The Fourth Kind (2009)
A little boring and not a good theme
May contain spoilers.
I'm not going to get into whether or not the clips, story, etc. was real or not, but I do find it odd that extraterrestrial visitors would use humans as intergalactic communicators, if you will. Seems kinda...lame. I am a believer of extraterrestrial life (and I own all 7 seasons of the X-files on DVD), but the concept that they would come to Earth for such seemingly pathetic reasons (to poke-and-prod and use humans as a radio of sorts) hardly seems enough. It sounds like a rather boring job (and I am an accountant, a job that is hardly deemed exciting by most people).
Is the Earth a one-stop-spot for some type of intergalactic Biology 101 course? Anyway, as for the movie itself, it was slow and rather uneventful. Not much of a sci-fi, not much of anything. I suppose it was worth watching it one time, if only to see what someone else's theory is regarding these visitations.
5/10
Paranormal Activity (2007)
This movie was so unrealistic... yet it wasn't bad....
Here we have two (seemingly) young 20-somethings, one is a student (an English major) and the other is a day trader (if I heard correctly), and they lived inside a large and expensive house, with expensive furnishings and driving a convertible sports car. That is so fake... (ha, ha). This movie was filmed in 2007 before the economic downturn and there were news stories about how credit card companies and banks were lending out all kinds of money to younger people, but this is a little ridiculous. I couldn't get that out of my head when I watched the movie.
Yes, I watched the movie last night and it wasn't bad. I did not jump once, partly because you were warned when something was going to happen when you heard a low drone or hum. I watched it late at night (starting at 12:45 am) with the lights off but I wasn't bothered by it -- not in the least. But I still found it to be an interesting story and I would like to watch it again some day (at least one year from now; I bought the DVD).
7/10.
Legend of the Seeker (2008)
I read the books...
This is my opinion, and it differs from the majority of other users. I accept that.
I did not know about the series until late summer and I was extremely interested. I have read all of the books (all but one have been read twice; I may have even read some of the earlier books 3 times, but I cannot remember), so I was eager to see the small screen adaptation of the books.
Unfortunately, after trying to watch a couple of episodes, I couldn't stand it and deleted the other episodes saved on my PVR. Part of the problem is that I tried to watch the series mid-way through, but I thought I could wade through it since I read books. I was wrong. The story varied so much from the books I found it frustrating to find out what was going on.
I wanted to view the series on TV because I was probably a few mouse-clicks from buying the show on DVD but I thought it would be prudent to watch it on TV to see if I would like it.
So my advice is that if you are a fan of Goodkind's Sword of Truth novels, please be advised you may not enjoy the series. Had I not read the books, there is a much better chance I would have enjoyed the series, especially given everyone else's comments but I was expecting more continuity with the novels (based on my limited view of the series).
Shutter (2008)
This movie was terrible
Usually I'm pretty easy-going about horror movies; I can usually watch movies for their entertainment value, despite some of the lower remarks of some people. But this ain't one of them. This movie was boring. I mistakingly bought it partly because the DVD commercial looked interesting and partly because I thought the average IMDb.com rating was 6.4/10, not 4.8/10 (as it stands today). Nowadays, I usually try to avoid movies with a rating less than 6/10 (in most cases).
In any case, this movie was boring and not even remotely scary. There were a few interesting scenes, but most of them were near the end/climax of the movie. Even the dialogue/relationship between Jane and Ben were laughable, though I cannot remember how at the moment. I'm beginning to wonder if I am beginning to block this movie from my memory (but not enough for me to watch it a 2nd time).
To help give you an idea of how bad this was, I liked White Noise and Boogeyman (2005) better than this flick.
The Return (2005)
Save your money
I made the mistake of shellin' out 25 bucks for this movie. I should have just rented it. It was decent enough to watch but not to own. I made the mistake of thinking it was an interesting horror movie, but I was mistaken. Serves me right for not doing a little bit of research first. I was in the mood for a new supernatural horror movie when I bought this one, but everything seems to fall short of the mark these days. All flash and no substance. That and I've gotten desensitized over the years...
But this movie was still decent/interesting enough to watch, though I would certainly not consider it a horror. There were moments when I thought things may finally pick up but they did not go in the direction I had hoped.
If you're wanting to see this movie, either rent it or purchased a used copy. Save your money.
The Grudge 2 (2006)
It's alright, I suppose...
