A Man in Full (2024)
An entertaining watch with great music!
A GREAT performance of Jeff Daniels! And a very entertaining and provoking series.
The six episodes dives into the complexities of American life, money, power, race, win and lose, in ways that repel and captivate. The novel, which I did not know and nor have read, is a satire and I will never compare books with series or movies, they are very different things, like comparing pears with apples.
I think the series lacks a true satirical edge, look at Trump, sometimes he surpasses fiction.
A 'Man in Full' may not be groundbreaking, but it's worth a watch for those interested in an exploration of ambition, wealth, power, and politics.
Van God los (2011)
What does it take for a human to kill another?
I was not expecting this gem of a series, each episode is a different topic and the episodes are not connected, the crimes are based on real events. As in all this type of series, you will like some episodes more or less than others, some will frustrate you because of the topic, a lot of tension.
Despite not being recent, they started filming it in 2011, it is worth seeing if you like crime series, strong, rough and significant themes of our current society.
It seems very realistic to me and I wouldn't watch it with younger people under the 18 years of age.
I will never be able to understand murder, unless it is self-defense, judge for yourself. Don't miss it !
El caso Asunta (2024)
Shocking and macabre!
Great true crimes series!
With deep characters that generate a lot of interest, the cast is excellent!. The one who stands out above all of them is the wonderful and in Spain well-known actress Candela Peña, in the role of the unstable mother. It is is worth watching just to see her in the role of Rosario Porto. And of course I must also mention the role of Tristán Ulloa, really great in the role of the father, Alfonso Basterra.
The series does not invent anything and it is very well detailed, it is very intriguing and there is a lot of tension. Really gripping. This is a case that filled hours of discussions and that shocked Spanish society, the terrifying and tragic murder of Asunta. What really happened the night she disappeared?
The Judge Malvar, played by the great actor Javier Gutiérrez, is very obsessed with having the winning hand. Without caring if along the way he exposes those prosecuted to a process without all the guarantees. His attitude reaches the point that leads us to wonder if all judges are like that, and if victory and the desire to win are the only things that matter.
Another interesting thing is the media's role in this entire mess. Whether or not you believe the outcome of this case, we cannot deny the role of the media sensationalizing this horrible case, which, at its core, is of a young girl's tragic murder. It definitely makes you think and ask yourself whether the people who are supposed to protect and care for the general public really have our best interests in mind.
You shouldn't miss this one, with a sensational cast of actors, a true crime story told accurately and a tragic and powerful drama and mysterious thriller.
I dina händer (2024)
IN YOUR HANDS
This series with just five episodes, its a quick watch that hits hard.
The story is told from the standpoint of two characters but it works out into a much larger social problem that is very universal. This illustrates how all over the world we are having the same issues. Young kids get involved with gangs, drugs, crime and violence. The two young friends spend a lot of time in a very rough neighborhood, and tough guys in gangs and drugs are not uncommon.
The series does not become preachy at all, but makes you as a viewer sit up and also take notice of the alienated sections of the society.
The young actors Olle and Yasir, Douglas and Billy in the series are stunning!! And Ardalan Esmaili is simply a great actor, I know him from other Nordic shows, he is the policeman Farid in the series.
The journey of this two very young men in a very dangerous world without knowing the real and rough repercussions of their actions is very intriging and exciting, and the dramatization of the scenes does not look forced to me and is very realistic. They also explored the depths of grief and anger by those left behind.
The story is simple, but the truth isn't. It is brutal, heartbreaking and really important. What happens when the power of friendship is confronted with brutal choices? And what happens when a society fails to protect its kids?
By the way I just want to get rid of the only criticism I have, some of the music doesn't wraps some of the scenes well at all. It is not always well adapted in my opinion.
The question is when children commit horrible crimes, who bears responsibility? Can a child be a monster?, and if so, how does that happen? How can we, as a society, allow it to happen?! While it can be easy to blame adults, but it is really is a much larger problem.
This series is an intense and compelling story. Full of very relevant and important problems in our society, it is tough!. It challenges viewers to confront uncomfortable truths while delivering a gripping and emotionally great series!
Secuestro al vuelo 601 (2024)
A movie would have been better!
The Hijacking of Flight 601 is based on real events and it had some good acting, although I did not know the highly valued (in the reviews) Monica Lopera at all.
This series could be much more exciting and realistic if it had been a movie, no doubt.
