Murder Rooms: Mysteries of the Real Sherlock Holmes: The Dark Beginnings of Sherlock Holmes: Part 1 (2000)
Engrossing biodrama
There is something completely engrossing about this dark drama. The characters are all the more interesting because you know they exist, and all the brilliance of the Sherlock Holmes novels is present.
And whats more, it's a fascinating insight into the beginnings of both Sherlock Holmes, and possibly, more importantly, Dr Watson, who is in fact Sir Arthur Conan Doyle himself. It is dark, and may be considered gruesome, but all the while, this TV movie paints a vivid picture of turn of the century England. Entertaining and fascinating, "Dr Bell and Mr Doyle: The Dark Beginnings Of Sherlock Holmes" is possibly the best telemovie I've seen.
Walking with Dinosaurs (1999)
Brilliant documentary series with awesome CG work
I don't know how much information there is in this series that had to guess at, but it is a brilliantly informative and visually stunning doco series. Having only seen the first two parts, I can't wait for the rest; it's one of the finest documentary series' I've ever seen. Entertaining, informative and wonderful to watch.

Jackie Chan's finest film
Directed by, written by and starring Jackie Chan, Mr Canton and Lady Rose (Qiji) is his finest work. It is a beautifully crafted film, with some wonderful shots, as well as an intelligent script based loosely on "Lady for a Day".
Jackie Chan poured more money and effort into this film than any of his previous efforts as is obvious to see from watching it. Chan reportedly spent three days on one fantastic shot which is a long tracking shot through the Ritz as it is being turned into a nightclub.
I give this a ten, for it's humour, it's brilliant last fight scene, and it's excellent direction. Jackie Chan proves he is still the greatest action star with this film, but he also proves that there is more to his movies than just brilliant fight sequences.
