Oppenheimer (2023)
Exceptional
An exceptional film based on the Pulitzer prize winning book, Oppenheimer: American Prometheus (The Triumph And The Tragedy Of J. Robert Oppenheimer).
A film for all science and history geeks. A who's who of early 20th Century Physics and Mathematics geniuses combined in an epic tale of the brains that thought of and created the worlds most terrible weapon of mass destruction. Together with the accompanying back story of the life, loves and struggles that Oppenheimer had along the way. This is truly a great film. All the actors are exceptional, there are none "along for the ride", all give it their all in a remarkable film.
Recommended? A must for all.
Bouquet of Barbed Wire (2010)
Tortured nonsense
A stellar cast. There's absolutely no doubt about it. That said, what is missing is any plausible reason for committing this atrocious adaptation. All the characters have no redeeming features, save for two, the Gran and Son (with his natty Robert Smith style hairdo). Trevor Eve is more hammy than an Jamón ibérico. Hermione Norris is much the same. Imogen Poots and Jemima Roper should have read the script first before accepting the job. Tom Riley is just awful. Really bad. If I could have given it zero stars, I would have done so. I would heartily recommend that you avoid this at all costs. It really is a waste of your time, 3 hours of your time.
