Final Offer (1985 TV Movie)
10/10
Showing us who are the real b***ards
25 October 2001
This balanced documentary none the less shows who really behaves despicably when it comes to labor relations. Bob White does his best to get a deal for his auto workers but the multi-million salaried Roger Smith can't spare an extra 40c an hour. The stress of contract negotions is evident and one does get the feeling that at times the workers are their own worst enemy. Even though it was made in 1985 this doco is more than relevant in today's environment where workers are expected to accept less and less while execs get million dollar bonuses and massive share options.

Home and Away (1988– )
Past Glories
28 February 2001
Home & Away had its best days in the mid 90's when they actually had good actors and a few decent storylines. It started to go down hill after about 1997 when the characters became all to similar and the storylines revisited (but then again what soapy doesn't?). This show is watchable until you feel the recycling and then its a turnoff. I do admire a couple of the actors though who have stuck with the show and not got stars in their eyes and expectations beyond their abilities.

It's Your Move (1984–1985)
Caught In The Act

David Garrison as Norman and Jason Bateman as Matthew are well cast in this short-run but brilliant comedy of a 14 year old schemer who meets his match. NBC cancelled the show apparently after complaints that kids were copying Matthew's schemes! This show was a forerunner to "Married With Children" by the same producers and the influence is obvious. 4/5 from me, losing a point for missing the plot in the final episodes.
