Imagination Movers (2007)
Very cute but I am surprised about the while-male dominated cast
My daughter (almost 3) enjoys it but doesn't really get most of it.
The music -- sometimes it reminds me of the B52's -- anyone know why?? In any case, the stories are kind of cute but not particularly meaningful. And Nina is the cutest, although somewhat passive and muted while the 4 white guys jump around and do stuff.
I'm not overly "PC" but somehow would like to see more balance...not a token minority role just real diversity. I know parts of America are still mostly White, but where I grew up had lots of Native Americans. Where I live and work now, the Whites are no longer the majority but there are very many Latinos, Blacks, Indians, East Asians, etc. And, maybe more important, increasing numbers of MIXED, ethnically ambiguous people. How did this modern show get away with being all white except the cute semi-Hawaiian secretary girl?
O orgasmos tis ageladas (1996)
I enjoyed this film
I found this film enjoyable and amusing, although it has been quite some time since I saw it at the Houston International Film Festival ("Worldfest").
I was hoping it might be around on DVD, but looks like not! :*(
The high point of the film was probably when the two teenage girls were spying on one girl's father. Her father, a veterinarian, was administering treatment to a cow. Apparently the cow was "unfullfilled" and, as such, needed some kind of stimulation, which was the man's arm, which he inserted in a glove then into the cow...which, I assume, leads to the name of the movie.
The girls were, of course, aghast...