I saw the movie earlier this week, back-to-back with the prequel. The first Grudge movie (i.e., I'm referring to the American version) was pretty good; it had been a while since I had last seen it. But I was a little disappointed with the second one. Much of the imagery was pretty good, but I think the score was not as effective this time around. When they tried to make us jump, the tension or suspense had not been built up properly.
But compared to some other recent supernatural horrors, this one's not bad. I'll watch it again when it comes on DVD. It's not the best but it's far from the worst. And the special effects were still pretty good in comparison with the first one.
And I liked the little twist near the end; I had not quite expected it to work out that way (although I suspected something was odd after hearing/seeing a few references, but I thought it had something to do with urban myths).
It's too bad that Sarah Michelle Gellar could not have a larger role in the movie... And is it just me, or are there more caucasians living in Tokyo than Japanese????
Napoleon Dynamite (2004)
Terrible, absolutely terrible (in my opinion)
It's been about five months when I saw this atrocity, but I cringe each and every time I think of it.
Normally, I can watch any movie. I can even sit through kiddie movies like Finding Nemo. But this was a different story. I could not necessarily walk away from it because it was a "family night" with other relatives. But at least I did not have to shell out any cash to watch it.
The storyline was pathetic as was the "acting." And it was not funny, not in the slightest. Not much of an argument, I cannot remember much about the movie, but my general impression remains.
Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
Unbelievable
Unbelievable if you do not believe in government and/or corporate conspiracies. That aside, the movie was unbelievably awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It seems that perhaps 9 times out of 10, sequels never meet the flair of the first movie, but this movie was not the case.
In fact, in some respects, I enjoyed this movie more than the first. Perhaps its the increased involvement and conspiracy-driven motivations of the Umbrella Corp. I used to be a fan of the X-Files, and I enjoyed most of the government conspiracy story lines. I love that sort of stuff.
This movie, however, would have been perfect had there been more monster designs. Perhaps they did not want to overdo it, but I also like that sort of stuff. And it would have been nice to see more of the undead designs. Sometimes the camera only showed fleeting glances, so it was difficult to see how they were modified.
So if you like hot babes kicking ass, monsters and corporate conspiracies, you can't go wrong with this one. 9 stars out of 10.
X2 (2003)
Enjoyable but still lacking...
A few days ago, I watched the movie at the local cinema, and I had mixed feelings about the movie. It was certainly entertaining to see new mutants (i.e., Nightcrawler, Colossus, etc.), but unfortunately we were not introduced to any new villainous mutants (i.e., it would have been interesting to see them fight Apocalypse or Sinister), with the exception of Jason, who was a powerful telepath with the ability to project illusions. Actually, when it came to Jason, I thought that he was more misled/coerced than evil.
As for the movie itself, the plot was not that interesting, with the exception of Wolverine's origins (I've always enjoyed that plot). Certainly not as imaginative as the first movie's plot. However, the action sequences (and some of the comedy), the continuity of the movie (with the exception of Rogue's accent or lack thereof) and Magneto's escape from prison (one of the coolest scenes in the entire movie) helped make up for the some-what unimaginative plot.
And fortunately the ending of the movie (which I will not divulge) implies a promising/more interesting sequel...
All in all, it was an entertaining movie, and I do plan to purchase the release (perhaps as a used DVD), but it did not exactly meet my expectations of how the sequel could have been played out (and no, I cannot do any better myself, but I do know what I like). I rated this movie 8/10, but I was hoping the movie was going to rate a 10/10.
8 Mile (2002)
Interesting...
I rented this movie, knowing very little and expecting to see an auto-biographical portrayal of Eminem's life. Turns out I was wrong, but that did not make the movie any less interesting.
Eminem did a fine job, for his first starring role. In fact, I may be interested enough to see a sequel, providing that the quality portrayed in this film is maintained.
One character, however, criticized by many was Brittany Murphy's character, Alex. When I first saw her, I wondered how much she charges by the hour, if you catch my drift. Sure she looked hot, but she seemed to be out of Rabbit's league.
One thing I asked myself throughout the movie was: being in the mid-90's, where are the Vanilla Ice jokes? Rabbit was certainly a prime candidate, at least in the first half of the movie.
Normally, I am not one who watches dramas, but I found that I had enjoyed the movie and may add it to my collection. I gave it an 8 out of 10, solely based upon entertainment value.
