completely absorbing drama..

I too am amazed by some of the negative reviews of this film.. it completely captured my heart from the first few minutes. I wanted to know more about what had drove Cheryl to embark on this journey which at first she was not really prepared for. I felt such a range of emotions during this film but was not once bored. A tale which explores what an emotional journey moving on from a significant loss can be but how it can be done and gives hope for moving forward and on with life... Reese Witherspoon, once again gives a brilliant performance. If you love these sort of introspective dramas I think you will enjoy this film..

Pleasant little surprise

Warning: Spoilers
Chose to watch this one night when I couldn't decide what to watch and needed something quite easy. Well.. I was pleasantly surprised. This film which pitches itself as a romantic comedy actually had a bit of hidden depth in the shape of its protagonist and his issues around relationships, no doubt related to his relationship with his mum. It sounds quite serious but is quite funny really. The starry cameos, including Peter Dinklage as a camp Barista, and Sam Rockwell as a hippie guitar teacher all add to a general quirky humour. Its not amazing by any standard but if you fancy a romance which is entertaining, amusing but makes you think a little I'd recommend you give it a whirl!

Funny rom com! with some Pathos
5 February 2014
Having watched 'Bear City' kind of by accident last week and loving it so much I watched it again.. I sought out the sequel to find out what happened to these characters who I loved so much. I'm a female, Bi so not sure if I'm the target market of this film.. but whatever.. cos it doesn't matter. The story, character arcs and witty lines will appeal to everyone I believe. I was interested to see Kevin Smith in it, who I'm a fan of but he's a blink and miss it cameo. The guy who plays Brent is soooooooooo funny.. and a lot of his scenes with his partner and mum seem improvised.. I laughed, smiled quite a lot and even at one or two points got a strange lump in my throat and a tear in my eye.. You have to pay to stream/download this from the official website but its soooo worth it! Go watch.. enjoy :-))