The 1st episode left me frustrated because it seems like a soap opera melodrama with comedy tones to me, and I know the Latin American mentality and language well. I kept watching it, but without success, too long and a lot of invented drama, this takes away from its quality in my opinion. It becomes tiring and boring between some exciting moments, the drama and the analysis of the characters dominates.
This was simply not my cup of tea.
Griselda (2024)
ROUGH ENTERTAINMENT
I liked it!! The series captured my attention from the first moment and did not let go until the end. And by the way, I've never liked comparisons, so comparing this series to Narcos is absolutely ridiculous.
I had not seen much of the Colombian actress Sofia Vergara. She does a great job and manages to capture the essence of Griselda, showing her cruel and ruthless determination in a very captivating way. Each episode is full of unexpected twists and tense moments that keep the adrenaline flowing.
The 6 episodes are also made with a lot of dynamism and combined with excellent music, that is why it fulfills the purpose of entertaining and engaging the viewer. The moments of action and crime are spectacular and many of them unexpected, they will make you jump off the couch.
The series is in Spanish from Latin America, and some English. It is essential to see it in the original version.
And I must mention that I am more than tired, as a woman, about the feminist comments about the series and so on,... just have fun watching it.
Griselda invites you to an entertaining experience. Although it may seem a bit lightweight compared to the true story of Griselda Blanco, it's still a solid option for those looking for a dose of drama and action on the small screen. The great chosen cast, frenetic pace and cultural authenticity, is a recommendable option for those looking for an excitement, action and drama.
No estás sola (2024)
LA MANADA
A very good documentary. A complex challenge due to the importance of a case that marked and changed the Spanish society. And maybe it sounds cliché but it is was necessary and I am really glad that they have documented it for Netflix.
I know the case, but after having seen the documentary I realized that I didn't know everything, it is very well detailed and told. The work is done with care and clarity not only talking about the case but also generating a debate that is still very alive, like the fight against machismo in society. On a technical and artistic level it follows a standard, although the use of some nice music is a good choice.
I really liked the way it transports you to the 'San Fermines' in Pamplona and shortly after the big party has started it becomes a real and big brutal crime.
'No estás sola' is important to see and emotion and information will not leave anyone indifferent. This was a horrific gang rape in Spain! And they meticulously put together the events of that horror night.
It is about the fight for justice, raising crucial questions about consent, victim blaming, and societal responsibility. There is no doubt that this documentary provokes high emotions of injustice, frustration and at the same time empathy.
Don't miss this one.
Ripley (2024)
A SINISTER MASTERPIECE!
Where to start...., it is simply one of the best series I have seen!
The style is what catches your eye first, in a macabre story about the twists and turns of the human mind in all the beautiful shades of black, grey and white, and at the same time embraces the film noir atmosphere.
The story is a really fascinating and wonderful journey, around beautiful Italy in the 60's, of crime, psychological manipulation, thriller and mistery. And it has a clear approach to the creepy tension in Hitchcock's movies.
It even has moments of humor, and the dialogues are amazing, especially with the detectives who investigate the case.
As we already know, Tom Ripley is very much a fraud and a grifter, but he is also a character you end up liking and even respecting. The slow pace at times, didn't bother me at all!! There is so much to observe and enjoy, the amazing photography, beautiful landscapes and all the details, just fantastic! And let's not forget the music that accompanies all this!
The actors are all wonderful, and the increasing tension as Tom's lies and plans steadily unravel, makes you want to see more and more.
Well.. I have absolutely nothing negative to add.
Like I said before, It's one of the best series I've seen, and I've seen a lot. It even left me wanting more, if there had been more chapters I wouldn't have cared at all. I didn't want it to end! Can you film more episodes please?
When They See Us (2019)
Absolutely Brilliant!!!
It is very clear that this series is a great production, from beginning to end, of great quality without a doubt.
I didn't know this true story so for me the ending was something totally unexpected!! No spoilers here by the way.
It is a very heavy journey to watch. It is not a story of overcoming but a journey through the miseries of an American social sector in the face of a system that not only ignores them, but also seems destined to subject them to a state of absolute invisibility. The story of The Central Park Five and the rape of the jogger that occurred in 1989 is one of the examples that the director and screenwriter takes to give them body and, more importantly, VOICE.
I must also mention that some of the affected families are very selfish, negligent and very vulnerable, which makes the series even harder to watch and accept. Don't get me wrong, it is the year 1989 when the tragedy begins, but still. Without a doubt the families could have helped a lot more during the inevitable incarceration and recovery afterwards.