Now to compare this one to the other extreme, I eventually plan to see Jamie Kennedy in "Malibu's Most Wanted."
Firefly (2002)
Interesting...
Just saw the season premiere and found it to be interesting and decently entertaining.
It takes place in the distant future; the Earth's natural resources have been depleted, so they went out to another solar system and terra formed a few new planets. The story takes place out in the outer fringes, where technology is not in high demand (kind of like a futuristic western, but a bit more interesting than that) and to some degree there's a bit of lawlessness.
Let's see how long Fox will keep this series alive...
Queen of the Damned (2002)
Excellent piece of vampiric cinema
It's been a few days since I saw the movie, so my recollection of the movie is not perfect. From what I can recall, my lasting impressions of the movie had been that:
1. It was one of the better vampire movies within the last ten years; it beat Interview with a Vampire hands down.
2. It was an erotic film, and Aaliyah was quite seductive.
3. It was disappointing in that important scenes were cut from the movie. (Where did these people learn to edit a movie?? Why in the world they cut out the introductory scenes for the ancient vampires, in addition to a few other important scenes? Before I saw the DVD feature about the scenes cut from the movie, I had to guess who Armand, etc. was.)
4. The soundtrack kicked ass.
As with any movie, it was different than the novel. For example, Lestat could not fly until he drank enough of Akasha's blood in the 20th Century. At least the movie wasn't as gay as the novel.
All in all, it was an excellent movie. If you had to decide between the DVD and VCR formats, purchase the DVD version. It has important cut scenes that you can watch after the movie, in addition to a few other features, including background information about the soundtrack. Jonathon Davis of Korn did an excellent job putting everything together.
Signs (2002)
Excellent
Normally I'm not a fan of Mel Gibson, but I must admit that this was one excellent movie. I did not regret seeing this one at the movie theatre, unlike some of the other releases from this year.
We've got a movie that combines two other similar stories: "The Arrival" and "Independence Day." Upon seeing the movie, it is kind of obvious of the similarities with ID4, but it does not go overboard. The movie is not heavily sci-fi nor is it heavy on (unrealistic) action. Signs is in fact a very suspenseful and exciting movie, more of a nail-biter than a rock-em-sock-em type movie.
With regards to "The Arrival," we've got some covert activities performed by the aliens.
If I had to pick out one of the most unlikely/unbelievable parts of the movie, I would have to consider the lack of government conspiracies. Today's modern myths and legends include government cover-ups, alien autopsies, conspiracies, etc. And it is commonly believed that there must be a core of truth buried beneath myths and legends. So why wasn't the government trying to cover up the crop circles or block media broadcasts?
Classic examples include: Roswell, the X-Files (the Mulder years, of course), Men in Black (NOT the movies), etc.
SPOILER ALERT...
All in all, the movie was excellent, except for the ending. The ending was weak. I guess it goes to show you that our water may not be as pure as we think (to take a different approach than the average reviewer)... If it comes down to a true alien invasion, a superior (technological) race should not be beaten by sticks and water. These guys did not appear to be the tiny, weak, large-headed aliens you see on Stargate SG1.
This movie will be added to my collection once it is made available.
Kung Pow: Enter the Fist (2002)
S'okay
I rented this movie with the expectations of seeing a movie similar to the "Airplane," "Naked Gun" and "Hot Shots" movies. While the movie did not quite meet those standards, it was still pretty funny nonetheless. Whether or not I purchase that movie for my collection is another matter.
One good and bad point about the movie is how they blended the movie "Kung Fu" with "Kung Pow." It was so well done that I did not realize this was the case until a little later in the movie. Why it could be termed as "bad" was because of the lack of current footage included in the movie (i.e., if more current footage was included, we might have had the opportunity to see more slapstick comedy).
The baby and cow scenes were the best.
All in all, it's a decent enough purchase if most of the excellent new releases are unavailable at your favourite video rental stores. Hey, think about it this way: it's funnier than some of the other comedies, such as "Mr. Magoo," "Super Troopers," "Osmosis Jones," etc.
The Time Machine (2002)
Interesting...
All in all, the movie was...okay. The special effects were great, but the movie seemed to be missing something. Perhaps it was because my expectations were set higher (thinking back on them, I guess I was expecting the purpose of the time travel would be for scientific reasons and/or to stop a villain, not as a way to prevent the main character's (Alexander) girlfriend from dying).
