Made me want to see the rest!
7 July 2000
Believe it or not, Halloween H20 was the first Halloween movie I saw in the series and I was very impressed. It made me want to see the rest, because the movie was very entertaining, scary, thrilling, chilling and spooky. Michael Myers is so terrifying, I kept picturing his face in my head after the movie!

I understood the story completely, I mean who hasn't heard the haunting tale of Michael Myers and his victim sister Laurie Strode?..... Anyway, Laurie (Jamie Lee Curtis) has moved yet again to another high school with her 16 year old son, John (Josh Hartnett) who is also in the line of fire....As you guessed, Michael and his gigantic butcher knife have followed them again, and he is on the rampage, killing more and more, will Laurie ever defeat him? Watch and find out!

My rating: 8/10.

28 Days (2000)

Fully Enjoyable.
16 June 2000
28 Days has been a must-see for me ever since I saw the trailer. And I must admit I was not disappointed, 28 Days was everthing I expected it to be. Funny, yet heartfelt and dramatic. The acting is simply brilliant, this is Sandra Bullock's best film yet, and she can take it on all by herself. The supporting cast is also good, especially the young lady who played Andrea, who, I am sure will get an Academy Award Nomination.

Bullock plays Gwen Cummings, a party-hard woman in her 20's who has just ruined her sister's wedding, crashed a car and earned herself 28 days in a rehab centre. What happens there is not expected, as Gwen realizes she is missing out on the real world and real friends.

I give 28 Days 9/10 for effort in film-making.

Very Cool.
16 June 2000
Gone In Sixty Seconds is one of the most visually exciting and entertaining movies I have seen all year. It kept me stuck in my seat right through until the end, and took my breath away. The acting is awesome, especially from Angelina Jolie and Giovanni Ribisi. The sound is excellent, and the story is well written. Gone In Sixty Seconds is a completely recommendable film.

If you are expecting just sex and fast cars, you better think again. Gone In Sixty Seconds is really about brothers and going your heights to save them. But that doesn't mean it is completely serious and s**t!

I recommend you see Gone In Sixty Seconds if you want a crime-fulled, action-packed, thrill ride of a movie!

Bicentennial Can
2 June 2000
I saw this film a very long time ago and I was enjoying it at the start. However, the film gets stupid, cheesy, romantic and downright boring at the end. Robin Williams does a great acting job, which makes up for some of the mistakes and bad storyline.

Sam Neill is Sir, or Dad, who has just bought a bicentennial man called Andrew (Williams) - Andrew is desperate to become a part of the family, as much as he is desperate to become a man.

The film is adorable, cute, and funny but it is also boring, romantic and silly.

Lake Placid (1999)
5/10
Disappointing.
2 June 2000
Lake Placid was a must-see for me and when I finally saw it on video, I must say I was really disappointed. The acting is terrible, the story is flat and the crocodile looks fake. The comedy is the only thing that keeps you entertained.

Bridget Fonda plays Ally, a scientist who has found a leg-less guy who has been bitten by something mysterious in Black Lake which is ages away from where she is. Ally goes exploring with another bunch of people where she finds a cow eating crocodile and a very upset granny croc.

Don't see this, try "Deep Blue Sea" instead.

Very Under-rated.
2 June 2000
I have seen reviews of this film and people give it 5/10 and 3/10. It is just because they couldn't understand the film. I, myself found it intriguing and my eyes were glued the the screen. The story is amazing, the direction is fabulous and the acting is excellent. The story kept my ass glued to my seat the whole time, with no intention of getting up.

In short, The Talented Mr. Ripley is the most intelligent thriller of 1999.

The Exorcist (1973)
9/10
The Funniest Film of 1973.
2 June 2000
I have no idea why this is matched under the horror genre. It is pure comedy, and black comedy it is too. I mean with quotes like "Let Jesus Fuck You", "Lick Me!", "Your Mother Sucks Cocks In Hell" and several other demon words, how can you be scared? I found myself giggling through the whole film. Of course, you've heard it is disgusting, which is true. But horror is wrong.

Okay, been a black comedy does not stop this film from been good at all. It is genuinely a masterpiece and one of the greatest horror films of all time. - See it!

Go (1999)
9/10
Fantastic.
1 June 2000
I rented Go aggeeeez ago from the video store and here are my comments.

This film is about a bunch of supermarket workers and the trouble they get into when it is they're free time. Simon Baines (Desmond Askew) gets into trouble when he touches prostitues in Los Angeles, while Claire (the sexy-terrific Katie Holmes) and Ronna (Sarah Polley) get into a drug mix-up in the city.