The four episodes are from the perspective of the adolescents and their families. This time the five have names and faces, and a place in the daily history of the city. The perspective tells the story of those involved, the abyss between them and the system told from their experiences.
With patience, almost like a documentary, the creator, director and screenwriter Mrs Ava Duvernay, places the characters in time and space, giving them a 3dimensional look, which, thanks to the great cast, provokes, disturbs, anger and excites. Great job!
Beyond this great production, photography and music, this miniseries is sustained by a great cast of young people, and also because it is a way of making justice on a case where the system failed from the beginning. Making the young man involved visible, is giving them the compensation they deserve.
If you like very tough series and also based on real events with court cases, prison, etc...don't miss this one!
Three Identical Strangers (2018)
Three Strangers
I'm really impressed by the high rating. Don't get me wrong, it is a remarkable documentary. A jaw dropping story. Well documented using intervies and really good archive footage.
My main problem is that it's too long and too repetitive, there are also many silent stops to further dramatize the story, but they don't work in my opinion.
During the first hour, I was thinking "what's the point?" and then the story seems a little more interesting. Although it wasn't what I expected at all. It started to intrigue me a little and that's why I watched it until the end, because the story went from amazing to incredible. I was expecting something stronger to be honest, I don't know, something criminal and thrillish.
I must also mention the music and photography, they are to my taste, really well done. Also from NY in the 80's.
I definitely agree with the journalist suggestion that there are a lot of powerful people who would like to have this story silenced.
But..having said that.. in general this is not a story that excites or interests me. Adoptions I mean, no matter how amazing this is. That's why it's not for me.
Please judge for yourself.
Annabelle (2014)
It is not the normal and cliché horror movie, but a mysterious story!
Not bad for a horror movie. I thought it was going to be about the doll but the story is a little more interesting, it's not about one of those dolls that open their eyes and attack you, that's why I liked it more.
I would have given it maybe a 7 if they had taken the opportunity to turn the story into something more dynamic and exciting, the plot is slow.
I also thought it was great that the movie does not become the cliché of a crazy mother and the husband who does not believe her, on the contrary it is quite realistic in its reactions.
I didn't expect the ending, finally something unpredictable in my opinion for this type of movie, judge for yourself. ☺😆
Baby Ruby (2022)
No depth and nothing to learn here.
I saw the movie in 2 phases, on different days... and I forward some parts with the remote control. I watched it in its entirety because of that little thing that happens sometimes in your head when you want to see what is going to happen in the end. Strange plot.
It's a shame not to have told a better and more realistic story about this couple, Jo and Spencer, the story wastes too much time on a subplot about other nonsense misteries, because most of the movie turns into a cliché of the "paranoid woman who is not believed," which is very common in horror, except that this isn't a horror movie. It's a very superficial exercise in motherhood fears. Spencer, just becomes a husband who reacts in stereotypical ways when his wife starts to have terrified reactions to strange things.
I found all the characters really uninteresting, only the mother in law gave me some chills. By the way, there are also too many repetitive and illogical moments, and there comes a time when you no longer know what is real and not. The baby constantly crying gets on your nerves, and that is precisely what they want in this story, to drive you crazy and to feel what they feel, but in a really very bad way, since it makes you stop watching the movie. Down the volume.
The ending is a real mess full of confusion without any conclusion in my opinion. Nothing to learn here.
I guess that maybe, and only maybe, mothers with problems after pregnancy will like it more????, if that is the case here, because I have reached my own conclusion, but that will have to be decided by those who want to see it.
What Jennifer Did (2024)
Despite my criticisms it is a gripping watch!!
To begin with, the title does not seem well thought out to me at all, and it is not the only thing that is done poorly in this documentary.
I think that this crime story from Canada will appeal primarily to people interested in true crime documentaries, but I must admit as a fan of crime stories, that this one is really dull. They are too many unexplained details, what a disappointment. DNA tests are missing in the house, etc etc..etc..etc .. The most frustrating thing is not having investigated her phone records earlier, incomprehensible! It makes no sense to me.
There are also many repetitive things, to fill time I imagine.
A great part consists of showing archival footage of interviews that Jennifer had with investigators at the Markham police station. Jennifer's father, who is still alive, spoke to police after he came out of his coma, but he's a very minor player in this story and it would have been fascinating to hear more from him. .. I can go on..
There is much more material that they could have used to make a much more interesting and complete documentary, with more respect and responsibility as it should be in these cases. The end seems rushed and a little unclear for me.