The movie started off slow, focusing more upon the love between Alexander and his girlfriend (the character's name currently evades me and I cannot tell by looking at the cast list). Then his girlfriend's life is suddenly taken away from them, motivating Alexander to build a time machine in order to bring her back. Eventually, he built the time machine but found that you cannot cheat death (i.e., he could not protect her regardless what he's done).
============================ Spoiler alert(?)
If he could not prevent her death, then why not take her into the future, just a few years later? For fear of paradox? Well, his travelling back to the past and interfering could cause a paradox.
End of spoiler alert.
============================ By this time, that's what I thought the movie would be about -- his going back and forth through time trying to save her all kinds of different ways, but fortunately that was not the case.
Eventually, he travels forward through time, including to our near-future (about 30 years, give or take). He was hoping to find an answer that would help him save his girlfriend. He didn't stay long, but things did begin to get interesting.
Then after an accident, he was propelled into the distant future (80,000 years). The bulk of the movie seems to have taken place during this time. Here, he meets up with a group of primitives called the Eloi and a race of genetically engineered (sub-)humans called the morlocks.
Near the climax, the storyline became confusing. I'm not sure if that was due to the writing or the 90min time frame. Perhaps on a second viewing, it would become clearer. But because the storyline became confusing, it lost some of its appeal. I do not want to go any further for fear of giving away the main part of the storyline.
As mentioned above, the special effects were amazing; I just wish that we were able to see more of them, especially the landscape rendering. Those scenes were absolutely cool.
The time machine, on the other hand, was not that great. They had talked about how it was the most elaborate prop designed to date, but I didn't care for it; it just did not have the "feel" of a time machine to it. For example, consider "Back to the Future." There, they used a sports car to represent a time machine, a device that once it reached a certain speed was capable of tearing through the space/time barrier.
For the record, I thought I'd provide my views on time travel. I believe that it could be possible to travel back to the past, but it would only be like looking through a window: you could see what's happening but could do nothing about it since it had already occurred. As for the future, I do not believe that it would be possible because it is not yet written and I do not believe that we are destined to follow one path (i.e., each decision made could create an alternate future/reality).
This movie could have been much better. Although the story is a remake, I think this sort of story should have focused more upon the time travel itself rather than one or two specific timelines. 7 out of 10.
============================ Spoiler alert (again)
1. Why couldn't Alexander use the time machine to save Mara from being kidnapped?
2. Why didn't he use the time machine to help save the moon? Sure, Mara may never have been born, but then neither would the morlocks. Perhaps he would have found a timeline that could have told him how he could have saved his girlfriend.
3. Aside from the morlocks, why is it that the human race has not evolved after 800,000 years? Especially considering the environmental difficulties shown to us.
4. How is it that after 800,000 years that Mara was able to speak (near-)perfect English? Sure, her family was devoted to keeping that ancient language alive, but without regularly using it, you'd think she'd maybe know 1 out of a 100 words.
5. When is the sun expected to go nova or explode? Will the Earth even be around 800,000 years from now?
============================
Resident Evil (2002)
"Night of the Living Dead" meets "Return of the Living Dead 3"
I've never played any of the video games, and I'm not one for artsy-fartsy stuff, so from an entertainment standpoint, this movie was superb. Nonstop thrills and frills. With awesome special effects and a fantastic group of actors, this movie is a must-see for all Resident Evil, horror and/or sci-fi fans.
The movie stars the lovely Milla Jovovich as Alice, a woman who was the victim of short-term amnesia and was suddenly drafted into an odd and unusual mission not meant for the-light-of-heart.
Ms. Jovovich's co-star, the equally lovely Michelle Rodriguez as Rain, a no-nonsense, hardened, gonna-kick-your-ass-if-you-look-at-me-wrong kind of woman. Armed with a machine gun, she was not about to let anything get in her way.
Together, along with a few other military agents and Matt, a man who is not who he claims to be, they fight their way through Umbrella Corporation to complete their mission and eventually to save their own lives.
All-in-all, this movie was fantastic. Solely for its entertainment value, I gave this movie 9 out of 10 stars. It lost a point for being too short (a movie like this should exceed 2 hrs, in my opinion) and for the way it let me wanting more. Definitely on my must-buy list.
