Despite the happy ending, one of the saddest movies ever.
21 December 1999
This is a sad, sad movie. Just the thought of Snoopy possibly thinking of leaving is enough to make anybody with a heart cry. Worth seeing, though, for the whole "NO DOGS ALLOWED" scenes, Woodstock's whistle-along tune, and the ultra-happy ending. If you don't like the idea of a puppy running away from home, though, don't even try this movie.

A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965 TV Movie)
This is the greatest thing ever to be shown on TV.
21 December 1999
There is nothing about A Charlie Brown Christmas that is short of great. Vince Guaraldi's soundtrack really sets the mood. Linus's reading from St. Luke is sure to give you the true meaning of Christmas instantly. (That reading, done by anybody, always brings a tear to my eye!) Even the Dolley Madison commercials that used to run with the show are wonderful and memorable. (Remember the Zinger Zapper?) Finally, the single greatest moment, if there is just one greatest moment, is Snoopy's first-ever steps in animation, during which he is given a well-deserved solo guaranteed to leave a lasting impression.