For true crime fans who are looking for a quick and interesting crime story, it's worth watching! . It manages to entertaing with some surprising details and twists into it's short running time.
Mad Dogs (2011)
Sun and crime
I watch a lot of English police and crime series, and this one is quality, but certainly not one of the best. I'm surprised that it's from 2011, it seems much more recent.
I liked it, it is a black comedy and I think it is a pantomime about crime and mafia series. My review is based on the 1st and 2nd season.
The episodes are short, and although at first I was frustrated by the level of testosterone, the truth is that I couldn't stop it, due to all those continuous and unexpected twists and turns that addictively ask to see more.
The actors are really good, as are some of the dialogues and the creativity of the story, although it is also somewhat tiring to see this group of men arguing about their problems and increasingly distrusting each other while they have other much bigger problems. The humor is good, but it's not something to burst into laughter, but rather bland.
The photography in the Balearic Islands and the landscapes are wonderful, which gives the series a bitter tone almost like the series Death in Paradise, which by the way I like a lot! By the way I am not comparing anything, because they are two very different series.
Judge for yourself, it's refreshing, disturbing and different.
Smile, c'était écrit (2023)
THE FEAR WRITER
I am stunned to see only 2 reviews of this movie, which does not mean that few people have seen it, but it does surprise me. I say this because I thought it was a good movie, psychological, tense and terrifying with a most unexpected and interesting ending.
Don't be influenced by the beginning of the movie, a little slow but not at all boring, very quickly the terrifying and tense events will dominate until the end.
Jérémy is a young writer whose popularity is increasing. He decides to visit friends for a weekend. His calm is interrupted by a series of strange and disturbing events.
The title seemed quite strange to me, and not only because it is in English, but I don't see the point.
The dialogues transform from friendly to psychopathic and make you feel uncomfortable on several occasions. And the actors reach the level that this subject deserves. The only character that I did not like at all is that of Jeremy's partner, Mathilde, what a strange woman and hateful with that wig hairstyle and a very strange expression on her face.
I recommend it especially for fans of psychological thrillers, combined with some horror. The movie is for 18+ for a good reason, so you are warned, it is strong and chilling. And it's good to have paid attention to such an interesting topic, no spoilers here.
The Evil Dead (1981)
It's not scary and it's not a masterpiece!
The Evil Dead started filming in 1979 but wasn't released until 1981. The film is 85 minutes long, but it feels like three hours for me,....
SO NOW IT'S TIME TO FACE REALITY, IT IS REALLY REALLY BAD!
I am a fan of horror movies and the 80s, but this one is not for me. Apart from this I think that the movie is too overrated, does not seem logical to me. Just because it's from the 80s and has good effects doesn't mean you should overrate it. Look at the movie Friday the 13th, also 80's, much better quality without a doubt, and it's scary!, and Frid 13 has a much lower rating.
I agree that the movie is well made with a very low budget. But let's not exaggerate, the actors are very bad and the story does not have any feelings, or solid and logical dialogue. Better actors or some who make more effort would have served the movie better, and it would have turned the story into something more logical and intelligent,
and not a comedy!
And please don't turn a group of adults into a group of super stupid people, because young children are smarter!
I guess that the only positive thing I see in this film is that, maybe it served as a springboard for others that were made later, I see similarities in several scenes with other horror movies.
For me it doesn't matter what year you see this movie, if I had seen it in the 80s I would have thought the same thing.
Decide for yourself, but I think it's not worth seeing.
Speak No Evil (2022)
You have the devil in front of you and you still don't see him?
I liked having seen the movie, it kept my attention from beginning to end. Very psychological, chilling and uncomfortable at times. It is strong and very frustrating as well.
Some of the music combined with the silence make it a a tough watch but also difficult to look away from.
It is well made and acted, but the story lacks any sense of purpose, and also takes its time to build the tension.
The protagonists annoying incompetence is big no go here, but we must endure this families to the end.
I think they are trying to say something about dominant and submissive personality. The plot is no surprise and the actions of the main characters become less and less believable as the film moves along. I understand that there are maybe those who think that without adding this type of decisions there is no movie, but this is beyond unrealistic and ridiculous, and it is a shame because this whole odyssey begins in the most realistic, tense and entertaining way.
Bjorn and Louise, the Norwegian couple.. he is the kind of guy always laughing and trapped in a life he doesn't want, but this is no reason to be an idiot. I'm glad that Louise had the courage to speak up and perceive something at the beginning.
