The League of Gentlemen: Live at Drury Lane (2001)
Very talented people, very funny show!
This is only for TLOG fans.....anyone who has never seen the series would just sit there open mouthed wondering what on earth it's all about! These guys are so talented that after watching their live performance you realise how well rehearsed this show was, and the amount of hard work they put into it. It's all very dark and surreal, but fantastically acted and hysterical. But I strongly advise anyone to watch the 3 TV series BEFORE they watch this....otherwise it would just freak them out! Great Stuff!
Planet of the Apes (2001)
short but sweet
Awful, just awful! Bad casting, bad acting and not a patch on the original. It could have been so much better. I know the idea is somewhat far fetched about apes ruling the earth, but the original film was entertaining and thought provoking. This version is just downright silly. Sorry, but it stinks!
The Cable Guy (1996)
Jim Carrey....Not so lovable!
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!........CABLE GUYYY!!!!..Jim Carrey brings this film to life like no other actor could do. From the moment Chip Douglas (Carrey) appears you are in for an uncomfortable gem of a film. It's been said before that this is NOT the usual Carrey movie, his usual comical, lovable characters are blown away by this lonely, creepy and unlikable psychopath. You will feel uneasy throughout the film, always on edge but totally entertained. Carrey gives his all to bring about a quite believable madman, hell-bent on taking over someone's life. The film has some hilarious moments and some quite surreal scenes which add to it's 'feel' which will be not to everyone's taste. The karaoke party is like a bad trip! A clever film which will one day become a classic
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989)
Christmas at it's best !
If you want to 'feel' all Chritmasty, then look no further than buying National Lampoon Christmas Vacation. Everything from the opening music to the ending titles sums up the most favourite time of the year. The storyline is basic, relatives come round to stay for the best Griswald Family Christmas ever, add to that the unexpected arrival of cousin Eddy and family with their dog, snot, and you have a Christmas bordering on insanity and mayhem. It's a film you can watch over and over again, the acting is terrific and some of the one liners will have you in stitches. Very funny, Very Christmas !
