Guess Who (2005)
Awful.... slow movie
This movie was so slow!!! Within the first ten minutes I was bored and the entire movie was one long boring ride. There were long moments of silence in the movie which left the audience questioning what was really happening. There was not enough physical comedy to make it funny. In fact...
There was nothing funny about this movie. The only moment was during the dinner scene with the grandfather involved. What a disappointing movie for a Bernie Mac fan.
The plot was forced and there was no chemistry between Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher. Poor script, poor acting, and poor direction. There was no vision to this forced movie.
Alfie (2004)
ALFIE IS AWFUL!
This was one of the worst movies that I have been subjected to in a long time. It didn't quite know if it was: A) a chick flick because of Jude Law consuming the screen every single moment B) a manly flick because of all the hot women running around half naked.
C) Or just a hodge podge of doomed relationships/one night stands.
The movie didn't quite know what it was and left us in the same perturbed state as its main character.
Jude was adorable, the NYC life was fun to watch, but overall the movie lacked substance. And not to mention the lack of social awareness when it came to the women in the film.
Stay away... unless of course you have an undying love for Jude Law. But after sitting through this your love will wither away!
What Lies Beneath (2000)
The Direction is stellar
Robert Zimeckis has taken us again on a directorial whirlwind. We are emersed in the lives of these individuals and their secrets through the angles of the lens. The use of mirrors throughout the film are both mesmerizing and suspenseful. We learn to love the characters and fear them as well. The film was a superb masterpiece in the style of Hitchcock with a millennial twist. I highly recommend this movie!