The amount of things that these Norwegians accept is disproportionate, and by the way I must said that this couple does not dare to express their feelings between them either, and leaving the children with an unknown caregiver while you go to dinner is reeeally annoying.
The girl is extremely spoiled, as proven by having to go back to look for the teddy. WTF! It is not surprising that in the end Bjorn asks: why did you did this to us? And Patrick says: because you let us. The best sentence of the movie!
I always put myself in the place of others, especially when it comes to a movie and what you would do. In this case, the extreme stupidity in the decisions made is unforgivable.
Judge for yourself, very tough but it's still worth watching!
Crime Scene Berlin: Nightlife Killer (2024)
The killer without motive
The general story of the case in Crime Scene Berlin: Nightlife Killer is quite well presented, and makes for a decent watch. Three short episodes you can easily watch as a documentary feature film.
It combines lively recreational images, too many and unnecessary flashy scenes and pounding techno beats with interviews with law enforcement and victims' families to provide a look into Germany's gay society in 2012.
This season focuses on a serial killer who targeted gay men in Berlin. Fortunately, one victim survives the drugging and can testify and help the police.
I though police detectives were ignoring certain evidence and making hasty and questionable conclusions.
What I don't understand is the way some family and friends tell the story, in a cold way and as if you were talking about a birthday party, maybe it's the sobriety of the Germans.
Some details are mentioned in passing, for example I'm thinking about the serial killer himself, who gets the usual "He was such a nice man" description.
We do hear details about him not really wanting to be in Berlin, yet moving there for a partner. And then we never hear more about this partner again, which was strange to me.
Well, I have a a mixture of feelings in my head, it is a captivating story and at the same time a little confusing and somewhat monotonous.
The best part for me is the testimonials from the killer with provides a degree of shock, but in general the documentary falls short to maintain a truly engaging viewing, ..
But still it's worth a watch !
West of Memphis (2012)
GREAT DOCUMENTARY
What a shame I didn't see this documentary before, amazing! I am really glad I've seen it, it's one of the best I've seen in years, with many details and authentic archive images that are sometimes very hard to see. Using a mix of archival and new footage, it is a very well documented story. It is a long journey for the viewer, although it lasts 2 and a half hours, it is the same as having divided it into 3 episodes, so that doesn't really matter.
Unfortunately, the end resolution left me dissatisfied, and does not represent justice as it should at all. The worst thing is that once again money and power win, although this final solution is always better than none at all.
Public perception and police misconduct are the hightlines here, the perfect mix for justice failure, a very frequent problem in America, and the mix of violence and economic deprivation, and also the press, photographers and gossip that do not help at all.
Well, you must see this for yourself and make up your own mind but the worst part is the fact that the guilty (maybe) still out there? I have doubts and not know totally for sure if these men were guilty of the crimes to which they were sentenced, but I do recognize a perversion of justice and a sentence made on weak evidence.
Don't miss this one!
The Sixth Commandment (2023)
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!
Very very good!! , one of the best series I've seen lately, very credible made. Realistic like life itself and with great actors, all amazing! The actor Timothy Spall (Peter Farquhar) delivers a performance that surpasses any previous work, truly sensational!
There is absolutely no humor in this story, it is a very tragic true murder and tense psychological drama, made with respect and studying the intrusion of malevolence into the lives of good, kind and godly people in a small British village, quite devastating.
You'll sometimes want to look away because it is truly disconcerting and frustrating at the same time.
Who said you are stupid or unintelligent because of your religious beliefs? To be honest anyone who thinks that way is quite a fool. For example Peter is a very inteligent and very kind man, but the meticulous Ben Field is a disconcerting blend of calculation, manipulation and charm, it becomes almost impossible to notice what he's doing, almost impossible, I repeat.
The series is also a reminder of the power of faith, loneliness, and the vulnerability of humanity, the example is in all the people who continue to be victims of scams today. It has nothing to do with faith or religious choice.
It is as remarkable and excellent production, that's why I recommend it if you are a fan of strong emotions and deeply psychological crimes.
When Missing Turns to Murder (2019)
Really good!
Very good English series, with many details, it is well documented from beginning to end of each disappearance case. The first season is of better quality in my opinion. I think it's because the 2nd season has more cases of young children, some cases got on my nerves, and the social services and their negligence, that's how it's everywhere, so let's not blame the parents!!! Please!!!
In most episodes there are many unexpected things that will leave you speechless, how cruel the human race is, the worst without a doubt.