The Scorpion King (2002)
Whoa!
If you smell-la-la-la-la-la....what the Rock....is acting! For this movie, the only thing that may have "stunk" may have been the dialogue -- too modern, for my tastes.
Overall, this was an excellent action/fantasy flick. The special effects were well done, the babes were hot and the battle scenes were cool.
But like I mentioned above, the dialogue was too modern, using our phrases, slang, etc. Even Rock's "Boo" near the beginning of the movie is modern. We should hear talk of wenching, etc. while sitting in front of a fire eating mutton.
Also, for a ruffian/assassin/barbarian, Rock was too clean. 5,000 years ago, people would have been rough and gruff. But of course, his appearance will attract viewers; how many people will attend a movie starring an unclean, smelly actor?
I guess if I'm making a point of the lack of realism in this movie (but then again, how real could this movie be, given that it takes place in a time that very few people know anything about), I guess I might as well mention the weaponry. Although I know nothing of that era, it just seems odd to me that the swords during that time would be so...perfect.
Okay, okay, okay. It seems as though I'm being nitpicky about the details of this movie, but I'm not. I have the habit of picking at movies I really like. And this movie had it all (except not enough magic), including the starring role of the WWF Superstar, the Rock.
For the Rock's triumphant achievement, I've given this movie 8 out of 10. It lost a point or two because it did not quite meet my definition of a fantasy/magic-related movie.
Oh yes, I consider this movie to be a prequel to the prequel of the Mummy Returns. In other words, this movie describes the origin of the Scorpion King, but does not portray the events seen in the Mummy Returns. Does that mean that we may yet see a sequel? I sure hope so.
Blade II (2002)
Just when you thought they could not top the first one...
...they turn around and provide you with a movie that surpasses all recent vampire movies, with the possible exception of Shadow of the Vampire.
This movie was awesome, and this new vampire was quite imaginative, as far as I'm concerned. The look of those things was disgusting, and if it could disgust me, then it's a keeper. Even until the very end of the movie, the appearance of those things was...odd, to say the least. I never really got used to seeing them.
So basically, a new vampire race had emerged, one that fed on both vampires and humans, one they termed as Reaper. Due to their higher metabolisms, they were required to feed almost constantly, and their victims would be soon transformed to form an additional member of this race.
This type of vampirism spread more like a plaque than anything. Not only that, but to make matters worse, these creatures were tough....really tough. Left unchecked, they would definitely replace vampires at the top of the food chain. Which is why they enlisted the aid of the Daywalker, Blade.
To find out what happens next, or even to see just how tough these creatures are, it's best to watch the movie. It was definitely worth my buck, or rather seven of them. The special effects were awesome, but sometimes it's a bit tiring to see one man fight many every so often throughout a movie.
Given the nonstop action, a bit of humour, a few wrestling moves, imaginative creatures and great special effects, this movie is now one of my all time favourites.
Osmosis Jones (2001)
Boring!
What a boring movie. While it did have humorous parts, it was just plain boring and lengthy (for a 90 minute movie). I believe that the cause was a lack of action.
When I rented this movie, I expected to see white blood cells combat the evil viruses, but no such luck. It was more that the virus was thwarted than defeated.
The movie had promise, but since made for little kiddies in mind, it did not meet its potential, in my opinion.
Evolution (2001)
Undoubtedly amazing
Let me begin by stating that I am a fan of Starship Troopers. To see another alien-monster movie of this calibre was certainly a pleasure and a privilege. Allow me to also state that I rate my movies on entertainment value, not that artistic crap or plausibility (after all, when dealing with alien DNA, what is plausible?).
David Duchovny and Orlando Jones starred as a pair of goof-ball scientists (a biologist and geologist, respectively) who wanted to use the meteor fragment (teeming with only microscopic life at the time) as a get-rich-quick scheme.
The creatures were very imaginative; everything was incredible. The movie started off with the asteroid entering Earth's atmosphere and took little time to get the story/plot well underway. Not only that, but mix in a little humour and action, and the end result was an extremely fun movie to watch and enjoy.
All in all, I gave it a 10 because I really liked this movie. Also, a sequel starring David and Orlando would be fantastic. A sequel could be possible because after all, the asteroid broke into several chunks. David and Orlando could then be called into the scene, since they would be known as the foremost experts of dealing with these creatures (I assume that as a biologist and hero, David's character would have an opportunity to study these creatures further).
