Ghassan Massoud Casting
28 April 2023
I only wish to say that the casting of Syrian actor Ghassan Massoud for the role of Saladin was the absolute most impressive acting role in the movie

He has truly brought to life the character in the most convincing manner possible and that alone (as short and limited as it was) carried the movie for me and made it worth while.

All the cast was perfect in the movie but this one in particular stands out the most IMO.

In the case of a few others that were side or central characters, it seemed like over kill for the calibre of the actors that they were who portrayed these individuals.

Hope you enjoy this movie. It took massive effort to pull it off by the great Ridley Scott!

Nothing like but something like Pvt Ryan
11 January 2020
Depressing and slow...it's understandable that war is an ugly reality, however, the story here has very little depth.

I've seen better.....

Alice in Wonderland (I) (2010)

Nothing like what you expect, slow slow slow slow dull and slow slow slow
4 March 2010
Warning: Spoilers
First Movie I walk out of in 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As expected though I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, Criminally insane Tim Burton manages to yet make another stupid movie from a classic favorite of every kid.

A) This movie is not what you might have been led to think it will be from the trailers and mass media bombardment Hollywood manages to over hype.

B) It's slow dull and not in anyway like what you think Alice in Blunder land is all about.

C) Soo much lost potential to market this movie to a wider audience and to make a genuine classic remake with partial of the cast involved and not all.

D) The movie could have been more musical to keep you entertained some how but no no no. Not a single piece in the first 60 mins

E) First Movie I walk out of in 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

F) Watch a pirated download if you must :( :( :(

G) the ONLY GOOD THING in this movie was the graphic animation and my mad hat goes off to those costume designers and special effects ppl.

Yes folks, this is as bad is they come in terms of bad remakes with H U G E potential..........

I walked out feeling ripped off from a childhood dream, so, cling while you can to the 51 classic as this is no movie for an Alice fan.

Then again, you may have a different opinion or view on it but don't say I didn't tell you so.

Frankly speaking, I have no interest in ever watching a Tim Burton movie EVER again.

Watch it twice 1st!
19 May 2005
Warning: Spoilers
Well, I'm not going to go on babbling about how good or bad this movie was. I was pretty excited a few hours before heading out to see it how I was about to come full circle with this ongoing saga that Mr. Lucas has made for himself over the last 28 years.

I suppose that like most people out there, I went to watch SW III with a certain expectation about how this movie was going to play out, however, this was only from all the spoilers I had read prior to the release date and the pictures with explanations I had seen were all over the internet….

In a nutshell, I highly suggest whoever you are, that you see this movie twice if you really want to absorb it right and make judgment about it + enjoy it more thoroughly.

Good luck and enjoy it!

The Village (2004)

It was slow and painful yet intriguing if you have not seen any trailers prior to the movie. Smash ending if you pay attention!
2 September 2004
Warning: Spoilers
I just got back from the movie and I thought it was very very original and a break from the same material out there these days. True that the movie could have been better (thats an opinion everyone has on allot of movies) in some areas but over all if you pay attention instead of yapping with your friends about this and that through out the film, try to predict the next step and you would have enjoyed being right if you got it!

I agree that the actors were too good to had performed in the caliber that they had however that is what the script and the director/writer demands they perform.

***** SPOILERS AHEAD *****

I have read what loads of other users have wrote and can't help but say this.... I feel that many of them have missed mentioning the great things at the end that redeem the whole boring/slow portions of the film.

First of all, the group of elders in the film were nothing more than a bunch of ordinary people (MAYBE) wealthy enough and have been hurt by the crime found in the modern world they lived in. They had bought the reserve space they chose to create a new life and world for themselves and their children and they managed to find each other to pull this sort of idea when they met each other at a group therapy sessions & thats how it all started.

The Creatures they created and the whole fiascal they designed was just the simplest they could bring up way from keeping the children and the younger generations from crossing beyond the VILLAGE to discover the outside world....

The reserve security personel were owned by WALKER FOR GODS SAKE! Has no one noticed that? Why am I reading other people's remarks that have not put any effort into analyzing the movie any deeper than their skin?

All in all a very good movie and I would rate it 8/10. Good stuff and much better than Signs!

LUCUS R E D E M P T I O N
15 May 2002
To sum it up, I thought that this Episode II movie combined elements from all other movies and presented a story that was filled with a good mix in all aspects one would usually see in any movie these days.

You had deceit, fight scenes, Love, Drama, Death, and the movie kept you waiting for the Final SHOWDOWN (Did you notice Jango Fett's gun sling?) at the end which will keep you entertained for a long time untill Epi III comes along.

I thought George REDEEMS himself to the point that you actually convince yourself that Episode one never existed! Yes it was that good in the end, and don't kid yourself if you think otherwise. I have seen all star wars movies ever since back in the late 70's when they first came out and I was living in this country since so far back that movie theaters did'nt exist back then except for an expats club that I was taken to and they had a 8MM projector that I watched Episode IV on as a 6 year old.

The world for me has never been the same ever since. Empire Strikes Back has always been the best of the rest for me untill Episode II came along, but now things are different. I just came back from a 12:05AM special show and in less than 15 hours after I get off work, I am going for a repeat loadup on the movie one more time!

Can't Hardly WAIT!!! PS: YODA WILL IMPRESS YOU TO THE POINT OF LAUGHTER! Loved the little ones :)

Mace does a good job as well as do Amidala, Aniken and Kenobi! The Clone Wars has commenced and it is grand... One last note, all the battle scenes in all previous Episodes are combined in this movie so trust me, it was all good. Jar Jar is transperant, but boy will you find out what he turns out to be responsible for later in the later movies. Mindless Carbon-Based thing.. Poor SAP.

'James Bond' crossing over 'Entrapment' crossing over 'Mission Impossible'
26 July 1999
At a Sneak preview this past weekend, I managed to persuade my Cousin and my best friend to join on a movie I knew to be a hit from what I had been following up on.

It's 'James Bond' crossing over the 'Entrapment' crossing over to 'Mission Impossible' with a fantastic ending of the movie that will have you smiling and feeling great about the whole thing!

The soundtrack alone is a winner without a doubt! If you want to know more about the movie I assure you that you will love it without reading any more! A must see movie hands down! 10/10!

The Haunting (1999)
7/10
Great FX that cloud the poor story line....
23 July 1999
I think this is the second time I comment on a movie and I guess what I would say of The Haunting is, old story meets new visual effects and runs us into a familiar Lame Theme once again that didn't move me at all....Even when the other viewers at one part in the movie that I thought was quite good, I didn't budge...

Think of it as Indiana Jones: Temple of Doom meets The PC Game: The 7th Guest. Here you have a group of sleepless individuals brought to a creepy house, hence Hill House, by a doctor pretending to be studying Insomnia were in fact his intentions are otherwise and ends up stumbling onto a freaky and bizarre chain of events that the group begins to encounter.

He then realizes that what some of his patients have been claiming all alone is actually true regarding the visions and strange encounters with the house. From that point and on, the truth behind the history of Hill House begin to unravel....

All in all, I was expecting more from the characters and the story was not as deep and original as I was lead into thinking it would be.... The Special effects and the house itself are Fantastic and the sort of thing you would want to see in a scary type of movie. Again I say it could have been MUCH better!

I guess I have become so much into movies that actually require brains thinking that this is not my type of move. HOWEVER, It's a Great Date movie :) Have Fun, Sleep Tight!