Most of the cases are very well investigated and you will like some cases more than others, it is strong and if you like exciting and well-told crime and police investigations,
don't miss it!
Mano de hierro (2024)
Survival and power!
I must admit that after watching the first episode I was not positive at all. I found it poor and very planned, like trying to imitate the really good series on this topic. But oh boy! I'm glad I gave it one more chance, starting with the second episode it's something quite different, very exciting and with great action scenes and better dialogues, I also really like the combination of the different characters. Very powerful! Many scenes will take you to the edge of your sofa due to the tension and suspense.
I found the sex scenes totally unnecessary, although I have always seen it as something very typical of Spanish series and movies.
The great cast of actors is a very good choice and the photography in the seaport of Barcelona is an interesting and different premise.
The actor, Eduard Fernández, Joaquin Manchado in the series, is really good in his role, he becomes the capo, the Barcelona 'godfather' of a criminal network that he manages with an iron fist, and not just metaphorically. ...but..the decision to replace his hand with an iron hook, due to an accident, seems exaggerated if I may say so.
If you're a fan of these cruel bloody crime thrillers, a lot of good action and mystery plots, then don't miss this one. Is a really good production.
Homicide: New York (2024)
Very challenging crime documentary!
On the island of Manhattan there are two detective squads dedicated to homicides: Manhattan North and Manhattan South, this are the stories! You can almost hear the classic
"Law & Order" music at the end . Veeery interesting and challenging crime stories created by Dick Wolf, seen from the point of view of the NYPD and the prosecuters.
The series is very well done and documented, the 5 episodes go by quickly, which is a very good sign. The only negative I must say that I also found it a little over produced, but this true crime show is so intriguing and exciting that it didn't matter to me at all.
If you are not a fan of this type of crime and police series, it is better not to watch it, it has graphic images of some crimes and quite a few very morbid details.
I certainly recommend this, it truly serves the essence of the NYPD, and the city of New York no matter the decade it was being set in.
From (2022)
Captivating story of mystery and terror!
Wow! I'm really glad that I decided to watch this series. I subsequently became totally hooked. I am not a great fan of scifi but this one is horror! The 'monsters' are ugly, smiley, terrifying and look almost like normal people, till they don't, pretty deceiving and really really creepy! It's very different from other apocalyptic series, and the show isn't in a hurry to answer.
The two main actors, and most important in my opinion, Harold Perinneau and Elizabeth Saunders, Boyd and Donna in the series are really great! They act with a lot of realism and familiarity, as if they became your friends. Great actors!
A town from which no person who arrives there will be able to escape is a simple premise, and it works! No doubt. I have read some comparisons with another series, but I won't do it, this one is simply unique, original, bloody at times and creepy. How do you survive in a place you don't understand? A complete nightmare!.
Some of its mysteries are like a puzzle, quite mysterious, and the series certainly knows how to stage a cliffhanger and keep you watching.
I don't think it's fair to criticize it badly for the possible unanswered answers, on the contrary you can use your own fantasy to solve the mysteries offered, because this series is worth a lot more than just 4 or 5 stars.
This review is based on seasons 1 and 2, and when the third is available I will surely watch it. Don't miss it! It's a scary and creepy fun ride!
Anatomie d'une chute (2023)
Looks are deceiving
I really liked the movie. I am a fan of courtroom movies, and if its maybe criminal even better. This was a very good trial! The anatomy is very realistic and detailed, and also heavy and chilling, quite hard to watch at times. Psychological introspection, analytical, precise and cold.
The only thing I didn't like at all is the choice of music, I imagine they chose it so annoying on purpose to further heighten the feeling of tension and frustration?!!?
The lifes of mother and son, Sandra and Daniel, lead to a nightmare when Samuel dies. Is it a crime or an accident? All this leads to an examination of a marriage from all angles,
it's very daring, a long film that sometimes feels maybe too chilly, but it builds up to a series of scenes that hit quite hard.
The son Daniel and some of the scenes with his mother seemed quite tense to me at times, very realistic, tests the relationship between both mother and son,
this young little man is a very talented actor. The dialogues are all very staged, such as the scenes in which Sandra is with her lawyer having drinks and at the end of the film.
The length of the film let us really feel the cold in this family's home. The sense that we don't trust our partners? Asks deep questions about its characters, having say that and due to the logical analysis that the lawyers make of the marital life of this couple, I only missed a little more information about Samuel's character.
I totally recommend this movie! The power of this one is by recognizing it doesn't have all the answers. And that is really great and real in this story!
