Holmes & Watson (2018)
Enjoyable
Found the movie quite enjoyable. Reminder me of comedies from when I was young. It gave me the same feeling as Coming to America, Trains planes and automobiles, etc used to.
Family Guy: Three Directors (2017)
Disappointing
I have to agree with what Lois says in the end "I didn't care for the episode". For me the idea promised a lot but it didn't deliver what I expected.
Doctor Who: It Takes You Away (2018)
Worst episode of the season
I've been liking almost all episodes of this season and Jodie Whittaker as the Doctor. This episode however was just awful (worse that the spider episode).
Gravity (2013)
Haven't been this disappointed by a film for quite some time.
It's hard if not impossible to see how this movie got such good reviews. As I write this it still has a 8.1 score.
My girl and I had high expectations, however within half an hour we were both convinced that this was a watch once movie.
The characters lack backstory which meant that they felt more like extra's (red shirts) then like main characters that you were rooting for to survive. I found myself unable to care about whether or not any of them would survive/return.
What's up with Kowalsky playing with his archaic (MMU's haven't been used for 30 years) space jetpack. No respectable astronaut would behave that irresponsibly with limited resources.
Parts of the movie were so scientifically inaccurate that they were almost laughable. One of them being the orbit of the hubble telescoop, which, in real life, is 255Km or 158.4 miles higher then the ISS, yet in the movie then seem to have the same orbit. These and others are well documented on other sites so I won't go into that any further.
I love 3D but it didn't add much to this film and could have easily been watched without it. On the positive side the CGI was good.
In the end we were left with that familiar feeling, that this is time of our lives that we will never get back
Man on the Moon (1999)
Waste of time
Don't expect a funny movie just because it's a Jim Carry movie. You will be very very disappointed if you do. Even the cable guy was many times funnier then this movie. Jim Carry acted very well however it's not the kind of movie you would expect from him. Man on the moon is definitely a drama and you need to search very hard to find any comedy in it.
However from what i understood, Andy Kaufman wasn't very funny himself. Which does mean that it is, at the very least a realistic movie. Though it's definitely not worth the 7.4 it has at the moment this short review was written.
There isn't anything more useful i can say about this movie. However to be able to submit this short review i will need to write at least ten lines.
Casino Royale (2006)
The movie is nice but it's no Bond movie.
I've seen that there were lots of people that find it a fantastic Bond movie but i can't agree at all. Yes as a movie i liked it but i hated it as a Bond movie. No Q, no gadgets, no moneypenny and for me bond should be a ladykiller and i'm sorry but i can't find Daniel Craig to be a ladykiller. For me he looks like a boxer that was to late to duck a few times.
And whats with this prequel but not a prequel stuff. I'm not against the thought of a Bond prequel but then make it a real prequel and not a half one. Bond exists already for years and in set times. How can you have a prequel that plays in 2006. It ruined the movie for me.
I hope the next movie will be a traditional Bond movie again with a Bond that i can believe again and then i'll try to forget that i ever saw this one. If they continue in this line then (for me) the Bond movies stopped at "Die Another Day".
