Frat House (1998)
A story about humiliation, naked women and kegs.
I just saw this movie, and blow me out! It's a scary, real portrait of fraternities in USA made by two skinny, smart guys with glasses. Although, this is not "The Revenge of the Nerds" whatsoever. It's just a close look to the inside madness in frats. This is a story about noisy parties, people with affectional needs, humiliation, naked women and kegs. At some point it's hilarious, and it's great if you want a college discussion about it. Totally cool, but hard to find (for some reason, not in video).
Alligator (1980)
Great little exploitation
According to Quentin Tarantino, he casted Robert Forster for "Jackie Brown" after he saw this 1980 Jaws-esque horror flick. And he was right, because Forster's performance belongs to a major motion picture. He's a detective trying to solve mysterious murders in Chicago sewers, and at the same time, he's trying to start a relationship with a young reptiles scientist (Robin Riker). At the end, everything matches. Great dialogues (it's a John Sayles screenplay!!), and great supporting characters, like the scientist's mother, who thinks her daughter is still a little girl. Look for the great Henry Silva, and an older Sue Lyon ("Lolita") like a TV reporter.
Nashville Girl (1976)
"Coal Miner's Daughter", but with sex
Monica Gale is Jamie, a 16 years old girl who travels to Nashville to try her luck in the country music business. Sadly, Jamie is really beautiful, and every man in the city is trying to get laid with her. She is confused, and sometimes she agrees. She goes to prison for a while (in a sexploitation way). Later, she knows a country music star who supports her, but he falls in love of her, and everything spoils. In one scene, this guy rapes her, meanwhile Jamie sister is listening the attack by phone. Musical, sort of "Coal Miner's Daughter" kind of movie, but with several nudes of thin, delicate, absolutely irresistible Gale. Quentin Tarantino showed it in the Third Annual Quentin Tarantino Festival in Austin, Tx.
