Deep Blue Sea (1999)
Nice one.
I've seen this multiple times. As almost all Renny Harlin's movies, this is just another misjudged but good film. Several scientists are finding the cure for Alzheimer's disease, but eventually they get trapped in an underwater station - with sharks. Extra intelligent sharks.
One by one they get into the sharks' teeth in the desperate try to get to the surface. This is, as the matter of fact - not a pure thriller. As in many movies like this, including for example the creepy Event Horizon, there is one person to always make you laugh. This time it's the priest, acted by LL Cool J. His quotes should be as famous as "who's your daddy" and "I see dead people." One of the best was when he was throwing a lighter in a room full of oven gas and one of the sharks: He rises the lighter and says calmly: "You ate my bird." If you like thrillers, you better watch this.
Kopps (2003)
I liked it.
Kopps (eng. "Cops") is a Swedish comedy, which tells about a small town with no crime. The police forces are satisfied with that, spending most of their time in a snack bar.
But the cops' life stops smiling, when they hear that the police forces are possibly going out of order, due to the low amount of crime. They have no choice, but do something about the too low amount of crime, but how are polices supposed to do that?
My favorite character was Benny, the guy who had watched too many Hollywood films. He was often caught daydreaming as a super cop. There is an animated gif-file on the Internet, where Benny beats three criminals without even firing his gun with his hands. Might be worth finding that clip.