Sarah Polley makes an impressive debut, Katie Holmes at her best and Taye Diggs in this smart role make it a perfect casting. While the direction is excellent, the cinematography great and the screenplay - awesome, the film is smart, sexy, intelligent, thrilling, full of action and brashly funny - what other reasons do you need to see it? GO!

Diaz Strikes Back!
1 June 2000
I was pleasantly suprised with this movie, because I didn't expect it to be GREAT. But it was, the film is smart, sexy, funny and thrilling. You'll love Cameron Diaz and the storyline is marvellous. Black comedies don't get much better than this.

Diaz plays Natalie, who is happily married to older-crinkly George (Harvey Keitel). Everything is perfect until Natalie's old boyfriend (Billy Zane) shows up while George is out on a fishing trip. As if sleeping with him isn't bad enough, Natalie finds the guy dead and naked on a table. Who knows what happened? Our Nat's doesn't have time to find out, she must hide the body and look ship-shape before George returns!

Unfortunately, Keitel is miscast and should play Natalie's father, and the story sometimes gets silly, but overall, thats the fun of it!

The Craft (1996)

Very Cool.
1 June 2000
IMDB says this movie is a Comedy/Horror. It is really a full-on roller-coaster ride thriller. The Craft is a very cool movie, with awesome plot twists and a cool storyline. Enough to keep you on the edge of your seat for an hour and a half.

Robin Tunney superbly plays Sarah, a new girl in town who has no friends. She is told about the mysterious Bitches Of Eastwick, who call themselves witches. The REAL ones. When Sarah bumps into Eastwick's leader, Nancy (Fairuza Balk) she suddenly and happily becomes part of the witches group.

I recommend you see The Craft if it is a cold and stormy night - that is the perfect setting, seriously!

Babe goes big - again.
31 May 2000
In 1995, Babe popped into the world and grossed a total of $250 million. In 1998, Babe bounced back and made even more money than the original. And it totally deserved more, too. This sequel is better, but it doesn't patch up for the terrible progenitor....

Anyway, when Babe wins yet ANOTHER contest in rounding-sheep he gets taken to the rounding-sheep finals all the way in the city. As you can probably tell, he gets lost and has fun, but will he ever be able to win the contest?

Tigger in 2000
19 May 2000
Well, I really adore Tigger, I really do, and I was sadly disappointed with this movie. It is not as funny or great as I expected it to be.

The film rushes to the point too quickly for my liking, Tigger bouncing through the forest with Roo and then Roo mentioning his family. Then quick as a zip Tigger goes looking for his stripy mates.

It's not really bad, it's just alright, but not one I would see again.

My rating : 7/10.

Totally a joy to watch, The Iron Giant follows the story of young Hogarth Hughes (Eli Marenthal) - a little boy who has nothing to do. Then he hears about a huge metal machine falling from the sky. He goes and searches. And of course, trouble finds him. But love, friendship and redemption also find him and he befriends an Iron Giant.

This film has excellent animation, great voices and cool direction. Don't miss it!

The Iron Giant would definitely be on my top 30.

Loved it.

You'll cry, you'll laugh, you'll smile and you'll scream! - it has to be an animal movie! You'll love Buddy, you'll love the story, Jesus Christ, you'll love the whole entire movie!!

I don't know why people didn't enjoy this film = it is excellent! Give me one good reason why you should hate it.

Well, there is this kid, right, and he is new to the town and he loves basketball. And he has just found a dog with the same interests and they are on their way to Basketball Champz!! But is that okay with the mean circus owner? Nuh-uh!!

You'll love this. My rating : 9/10.

Elizabeth (1998)
10/10
Excellent.
13 May 2000
I don't know about anyone else but I reckon Elizabeth should of won Best Film in 1999. I know - Shakespeare In Love is a cool movie, but Elizabeth has that little spark that makes it alot better.

Elizabeth has an excellent cast including Cate Blanchett, Joseph Fiennes, Geoffrey Rush, Richard Attenborough and Christopher Eccleston. Cate Blanchett is amazing, Joseph Fiennes is excellent and Richard Attenborough is good as always.

Elizabeth is definitely a "must-see" for people who haven't seen it, and if you haven't, you should go and rent it a.s.a.p.

My no. 14 movie. My rating : 10/10.

