Feel the magic of Clive Barker at its best
7 June 1999
This was one of the best movies I've ever seen: It's horror, a bit of gruesome scenes mixed with the magic of the reality only Clive Barker can describe in his works.

While watching this movie, pay attention to all the scenes that relate to things previously said, watch the circle close itself.

And enjoy Clive Barker telling you that there is more in the world - more to see, more to feel and more than simply to "be".

Another X-files sequel
6 June 1999
While watching this, you may find yourself waiting for the horror, so the sudden credits may be the only shock you experience in this movie.

Another "I swear it - the corpse was here two minutes before!"-movie, this reminds me of some X-Files parts - Mulder and Scully would have far improved this movie.

All in all, this tells us that the Stephen King-movies may have a good script (his books!), but are poorly converted, and even nice cover pictures can't make me watch one more.

If this film is sick, so am I
6 June 1999
Well, this film is sick!

Yes, it's gruesome, brutal, and I liked it! I've watched it several times with several kind of people, and ALL of them have ended up with tears in their faces from all the laughing.

Beating babies with pans, frying and dicing people has never been funnier! This movie makes a horror freak out of everybody - and I enter in the chorus of all the audiences who comment this movie with "Give 'em more, more, MORE!".

Don't watch this because it's a classic!
6 June 1999
Well, all the (horror-) movie guides you might check for this title will tell you that "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" is a must for every horror freak. A good horror movie, in my opinion, has to include the following:

  • A good and entertaining script - Not too many dialogs, because it's action that brings satisfaction! - Scenes where you can see why the movie deserves it's R rating for extreme violence!

And this movie broke all that rules that would make it good. Long dialogs and beautiful 15min shots of a car driving around in Texas make it a hard thing to hold on till the end. And, when there's some action in the film, the lack of any light in most of the scenes additionally increase the entertainment value.

In a nutshell: The only thing that I learned from the movie is that a single character can scream for 30 minutes without breathing.

It may have been a cool movie the time it was made, but today's movies are better - so don't bother with this one.
