bad. Even outside of the horrible character designs. Horace is just your generic, bland leader. Roba is just your blank nervous geek. Not as bland as Horace. But I do find him the more tolerable of the 3 main characters. But Alfe is just the worst character on the show. First off, even though he is supposed to be a dog-anteater-man thing. He looks more like number 2. Also he is just a loud, gluttonous, obnoxious jerk who treats the other main characters badly. He also causes problems on the show from his own selfishness. Another character is Tux Dog, who is like the mentor to the 3 main characters, and he even gives them advice. But he acts like a snobby jerk most of the time.
Well I would admit that even though I consider, "The Problem Solverz" one of the worst cartoons I saw. Especially the animation. It does have a cool concept, with 3 detectives solving problems in their town. Along with creative ideas as well. Which keeps it away from a 1/10. So therefore I will give this show a 2/10. Which is still terrible.
Edit: May 28, 2022: I like this review. A rewatch, I was too generous towards this show. Even if it does have creative ideas, they seem more to make it bizarre for the sake of it. The show has awful writing, awful characters and painful animation! This would make it in my Top 10 worst cartoons. I'm now giving this show a 1/10.
