Behind Enemy Lines (1985)
Poor bordering on the embarrassing
I actually contributed to this film, well .. I was an extra during the shooting in and around Trondheim, where I lived. When I saw the film later, I was gravely disappointed; it is one of the poorest war movies I have ever seen. What little plot there is is tedious, actor performances are poor, and I honestly didn't get what it was about at all. A film that had been better left alone, though it was great fun shooting things up in the making of it. Stay clear.
Battlefield Earth (2000)
Inane, noisy, hopeless.
I love sci-fi, fantasy and, generally, odd movies. What's odd about this is that it was ever made, John Travolta or no. A little humor might've helped, though I doubt it. A sterling example that an overly expensive film need not be any good .. at all. Train of thought; Travolta, a video camera, a few actors and a _real_ script would most likely be infinitely more rewarding. But, Travolta really wanted to make this film, as well as the upcoming sequel, so all hope probably _is_ lost. It is disturbing to watch otherwise formidable actors become trapped in semi-religious rubbish such as this L. Ron Hubbard "script".
