Our Cartoon President (2018)
It's like if Homer Simpson became president
Our cartoon president is somewhat entertaining. I mean what hasn't been spoofed about Donald Trump? The funniest parts are when they show actual clips of the real Donald Trump making a fool of himself. Our Cartoon president tries to satirize him, but when compared to his actual presidency it seems much more tame and the characters are likable, rather than the country destroying monsters they really are.
One of the few good qualities of the show are the caricatures. Not the animation, the animation is sub par. Just the way all the characters look, kind of morphs our entire political world in cartoon form and it's somewhat neat to see.
Idono why, but Ted Cruz kind of gives off a Flanders vibe, he's an annoying nosy neighbor bugging old Homer/Donald. If Flanders was nuts. Most portrayals of politicians is kind of meh, because we've seen all of them at their worst. The best portrayals are the Trump flock. Him, Melania and his kids are hilarious to watch.
It started off kind of generic and stale humor, but I just read showtime has ordered seven more episodes and I'll still be watching.
Gojira: Kaijû Wakusei (2017)
Exposition Exposition Exposition
For a movie being called Godzilla monster planet, you barely see Godzilla, you barely see monsters and believe it or not you barely see the planet. All you get is a bunch of crumby animated tech. The dialogue is choppy and repetitive, the characters are so bland, that the entire time I hoping that one alien priest to turn out to be a robot. Seriously, his voice is very robotic.
The movie not only scorns old Godzilla lore, but you have to squint only to realize Godzilla looks like he's made of wood. Maybe it should be called Grootzilla. After the dull plot of Shin Godzilla and like Digimon Tri it's very long and drawn out with nothing really happy. Don't worry though, you'll get all kinds of sub par political future jargon.
Gaga: Five Foot Two (2017)
Sweet Dee's success
Gaga: Five foot two reminds me of that time in 'It's Alway's Sunny In Philadelphia' where Sweet Dee imagined her own success, she was extremely narcissistic and full of herself.
Granted if you have ever watch a Lady Gaga interview you would understand that she has developed the 'center of the world' complex. Where she has no idea what to say unless it pertains to herself.
After the first few minutes of this documentary you could tell everybody was going to constantly agree and suck up to her. One lady did start to say something that could be constructive criticism, but Gaga was suddenly topless and you could see the poor girl losing her train of thought.
There is even a scene where Gaga's car hits one of her friends and as she goes to confront the guy all you can subconsciously think is "Oh god, this guy's going to end up apologizing for to her for her mistake isn't he?"
I love Lady Gaga's music, her music videos are absolutely brilliant, but whatever this was, it shuts your brain down. I mean it's a good show if you want to spend it playing on your phone, even then the sounds of narcissism might make you break it. Better off avoiding toad squash all together. If you have to watch something you're better off watching This is Spinal tap.
