Bring It On (2000)
I'm seeing this a 2nd time, and a 3rd, etc.

Despite what anybody else on this board says, I thought this film was one of the best I've seen in a long time. The plot in a nutshell is a cheerleading team that attempts to preserve their name after the newly-appointed captain learns that her predecessor stole their routines from a rival squad.

Don't go in there expecting intense scenes like in The Hurricane or Titanic. It was just what a high school set comedy should be: lightweight and well-timed. None of the actors in the movie tried to hard or overacted. The movie didn't try to overdramatize high school life at all. The script was well-timed with every scene serving a purpose and the movie flowed very well. There were no meaningless "filler" scenes. The movie never failed to invoke a smile out of me or lose my interest. Kristen Dunst was a knockout. She portrayed her part as a stereotypical high school cheerleader very well. Cliff (Jesse Bradford) was my favorite male character. Here's hoping this movie contributes a lot to both their careers. Bring It On had me wanting to see this twice and I left the theater wanting to be sure to purchase this when it's released on video. Good job to everyone involved in this movie!!

Grosse Pointe (2000–2001)
Has great potential

Being a major fan of Darren Star's work, specifically his awesome soap "Melrose Place," I decided to give this show a try. I wasn't disappointed in the least. The first episode seems like it was used to set up the future plotlines for the series and introduce the major characters. I was kind of bored until the second act of the show and then it looked like it really was starting to take off. And like all soap operas, the show ends in a cliffhanger. The series is a soap opera about five young adults who work on a soap opera. I could see a few references to Melrose Place within the show. Somebody talking about collagen injections (Lisa Rinna), somebody complains about being stepped on (Josie Bissett), a car accident scene that lands folks in the hospital (a.k.a. the car crash scene on Melrose that injured Michael and "killed" Kimberly). Has potential to be really good. Very satirical. Give it a few more episodes, and we'll see if it sizzles.