The X Files (1998)

A Great Thriller.
13 May 2000
I never really watch The X Files on telly much, but when I saw the movie, I was impressed. It is thrilling, scary and packed with action. Probably the best sci-fi movie of 1998.

Of course, The X Files is about Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) on the case of extra-terrestrials but this time it's scarier, bigger, better and longer.

The X Files is a great movie, packed with great acting, an awesome director and a plot to make you think different about the world out there. Just another day in The X Files I guess!!

My rating : 9/10.

Oh also, if you're not a big fan of The X Files, I was a complete novice, and I found myself enthralled. See it!

Great Entertainment.
13 May 2000
The Wedding Singer is like one of those movies you can watch over and over again and you can never be bored or never stop loving the film.

The Wedding Singer is hilarious and romantic and has lots of nice 80's touches.

The Story : Robbie (Adam Sandler) is a wedding singer who has just been dissed and dismissed at his own wedding. He always does a great singing job...until now. That is until he meets Julia (Drew Barrymore - great in this one), a good-natured waitress who happens to be engaged to a guy who smokes and is an alcoholic. What is Robbie gonna do about that?

A cool flick you can't resist. My rating : 9/10.

Out of Sight (1998)

A Good Film.
13 May 2000
I thought Out Of Sight looked really awesome from the previews and I was pleased with what I saw. Jennifer Lopez is great as a sexy cop and George Clooney is excellent as a bank robber.

Jack Foley (Clooney) is a smart and witty bank robber who has just escaped from jail ..... again. Now he has a sexy cop on his hands (played excellently by Lopez) and woops - they have fallen in love! Will she turn him in or will they get married and go to an exotic island? Who knows - you'll just have to see it.

Out Of Sight is a cool movie that I recommend to viewers.

Great.
13 May 2000
This film is full of nice touches. It has great actors, a good length, a cool story and it proves that Jennifer Aniston can do a good dramatic movie well. (not that she hasn't already).

Aniston plays Nina, a lovely lady who has just lost her boyfriend. Uh-oh. Now she has fallen in love with a gay guy (Paul Rudd), and does he have the same feelings?

This film is entertaining and lovely to watch. It made me feel warm inside.

My rating : 8/10. Its just lovely.

Touching.
13 May 2000
I didn't really want to see Soul Food that much but I thought I might as well give it a go. I was fully impressed. I was glued to my seat the whole way through. The acting is superb, the storyline is both funny and touching. It is an unmissable film telling the story of an Afro-American family going through hard times.

Trust me, Soul Food is a good film which left me shocked at how touching and how nice the film was.

The Replacement killers is never dull, it is wildly entertaining and has lots of shocks and plot twists to keep you on the edge of your seat. Mira Sorvino and Chow Yun-Fat are great. I suppose this movie can go a bit far sometimes, but overall the result with it is awesome. A great thriller.

The Replacement Killers is a must-see for all action lovers.

13 May 2000
Why do people dislike Doctor Dolittle? I love it! It is entertaining, hilarious and has great special effects. Doctor Dolittle is a must-see for 1998!

John Dolittle (Eddie Murphy) had a gift that he could talk to animals when he was younger. When a dog called Lucky calls him 'Bone-head' one day, he remembers that special gift. Now he has a tiger to help, a family to look after, a guinea pig to rock with and an alcoholic monkey to cure.

Doctor Dolittle is great. Look out for the voice of Chris Rock as he hilarious hamster!!

The Funniest Film Of 1997 - Definitely!
13 May 2000
I couldn't stop laughing in this movie, this is a great comedy with an awesome look at how much Mike Myers can really do. He helped write the script, played 2 characters and directed! Even if you hated this film, you hate to agree that Mike Myers did really well putting this together.

Myers plays Austin Powers, a shagadelic guy who has frozen himself to save the earth from Doctor Evil (also Myers!), a scary looking bald guy with an evil attitude. Now, in modern days, he must help his new sidekick (Liz Hurley) kick Doctor Evil's ass!

Don't miss this!

The Best Animated Movie I Have Ever Seen.
13 May 2000
The voices are great, the story is terrific, the songs are better than words and the animation is perfect. The best animated film I have ever seen by far.

Ariel is a teenage mermaid who is closely watched over by her father, King Triton. She is in love with the world above the sea and wishes to go up there one day. She loves Prince Eric from the moment she meets him, but there are some nasty tricks from the scariest monster in the sea called Ursula.

I just loved it. My rating : 10/10. My no. 9 best movie.