Ghosts of Mars (2001)
Better than I had expected
The commercials did not do this movie justice. I expected more of a gunfight between gangsters and policemen rather than a battle against "ghosts." I'm certainly glad that I was wrong.
SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!
I more-or-less liked the "horror" aspects to the movie more than anything. Aside from actually being on Mars and terra forming the atmosphere, it certainly did not look that futuristic. 200 years into the future and they (or should I say we?) did not develop any stronger weaponry than what exists today. No lasers, phasers or stun blasts.
Putting that aside, it was still an interesting movie. I liked the idea of how these martians were able to survive and infect humans. But I have to wonder. We had a glimpse of them, of their past. How did they get locked up underneath the mountain? And did the aliens turn into ghosts/parasites, or were the aliens also infected oh so long ago, and did the surviving aliens lock the infected ones up before dying off or moving away? Those sort of details were not considered. Had they been, this movie may have rated a 10 in my books.
Overall, we had seen a small group of humans kill infected humans. But guess what? Once the human host is killed, the parasite moves on to find another human host. So in fact, it would be a never-ending battle. Yet, that was how they fought. Not really a bright move. Their goal should have been to fight their way off the planet and/or somehow defeat the parasite through different means, perhaps by releasing an airborne drug. I don't know.
Again, I did like the movie but it could have been better. It was certainly better than John Carpenter's Vampires, which was not great but still watchable.
I gave the movie 8 out of 10 because I liked the potential this movie had and (as far as I am concerned) the originality of the plot/movie.
Mononoke-hime (1997)
Perfect, absolutely perfect
I've just started to expand my horizons within the anime genre, and was I ever surprised with the quality of Princess Mononoke (dubbed version). The artwork and the story were fantastic and kept me captivated throughout this 2 hr 14 min movie. I bought the movie sight unseen and I regret nothing. Well worth the price tag, which in itself was quite reasonable.
While it does not contain mythical creatures such as dragons, goblins, etc., it was still an excellent fantasy-related story, describing how our world MAY (I emphasize "may") had been prior to "Man's progress" thousands of years ago.
The artwork was amazingly detailed, and the dub was seemless. I gave this movie 10 out of 10 for the quality and entertainment value alone.
The Forsaken (2001)
Average or so
Not the greatest vampire movie, but it was watchable. It featured a "different" type of vampire, which was fine with me, but it was just a little too convenient that their car stalled near an old graveyard for the final battle. I would have preferred it if they set a trap for the head vampire instead.
Because it's a vampire movie (one of my favourite genres), I gave it a 6/10. If the movie was available at a cheap price, I would likely buy it.
If you're wanting to see a better vampire movie, check out "Dracula 2000," "Dracula," "John Carpenter's Vampires" or "Shadow of the Vampire."
Faust: Love of the Damned (2000)
Spellbound, captivated
I rented the movie because the warnings on the cover (and I agree that this movie should not be watched by juveniles). In my opinion, the warnings may have overstated the violent nature of the movie (in comparison with other Hollywood action movies), but it certainly had its perverted aspects, of which I will not detail here.
The movie was quite interesting from start to finish; I was glued to my seat. The worst aspect, however, was the demon suit. It looked too much like a costume (i.e., in Hollywood these days, they attempt to make the costumes more realistic -- take a look at the current "Planet of the Apes"). Although I am not that familiar with the Faust legends, the demon suit was perhaps not necessary, in my opinion.
All in all, I liked it; the story was quite interesting. I enjoy supernatural movies, and this one certainly fit the bill.
Tomcats (2001)
Great! Fantastic!
I couldn't get enough of this movie. It surpassed all expectations (which is rare these days, considering that most commercials these days attempt to make the movie look better than it actually is).
Next to the Scary Movie movies, the Naked Gun movies and the Hot Shots movies (i.e., the more extreme types), this was one of the funniest movies I've seen to date. The movie was lewd, crude and rude, and I thought it was fantastic.
The women are gorgeous (especially Shannon Elizabeth and Jaime Pressly), the laughs are plentiful and the out-takes during the closing credits are hilarious. What more could you ask for? A sequel? Hard to say if this is possible, given that nearly everyone got married, but with Hollywood, anything is possible.
Aside from the weight problem, I've gotta admire Horatio Sanz's character at the end of the movie. Alright!
