Bruno Reidal (2021)
French young Dahmer in 1900s
Amazing movie, with so many conflicting feelings that it can give you. The story does not reveal why but how and what was inside the kid's mind. Religion plays a great role here and it makes you think why some sins are greater than others, what is acceptable and what is not. Throughout the years, humanity accepted some of the sins as being normal, human while some remained at the same level. For those who grew up in the country side in a poor country, the scenery is all too familiar: the killing of a pig once a year and the work that is being done at a farm. Great lead actor, the future for this young guy is paved with success.
Not Alone (2021)
good idea, poor execution
There's no horror here. I'm not talking about gory stuff, there's no atmosphere, no scare, no feeling with this movie. I guess the script didn't help but neither did the music. I wonder if the ones in charge with the music ever saw the raw version of the movie because man, the sounds are so not ok with the scenes.
All in all, if there's nothing else to do, you could watch it. But don't expect any bonding with the characters or a feeling of some sort.
The Sonata (2018)
loved it!
If you're a musician and love the slow-paced, atmospheric horrors, you'll understand. Beautiful photography and perfect music to match. Overall it doesn't fall into the category "mystery totally solved" but it certainly brings something that few other movies do, the music that makes your skin crawl.
